I actually went to go see this movie by accident. We went to a massive theater in Chicago to see Batman, which was playing in 7 theaters but all of them were sold out. The only other theater was playing this and we wanted to see a movie so we went to go see Zoolander; Batman would have to wait.

If you haven't seen it and expect any sort of profound story just throw out that nonsensical thought now. This movie is silly and silly is wonderful sometimes. Enter the world of male modeling with Ben Stiller and his buddy Owen Wilson to see the dark underbelly of the modeling industry.
I know that to this day I can pose for "blue steel" anytime someone is taking photos and at least one of the people in my crew is aware of what i am doing.
this pose is very different from his other poses
Anytime that someone is doing something just slightly dangerous I enjoy quoting the film by saying " Just because we have chiseled abs and stunning features, it doesn't mean that we, too, can't not die in a freak gasoline fight accident."
Derrick's pals were only trying to cheer him up
The film is absurd, but with it being chock full of cameos and ridiculous dialogue between people that think the world of themselves but still somehow lack that capacity to think, it is very entertaining. I laughed a lot (although the sequel was not very good.)
I'm trying to keep it light-hearted tonight so if you find yourself in need of silly laughs, this one is a good one to turn to. As far as comedies are concerned I give this film a 8 / 10. Overall i give it a 6.5 / 10 because, well, it is just too dumb to award any more than that.
