I'm a romantic so I usually love to watch romantic movies and more if they have a hint of comedy and seduction. That's why very few times there are some that I don't like, in that sense my quality standards go down a lot because of my personal tastes, but God! I hate this movie.

As I was able to discover this is a film that was born from a book written by a new amateur author that relied on other similar stories, something that is noticeable by the quality of the plot. And that doesn't seem bad to me because after all it's normal to find inspiration in other stories to create new ones, however (and I'm just talking about the movie) this is a bland, silly story that has no highlights or prominent points.

Yes, that is basically the "love" story that this film tells us, a very educated young girl new at university goes to a party where she meets the local womanizer who gradually seduces her through subtle and very romantic gestures that make her fall madly in love with him even ignoring the fact that she already had a boyfriend. The love and passion of these two reach such a high point that they move together and share most of their time, however, this is just an illusion that is ruined in the final minutes of the movie.

The truth is I have no problem with the simplicity of the love story of these two young people, after all it is something I have seen hundreds of times and still like. My problem is how the plot develops, with an eternal and extremely tedious rhythm where we see no progress, no intensity or drama that allows us to get hooked on the movie. Basically they give us a complete bubble of love that deflates in minutes and does not lead to anything else.

A plot without intensity, without anything that complements it to make it shine, basically a totally flat story without surprises or changes of rhythm. The two young people fall in love, live a rampant but "beautiful" passion, to finally discover that everything -SPOILER- was for a bet that ended up making our seducer really fall in love with the innocent girl.

The two young lovers seem to exchange minds at some point in the series, both lose their essence inexplicably changing our whole perception of them (for the worse). At first Josephine Langford, plays a young, innocent and shy girl who just wants to have friends and adapt to college life, but quickly his personality changes becoming more risky and passionate, ie this girl who presented us for so long as innocent suddenly becomes a young horny and somewhat obsessed with her boyfriend.

And with Hero Fiennes Tiffin almost the opposite happens, at first he plays a very rough young man, trusting and emanating an aura of unbreakable seduction, and then become someone insecure, sentimental and even weak who succumbs to his friends, turning into a kind of game for them.

In short, it is difficult for a story to stand out if your two main characters look like to have swapped brains in the middle of the movie.

A film that obviously denotes a shameless attempt to become a younger version of 50 Shades of Grey, where the protagonists act and have similar stories but commits the mistake of not developing an interesting plot that manages to catch us, has no innovative element that makes us love it, in short a total waste.
