I remember those horror movies of the past that were super addictive, violent and above all capable of generating suspense around the characters and the scenes that could be felt, a terrifying atmosphere that constantly made us jump from our chairs for how exciting they were. However, it seems that this magic remained in the past in spite of the failed attempts to recreate it as they tried to do with Halloween, a movie that only shares the name and part of the characters of a horror classic and that only make me feel bored.

# # The Plot. # This film not only shares the name of that classic movie by Jamie Lee Curtis where we saw one of the most ruthless killers in the history of horror movies, but also continues in a certain way with the story of those movies, this time bringing halloween night to the present and trying to give a fresh air to the character and the story through new situations derived in events similar to those of previous films, yes, this is a sequel; unfortunately it is a total garbage. The film basically shares the plot with the previous films by adding some small details in search of being different, details that are not just consolidated and that only make it totally boring and tedious.

On this Halloween night, we again have Michael Myers as the main threat, a Michael Myers who after being confined in a kind of madhouse manages to escape when he was being transferred to a higher security prison (a super classic and predictable twist in this type of movies). In short we have Michael Myers loose again and ready to find Laurie Strode and take revenge on her, fortunately the woman is not the naive young woman who was and now she is totally ready to face Michael Myers and kill him, to give herself that closure that she had been waiting so long in a story that totally ruined his life.

The plot advances quickly, well I guess it's because everything has to happen on Halloween night, but still the movie doesn't establish an atmosphere that allows us to enjoy all that terrifying montage that the creators of the movie want us to feel, hence the whole plot collapses because we don't appreciate it, it doesn't entertain and causes fear, ie it fails to be what it has to be; a suspense/terror movie.

# # Personal Opinion. # My problem with the plot of this film is that it is too obvious, you see from miles what is about to happen, all the scenes are typical and nothing new in terms of horror film, the whole film is defined in a more current recreation of things that we have already seen a million times and do not motivate anything new and much less scare or thrill us. So basically through the minutes we feel that we are seeing a repetition with better visual elements and with new and some older characters, something that is not right because it makes the whole film lack of emotion and suspense, leaving us with something tedious and boring to see, something that was simply done to generate income and nothing else.

The visual effects are fine and even the fusion of music with the appearances of Michael Myers are very good, but in the end is more of the same, more typical clichés of a film full of boredom and scenes that do not manage to convey intensity. This movie is another example where we see that wanting to squeeze a successful franchise from the past is not always a good idea because they end up ruining the good that had already been done, and losing fans who see this as an insult.

There is no doubt that this film is not good and that in fact, it represents all the bad things that a horror/suspense film can have, a film where the bad decisions are constantly highlighted, boring decisions, typical and that don't contribute anything at a plot level. In the end, a film that all it could do was waste my time.
