Director of week #3: Ron Howard

When I see a film that I don't know much about, I try to consider the previous work the director has done to find out if it's a good option or not, yes, I'm one of those picky people who don't like to waste their time in superficial and much less stupid films that only seek to entertain for a short period of time, after all for me cinema is one of the best representations of art and as such I want to enjoy it, otherwise I would wait for the film to be on television and that's it. I say all this because one of the directors that rarely fails me is Ron Howard, his films are always entertaining, visually fascinating and above all, they tell real stories that have a very dynamic development.

So for the third week of the favorite director's contest, I have clearly chosen Ron Howard and his film Rush, an adrenaline-filled film with a wonderful background where we can deeply explore one of the most entertaining and intense rivalries in Formula 1.

[Source](https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/96721-rush?language=en-US) # Although I'm not very steeped in the subject of professional motoring, Rush is a fascinating film because it allowed me to explore closely and above all in a very entertaining way the rivalry between two Formula 1 drivers who were practically born to face and compete with each other, two drivers whose careers developed in a similar rhythm reaching greatness and becoming the two maximum references of a sport full of emotion and intensity. The plot of this film focuses on how these two men developed their rivalry and how they brought it to the track of the most intense motorsport that exists, two men who met on amateur tracks and from there created a bond of rivalry that maintained while they were at the forefront of the sport.

Through the minutes we will see how it was the path of both drivers to reach formula 1 and meet again to relive their rivalry, two very different roads but both full of emotion and drama. On the one hand we have Niki Lauda, a cold and extremely intelligent pilot who made his way to the formula 1 by himself going to personalized tests and taking over the position of pilot of one of the most recognized teams of the time, while on the contrary for James Hunt the road was more complicated because this was a very charismatic man with a lot of talent but also very complicated and full of vices, a man who for a little and does not achieve it thanks to his ego so huge and unbearable, however a man who thanks to his incredible talent and audacity managed to receive an opportunity that he did not miss.

For these men, it was not only important to win but it was also important to beat each other, yes, basically in the film we see a constant battle of egos, where both pilots maximize their performance to beat each other.

What stands out most about this movie is the amazing way the scenes are shown, we constantly feel that emotion generated by seeing a race where anyone can win and where any slight mistake can cost the victory of the other. Ron Howard does a wonderful job creating a constant dramatic and intense atmosphere where we feel trapped by a rivalry that leads two men to do all sorts of dangerous acts, even risking their lives to beat the other. Like the speed of cars, this film sets a fascinating rhythm that constantly plays with our senses, filling us with euphoria and transporting us to the center of an automobile battle.

The whole film is developed in a way that we can see all the complications that these men have, here we will not only see the good moments or the funny moments, here we will also see the characters face personal challenges that affect their performance on the tracks but above all make them grow.
