If you had asked anyone in 1996 who Matt Damon or Ben Affleck was, they would have had no idea. However, with Good Will Hunting, they became internationally recognized and respected actors. One of their first significant film, Good Will Hunting, was co-written by the two of them. Matt Damon also stars in the film. Even the script is simply fantastic. For their first attempt at fiction, they did very well.
Will Hunting works as a janitor at a college in the Boston area. It is revealed, by a fascinating series of incidents, that he is indeed one of the greatest math geniuses alive. He is, however, detained. As a result, a math professor agrees to bail him out of jail on two terms set by the court. The first is that he collaborates on mathematics with the professor. The second is that he has a weekly appointment with a doctor.
Will has no objections to the first condition but vehemently opposes the second. However, after consulting with the math professor, he locates a doctor willing to help him. From there, the film is known by its title, Good Will Hunting. You are free to view it as you like.
The cast is nothing short of outstanding. Matt Damon is an excellent choice for the role of Will Hunting. Will's sister, Skylar, is played by Minnie Driver. Ben Affleck also appears as Will's best mate. Finally, Robin Williams plays the role of the psychiatrist masterfully. For their parts, Damon, Williams, and Driver all earned Oscar nominations.
One of the finest films ever made is Good Will Hunting. The cast, crew, and production team for this film deserve every award that came their way. I award it a full 10/10 and strongly advise you to see if you haven't.
