This new series just dropped in the past couple of days. If you haven't seen it already I think it is definitely worth watching. This is precisely the sort of low-commitment viewing that someone like me is looking for and hopefully it will become wildly successful and others will follow suit in the presenatation.
I try to avoid spoilers but since I highly recommend this series... if you want to go in blind, know that I give this a "thumbs up" big time
The fact that the producers from Stranger Things are involved in this series should be a good sign for most people although I am one of the few people in existence that thought that Stranger Things was a bit "meh."
The thing that drew me into this series was their opening sequence that makes you feel as though you have to keep watching in order to figure out what the hell happened to result in "Syd" Novak (the main character, played by Sophia Lillis from the "IT" movies) running down the street covered in blood.
"Syd" is a teenager who is going through rough teenager stuff and that is kind of what all "coming of age" movies and series are about. However, her life is different as she is struggling with the development not just of her body during puberty, but because superpowers are starting to become a part of her life (this is in the trailer so no, it is not a spoiler.)
I almost gave up on the series because after a strong opening we are presented to the full details of Sydney's life and for the most part I find her brooding, I-hate-everyone and everyone-hates-me attitude to be annoying. The high school dynamics of the nerdy bunch, the jocks and the jokers also be a bit too typical for my liking... But then something magical happened: The first episode ended.
I think someone out there has finally realized that the average audience member doesn't actually want a 12 episode, 1 hour per episode series and by making those time and time again they are actually pushing us away as viewers before we even have a chance to get invested in the show.
I am Not OK with This's episodes are all around 20 minutes long and very little of this time is wasted. The episodes get straight to the point and things just flow so well. The next thing you know, you have watched all 7 episodes back-to-back in one sitting and they have us begging for more.
From the official [Netflix](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWOA1ZGywLbqmigxE4Qlvuw) channelMaybe I just have a short attention span but this is exactly the sort of format that I am looking for. I give up on almost all series that I ever start watching unless they are the most epic thing ever. I feel that even good series like Better Call Saul have at least a few episodes that I consider to be unnecessary filler for the sake of filling up a network season and shows like The Punisher dragged on for so long that it killed my interest in what was once one of my favorite comic-book heroes.
They have done, in my opinion, everything right with this series. I watched it in one sitting and was never bored. I feel the same situation will be true for you if you make the correct choice and watch this fantastic production.
