Hablemos de “King the Land” [ESP – ENG]

Hola mis queridos amigos de Hive, el día de hoy les traigo mi reseña de la serie coreana “King the Land” la cual se estrenó el pasado 13 de julio en la plataforma de streaming Netflix. Esta serie cuenta con 16 episodios que se fueron estrenando cada fin de semana, el último episodio de la trama ya está disponible y su fecha de emisión fue el 6 de agosto. Los protagonistas de esta serie son Gu Won (Lee Jun-ho) un joven heredero y Cheo Sa-rang (Im Yoon-ah) una joven que empieza a trabajar en el Hotel King.

King the Land trata de la historia de Gu Won, un joven reservado pero muy inteligente, cuya familia es dueña del grupo King. Tras varios años fuera de Corea, la vida del protagonista cambia cuando recibe un paquete relacionado con su mamá, lo cual lo hace regresar a Corea y trabajar en el Hotel de su padre. pero se ve envuelto en una disputa con su hermana por la herencia de la empresa y es aquí donde conoce a Sa Rang, una mujer muy trabajadora que tiene siempre una sonrisa (siendo éste el lema de la empresa). La relación de ambos empezó con el pie izquierdo, ambos se llevaban muy mal, pero mediante transcurre el tiempo ambos se van entendiendo y a suvez enamorando uno del otro.

Además de nuestros protagonistas, las historias secundarias que nos presentan le dan un aire diferente a la serie. Por ejemplo, La aeromoza Oh Pyung-hwa (Ko Won-hee) y el auxiliar de vuelo Lee Roon (Kim Jae-wong) quienes sostienen un romance paralelo que se desarrolla al final de la serie, pero que siempre estuvo presente desde los primeros capítulos. Algo que me gustó mucho fue que en la trama exponen temas como el hostigamiento laboral, el acoso sexual y las expectativas impuestas a la mujer en una sociedad que sigue siendo muy conservadora, es decir lo mal que se ve en la sociedad que una mujer sea divorciada.

Una de las cosas que quiero recalcar es la hermosa amistad que existe entre Sa-rang, Pyung-hwa y Da-eul, me encanta como se apoyan entre ellas y siempre están para celebrar los logros de cada una y de apoyarse cuando las cosas no van muy bien.

Aunque en casi toda la historia nos tratan de dar pistas de lo que sucedió con la mamá de Gu Won, la cual fue la principal razón por la cual él regreso a Corea, al final siento que no desarrollaron muy bien esta parte y no le dieron mucha importancia a la reconciliación de madre e hijo, que, aunque fue muy emotiva, siento que falto que apareciera un poco más.

Esta es una comedia romántica muy divertida, cada episodio vale totalmente la pena y la historia de nuestros protagonistas es muy bonita, aunque por supuesto estereotipados. Es decir, es un K-drama para verlo en familia, yo lo hice y 10/10. Creo que lo único malo de verlo en familia es esperar a que todos tengan tiempo de seguir viéndolo y no adelantarme en ningún capitulo jaja. Les recomiendo esta serie totalmente pero SOLO si les gusta los Clichés, y la comedia romántica, de lo contrario creo que te parecerá aburrida. Hello my dear friends of Hive, today I bring you my review of the Korean series "King the Land" which premiered last July 13 on the streaming platform Netflix. This series has 16 episodes that were released every weekend, the last episode of the plot is already available and its air date was August 6. The main characters of this series are Gu Won (Lee Jun-ho) a young heir and Cheo Sa-rang (Im Yoon-ah) a young woman who starts working at the King Hotel.

King the Land is the story of Gu Won, a reserved but intelligent young man whose family owns the King Group. After several years away from Korea, the protagonist's life changes when he receives a package related to his mother, which makes him return to Korea and work in his father's hotel. But he gets involved in a dispute with his sister for the inheritance of the company and it is here where he meets Sa Rang, a hardworking woman who always has a smile (this being the company's motto). Their relationship started off on the wrong foot, they both got along very badly, but as time goes by they start to understand each other and fall in love with each other.

In addition to our main characters, the side stories we are introduced to give the series a different feel. For example, flight attendant Oh Pyung-hwa (Ko Won-hee) and flight attendant Lee Roon (Kim Jae-wong) have a parallel romance that develops at the end of the series, but was always present from the first episodes. Something I really liked was that the plot exposes issues such as harassment at work, sexual harassment and the expectations imposed on women in a society that is still very conservative, i.e. how bad it is seen in society for a woman to be divorced.

One of the things I want to emphasize is the beautiful friendship that exists between Sa-rang, Pyung-hwa and Da-eul, I love how they support each other and are always there to celebrate each other's achievements and to support each other when things are not going so well.

Although in most of the story they try to give us clues about what happened with Gu Won's mother, which was the main reason why he returned to Korea, in the end I feel that they did not develop this part very well and did not give much importance to the reconciliation of mother and son, which, although it was very emotional, I feel that it was missing a little more.

This is a very funny romantic comedy, every episode is totally worth it and the story of our main characters is very cute, although of course stereotypical. I mean, it's a K-drama to watch as a family, I did and 10/10. I think the only bad thing about watching it as a family is waiting for everyone to have time to continue watching it and not getting ahead of myself in any chapter haha. I totally recommend this series but ONLY if you like Clichés, and romantic comedy, otherwise I think you will find it boring.
