"Money Monster" by Jodie Foster - movie review

Review by @godflesh · 2963d · of Money Monster

Spoilers. "Money Monster "is the television broadcast of the self-centered, arrogant and confident Lee Gates (George Clooney), who gives financial advice to viewers about where and how to invest their money on Wall Street. The director of the show, Patty (Julia Roberts), is a super professional and manages to deal with all of her numbers and unpredictable improvisations on the show, but she is obviously upset and accepts promotion elsewhere. Everything goes on their last live show together until suddenly the young man Kyle (Jack O'Connell) disguised as a courier carrying a gun and an explosive jacket puts it in front of the camera. Kyle is angry because he has lost all his mother's inheritance because he invested them wrong by following Lee's advice. The same company has gone bankrupt for a day, nearly a billion dollars disappear, and thousands of wanted shareholders remain. The situation in the studio becomes hostage, the police are involved, all citizens of New York are watching live and only Patty and a few more people in the team are left to deal with the bumpy situation.

The cast, of course, are the most impressive of all, and they produce a story that would have passed between the drops with other actors. George Clooney persistently chooses the same roles of a selfish, but somewhat sweet, infant (as in "Ave, Cesare!"), Which, however, falls into extreme situations where he has to get a little tired. He can do these things and continues to be super cool guy, but lately we have not seen anything outside his comfort zone. Julia Roberts' voice would calmed me down too if I has bomb around my body, Jack O'Connell, with his appearance on the show, "Skins" has said that it could be the next great British job in Hollywood if he could get Tom Hardy and Tom Hyldston. Maybe he too has to be converted to Tom ... The boy is a 25 years old and has all the prerequisites to get it. It gives a lot of depth and personality to a character that is presented as a collection for the people who go under the middle class somewhere. Very nice appearances also include actors known for their work in television productions such as Giancarlo Espotto, Dominic West and Chris Bauer If in her 2011 directorial debut, Jodie Foster at least participated as an actress for all fans (and they are not a few!) Who want to see her in new roles, then in the "Money Monster" the role behind the camera is nailed and we have to accept that the lady behaves proves this. And obviously she wants to make more commercial movies and hint at uncomfortable topics, another is the question of how successful she is.

"Money Monster" can be considered as a successful experience because the film is measured from any point of view. Do not expect to see what the Wall Street mechanism is like on the screen or a thorough look at corporate machinations, but everything is presented with enough interesting and dynamic enough to go all the way to the finish. The movie, whether intentional or not, is also betting on comic moments. It was deliberately in the speech of Lee Gates, who was caught close to the audience, with a series of shuddering shots of Americans, staring down at a man with a keen twist. And not so deliberately involving Kyle's girlfriend on the show, which may have contributed dramatically, but he might even laugh at you, with one "ouch!" as a bonus. "Money Monster" was featured at Cannes festival before year, where Jodie Foster first defeated at age 12, Julia Roberts was first without shoes, and George Clooney for another year appeared with the same woman - his beautiful wife, Amal. The sum of all these factors brought enough media interest. It is certainly worth seeing because it is a variety in the sea of superheroes, comics and debut comedies. And because it does not matter what the story is, it is well-told. That's it.
