It has been a decade since "Mamma Mia!" a tribute to the ABBA Swedish Quartet. This happened through the personal story of Donna Sheridan (Meryl Streep), her big lovers Sam Carmichael (Pierce Brosnan), Harry Bright (Colin Firth) and Bill Anderson (Stelan Skarsgard), who are alleged fathers of her only daughter Sophie (Amanda Seyfried ), both of her best friends from school years Tanya (Christine Baransky) and Rosie (Julie Walters). On the pretty island of Kalokairi, somewhere along the coast of Greece, swirling with a hurricane of hits, they were singing and sharing with us memories, trembling and worry. Enchanting and charging, the film quickly became a favorite classic. The summer of 2018 brings us his anticipated sequel, and also the fear (not without reason) that most of us find in the news that a successful film is getting a new part, and makes us ask ourselves the question: is it necessary this? Nowadays any movie can have a sequel - especially when it brings a lot of money.

I have no desire to kill the enthusiasm of the millions of ABBA fans, but we could safely go without this movie. "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again "does not offer anything new as a story and experience but presents the well-known facts that Donna Sheridan shares in the first film about her meetings with her three chosen hearts and how she came to the sunny island to begin her life again and to raise his own daughter. The whole movie can be narrated in one sentence. Not that bad is the case, and the lack of that gushing energy and fascinating emotion flowing from Mamma Mia! The change of Philly Lloyd as a director brings its consequences. The film runs in two time lines - the present track follows Sophie, who is struggling with her beloved Sky (Dominique Cooper) and opening Villa Donna in memory of her mother. At the same time, we are back in time and we see Donna (Lily James) in her youth years, graduating from college and going around the world to find herself.
First in France meets the virgin Harry (Hugh Skinner) who charmed her with the hit "Waterloo", accompanied by pleasant dances and scenography. In fact, one of the fresh moments in the movie is the adventures of the young actors starring our well-known young men - Jeremy Irvin as Sam, Josh Dillon - Bill, Jessica Keenan - Tanya and Alexa Davies - Rosie. Another nice new addition to the cast is Andy Garcia as Sergeant Fernando, manager of Villa Donna and the great lost love of the character, which was the most anticipated appearance in the movie. The advertising campaign has emphasized enough of Cher's involvement, which you will see as Sophie's grandmother Ruby Sheridon. To be honest, I was very confused by the pretentious expression and the overwhelmed look of her eyes. Big hits sound and they make a nostalgic tickle. There are also more unknown songs that slightly kill the mood. In some places, the link between the action and the introduction to a new song breaks and things happen in the first place (one of the main issues of the genre musical), which inevitably influences the narrative and it simply fails.

And we come to problem number 1, which easily explains all the questions if you have a feeling of a failure by looking at "Mamma Mia! Together again". The answer will be with the last song when Meryl Streep appears (the only scene with her participation + the songs to the final inscriptions). It's a movie about Donna, but you can not sense it. Missing. The problem is that the heart of the movie is missing. Not that it's not for watching - you just have no reason to remember it for a long time.
