Lately it's rare to come across stories of vampires that are different and that treat the characters in an adult and terrifying way, now what we see are teen vampires who fall in love, drink and have sex constantly; and OK I'm not saying they're boring stories, only that they've already become extremely repetitive. Fortunately someone thought it would be a good idea to adapt a vampire story and take it further down the path of terror, I say fortunately because the result was very good, not perfect, but very prominent, of course I'm talking about NOS4A2.

But then why is this young woman important? Because she is basically the nemesis of our vampire, this young woman is able to create/invoke a bridge that can transport her wherever she wants, this young woman will almost by chance be put in the place of heroin to have to rescue the abducted children and fight the vampire with the help of some friends, something like an anti-vampire squad.
The story is not boring, but it is VERY complicated, because it not only focuses on this kind of battle and confrontation between young Vic and Vampire Charlie, but also on a lot of social and psychological issues that affect the characters a lot, and do not allow them to progress, issues that at times become too intense, that tires.

The young woman who plays Vic also does a fantastic job, above all because she fantastically manages to incarnate a young woman who constantly has a repressed fear that she can't accept, a fear that doesn't help her make good decisions and that constantly takes her away from reality.
I'm not going to deny you that the rhythm of the series is slow and that in order to appreciate it we need to open our minds a little and give it time, since the plot is constantly going down tedious paths that could make us abandon it but in general this is a very good series, with a Gothic Christmas atmosphere that reminds us a lot of those horror classics that were great. The series takes a very terrifying story and adapts it as best as possible softening the gothic tone but without leaving aside its essence that is basically a horror that is not subtle and instead offers us a lot of violence.
My Score: 7,3/10
