Meanwhile, Wednesday wants to investigate more about everything that is going on, but she needs help, since the headmistress won't take her eyes off her. She decides to ask Enid for help, who at first refuses, but eventually agrees.
Thanks to Enid's help in impersonating her at the beekeeping club, Wednesday quietly heads into the woods to investigate, but runs into Tyler who was looking for some kind of evidence about Rowan's case. While walking through the forest, Merlina finds Rowan's bloody glasses and has a vision, in which she is presented with a large black book that apparently belongs to a society, which calls itself "the society of the dark night".
Wednesday does not stay with the doubt and goes to investigate to the library to see if she can find the book of her visions, unfortunately she finds nothing since one of her teachers tells her that it was a society that existed, but that it disintegrated a long time ago.
Upon returning to her room, Wednesday finds Enid crying because one of her teammates will not be able to participate in an important tournament for her and they need an urgent replacement. Wednesday decides to replace the teammate but only to humiliate Bianca (a mermaid girl). The day of the tournament arrives (which was basically a boat race) Bianca and her team cheat and ruin the boats of their opponents, Merlina realizes this and uses fingers to sabotage her back.
Upon winning the cup, while Wednesday's team celebrates, she decides to get away from everyone and sits on a statue of Edgar Allan Poe, and when she leans back and looks up she can see that he is holding the book she was looking for in the library.
That same night, Wednesday goes to the place where the statue is to investigate, checks it out and realizes that it has riddles, which she easily deciphers.
When she deciphers it, she realizes that it says "snap twice", so Merlina snaps her fingers twice and a door opens; she enters, finds the book, but to her bad luck she is kidnapped.
