The trailer of "Faster" promises a film of steroids. Strong, energetic and entertaining. Nothing more than what is at its core - old almost as much as the world's revenge story. Nothing original, nothing pretentious. Just a straightforward story of personal justice, without unnecessary ceremony, political correctness, or some logic and claims of credibility. Just what you would expect from a classic "exploitation revenge" thriller. And to tell you, the first 10 minutes are just that. The hero of the Rock, pumped like an animal-it's a real happiness to see him in a similar role, not in his constant, self-ironic and child-oriented roles, in which he wears dresses-he comes out of prison and literally heads to the desert to the nearest town. There is his car waiting for him - you know how it is, muscle car - with which he reaches his destination. An office in which he dumbfounds a bullet into the head of an employee.

At this stage it does not matter how and why. What's important is that whatever happens, the Rock will do it, right? Yes but no. Very quickly afterwards, things get a completely different form. The film takes on a spiral, slowly and stretching downwards, which finally finishes with a predictable and disappointing anti-climax spitting in the face of everything promised in the beginning. Honorable, valiant, religious talk of repentance, forgiveness and redemption. The action is nonexistent, except for two shots and a retrospective car chase in which our man drives the car backwards to get out of the police - just how it is not clear. Abe, in a nutshell, the film totally changes the direction. The truth, however, is that if it were only that, things would not be that bad. Because the movie definitely has the potential, and with only slight effort, it would become a good representative of the genre - not the best, but still ... pleasant. For example, the entire line with the hired assassin might not be there. In fact, it is the biggest misunderstanding, mistake in the movie. But let me first tell you in two words what it is about to be aware of. The driver and his brother robbed a bank but were screwed up and liquidated by a group led by an unknown villain. The driver, however, does not die, and after leaving prison he embarks on a revenge mission. In order to ensure that this unknown villain hires a killer to liquidate our man before he gets to him. This killer is some kind of superpowered metrosexual praiseworthy English-accented bourgeois accent who is bored with life, no one can stand because you see meditation and practicing yoga - he has made a pose that only 3-4 people in the world could do it. But that's not all. In order to clink even further, the work for which he is hired is "the last" before giving up his romantic relationship, which is blurred with no storyline and honestly telling you, I have no idea why she is there .

The cops line, charged with investigating the murders committed by the Driver, is also not the most original. The image played by Billy Bob Thornton is unclean - his son is overweight and does not cost baseball, - he has a bad past, takes drugs and only has ten days to retire. He manages to get into this case by harassing colleague Carla Gudino, which is the best thing in the movie. That's the way things are presented, it turns out that the film is a complete tragedy and he is not. There is an atmosphere (strange, but still ...), there is a style that would otherwise stand out as something really positive, as well as a cool soundtrack - pieces and original music of the great composer Clint Mansell. Moreover, although it irritates, it does not dull and you will not have the trouble to look at it to the end.
