Among dark moments, it is indispensable to find some spaces where we can feel free to laugh, enjoy and think in things that are not dark. This is how last few days have felt in my country (Venezuela) and even I wasn't and I'm not in the mood. I've found myself looking for moments where I can free my mind of all the darkness, we're going through. So, that was how I finally ended up giving an oportunity to a really polemic movie, Let's talk a little about:
Poor Things is a movie released in 2023. It has a duration of 141 minutes and it is a science fiction comedy with its drama moments here and there. It was starred by Emma Stoned, Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe and Ramy Youssef. And it was positioned as one of the best movies of last year.

What is this movie about? It is complicated to explain without giving some spoilers but basically it follows the life of Bella Baxter (Emma Stone) a woman, who was came back to life by Scientific doctor Godwin Baxter (Dafoe) with a very particular method and become an important experiment about humans social qualities development and learning.
What do I think about it? Well tell you I like it could be perfectly a contradiction. I can only say it disturbed me but I enjoyed the development and construction of every character and the structure, photo and set up of the whole movie, and how everything was connected to Bella's character development. What I like the most of this story was the unexpected experience you live a long the whole movie, It wasn't a predictible movie estructure. I cannot tell you I got in love with any character or that it is a magic story, But I can tell you it is the kind of movie that when you watch it and analyze it you can see how brilliant it is presented.
Do I recommend this movie? If you're into oscars movies, then you have to watch this one. Poor things is an intelligent story, it is the kind of movie that is not made to have a good time but to think and analyze so you can enjoyed it. I cannot lie to you, I cannot say I loved it but I liked it that I watched it because it is interesting in a semiotic manner.

Entre los momentos oscuros, es indispensable encontrar algunos espacios donde podamos sentirnos libres de reír, disfrutar y pensar en cosas que no sean oscuras. ¿De qué trata esta película? Es complicado de explicar sin dar spoilers, pero básicamente sigue la vida de Bella Baxter (Emma Stone), una mujer que volvió a la vida gracias al doctor científico Godwin Baxter (Dafoe) con un método muy particular y se convirtió en un importante experimento sobre el desarrollo y aprendizaje de las cualidades sociales de los humanos.
¿Qué pienso al respecto? Bueno, decirte que me gustó podría ser perfectamente una contradicción. Solo puedo decir que me perturbó, pero disfruté del desarrollo y la construcción de cada personaje y la estructura, fotografía y puesta en escena de toda la película, y cómo todo estaba conectado con el desarrollo del personaje de Bella. Lo que más me gustó de esta historia fue la experiencia inesperada que vives a lo largo de toda la película, no fue una estructura de película predecible. No puedo decirte que me enamoré de ningún personaje o que sea una historia mágica, pero sí puedo decirte que es el tipo de película que cuando la ves y la analizas puedes ver lo brillante que está presentada.
¿Recomiendo esta película? Si te gustan las películas de los premios Oscar, entonces tienes que ver esta. Pobrecitos es una historia inteligente, es el tipo de película que no está hecha para pasar un buen rato sino para pensar y analizar para poder disfrutarla. No te puedo mentir, no puedo decir que me encantó pero me gustó que la viera porque es interesante de manera semiótica.
