Me encanta cuando acierto con alguna recomendación que veo en linea, y es que obviamente es muy subjetivo dependiendo de los gustos de cada persona, a veces me gustan y otras son una total pérdida de tiempo. Pero, la producción valió totalmente la pena:
I love it when I hit on a recommendation I see online, and it's obviously very subjective depending on each person's tastes, sometimes I like them and others are a total waste of time. But, the production was totally worth it:
🍿 Incendies
####| Es una producción canadiense del año 2010 ambientada en el Líbano, y narra la historia de Jeanne y Simon, dos hermanos gemelos que atraviesan un momento difícil cuando su madre muere y en la lectura del testamento les es notificado que deben entregar dos cartas, la primera a su hermano (del cuál no sabían de su existencia) y la otra a su padre (que daban por muerto). Y es Jeanne quién decide emprender un viaje al Líbano para conocer la verdad aunque su hermano no esté de acuerdo. | It is a 2010 Canadian production set in Lebanon, and tells the story of Jeanne and Simon, two twin brothers who go through a difficult time when their mother dies and at the reading of the will they are notified that they must deliver two letters, the first to their brother (of whom they did not know of his existence) and the other to their father (who they thought was dead). And it is Jeanne who decides to undertake a trip to Lebanon to learn the truth even if her brother does not agree. |
| La historia comienza con dos jóvenes tratando de huir de su pueblo, uno de ellos es Nawal (la madre de los gemelos) y su pareja, quién fue asesinado en ese mismo momento por los hermanos de ella debido a que él era un refugiado; pero de esa unión Nawal dió a luz a un niño, el cuál tuvo que dar en adopción y posteriormente irse a vivir con un tío en la capital para poder estudiar y salir adelante. | The story begins with two young people trying to flee their village, one of them is Nawal (the mother of the twins) and her partner, who was killed at the same time by her brothers because he was a refugee; but from that union Nawal gave birth to a child, which she had to give up for adoption and then go to live with an uncle in the capital to study and get ahead. |
| Estando en la capital empieza la guerra y ella decide buscar a su hijo, pero en el camino tuvo que enfrentarse a la triste realidad de una ciudad acabada por los ataques, y que el orfanato dónde dejó a su pequeño también fue destruido. Es en ese momento donde decide cambiar su postura y forma parte de un movimiento secreto en dónde tenía como misión asesinar al líder contrario, pero la atrapan y pasa 15 años en la cárcel en dónde dió a luz a sus gemelos y luego fue enviada a Canadá. | While in the capital, the war starts and she decides to look for her son, but on the way she had to face the sad reality of a city destroyed by the attacks, and that the orphanage where she left her little boy was also destroyed. It is at that moment where she decides to change her position and becomes part of a secret movement where her mission was to assassinate the leader of the opposition, but she is caught and spends 15 years in prison where she gave birth to her twins and then was sent to Canada. |
🍿 Opiniones generales | General opinions
####| En pocas palabras, esta producción es un culebrón, pero uno muy bueno. Desde la primera escena ya la película te da un indicio de que va a ser desgarradora y que es un retrato de los efectos negativos que tiene la guerra no sólo en el pasado sino también los rastros que deja en el futuro. A pesar de ser larga, fue tan bien realizada que no se hace pesado el desarrollo, y es que hicieron un trabajo increíble narrando una trama desde dos puntos de vista diferentes, incluyendo los flashbacks del pasado e incluso volviendo a los mismos lugares dónde se llevaron a cabo. | In short, this production is a soap opera, but a very good one. From the very first scene the movie gives you a hint that it is going to be heartbreaking and that it is a portrait of the negative effects that war has not only in the past but also the traces it leaves in the future. Despite being long, it was so well done that it doesn't become heavy, and they did an incredible job narrating a plot from two different points of view, including the flashbacks of the past and even returning to the same places where they took place. |
| Todos los actores hicieron un trabajo impecable, y sorprende que el notario (jefe de Nawal y amigo de la familia), comenta que luego de 18 años de tener como secretaria a Nawal, siente que realmente no la conoció al descubrir por todo lo que tuvo que pasar, incluso estuvo presa y ni siquiera sus hijos conocían de ese pasado tan oscuro y triste que su madre pensó que había dejado atrás. | All the actors did an impeccable job, and it is surprising that the notary (Nawal's boss and family friend), comments that after 18 years of having Nawal as his secretary, he feels that he didn't really know her when he found out what she had to go through, including being imprisoned and not even her children knew about that dark and sad past that their mother thought she had left behind. |
| Me gustó el hecho de que fue contundente y fue directo al punto pese a las diferentes encrucijadas, y aunque el final no me lo esperaba, y puede ser muy poco probable que las cosas se den de esa manera, no me quejo porque realmente la película mantuvo un buen ritmo y un buen hilo de los sucesos, así que se las recomiendo. | I liked the fact that it was blunt and got straight to the point despite the different crossroads, and although the ending I wasn't expecting, and it may be very unlikely that things would turn out that way, I'm not complaining because the movie really kept a good pace and a good thread of events, so I recommend it. |
