When, probably a decade ago, I first ridiculed Bleach fans that they were waiting for a title that would be terrible shit or shit served on a silver platter (like Pierrot studio did), I was sure that sooner or later I would be able to say those words. I was as confident as Yhwah, the leader of the Quincy. This was due to several reasons, most of them can be reduced to one denominator - the author's skills. He doesn't know how to balance, he doesn't know how to do power level scaling, he doesn't know how to be consistent, he uses the so-called too often. ass-pulle, too many are illogical, they lose their meaning too quickly, or their message is so buried (due to the author's skill), and there are several other reasons. Even though the ending is very basic, it is not original or anything else. I know, generalities, but my brain, tired of writing, saves energy for its book. I had a crisis once while writing it, where for a total of a dozen or so hours, I had to focus on consistency, correcting minor errors and a few large errors which, due to their scale, influenced the rest of the content in different ways. I swore a lot, Aśka asked why I was so angry, because I swore more than usual - in the process, I gained a little more empathy towards Tite, Kishimoto and appreciated the author of "Devilman" and Eiichiro Oda even more. Working in Tite's place, with such a senselessly idiotic way of working (in general, the whole of Japan is shackled by idiotic rules, regulations, rules), I would have made even more mistakes, so I don't criticize him that much... Only that he had special, extra time to finish the most important title of his career, so the overwhelming majority of empathy and understanding has flown away. Not that I'm just criticizing, there are also reasons for which I can praise "Bleach", but not too many.
Coming back to the first sentence, the original I mocked was not much worse than what we finally saw. Yes, it was more unfinished, but the anime was... Just the first big correction after reading the whole thing. The whole thing is not of a very high standard (if the number of errors and chaos is so large that it is much more difficult to notice the cool things in it) or there is too little interesting content, so when cutting out an excessive amount of unnecessary content or during adaptation, such things are more visible (the series, anime or film is a different medium, which makes some of the flaws of the original even more visible - e.g. excessive pacing in the case of the OP anime/series). You know, patching the biggest holes, taking out the pointless elements (I think, I'm not sure here), adding the missing ones, thanks to which the rest makes sense. I got exactly what I knew I would get. It's true that I slightly underestimated Tite, because he can still show great scenes, he has good ideas (usually not very original, but often well presented), and the characters he creates can engage us, but in essence I was not wrong. The new anime "Bleach" is boring and formulaic for me, I get tired of watching it, and if I had an honest and fair approach when looking for logic, even "Dragon Ball Super" probably has more of it. But ok, let's say they are on the same level - then DBZ makes more sense than "Bleach" and I think I could effectively justify it.
Ok, the plot with Zaraki and Unohana was really good, and its consequences too (although I needed Karol's explanation here - the fight with this top-1 Quincy bored me so much that I stopped paying attention to the symbolism, and that's not a bad thing for the author of "Bleach"), but its finalization... Ok, it was difficult to present this thread in a really strong and original way. Fights between people like Broly, Marvel's Hulk or Zaraki are quite fun to watch, but they usually involve one thing - pinning down the opponent with your gargantuan energy. In this case, the fight against an opponent limited only by his own imagination will be quite formulaic. And that alone wouldn't bother me, "Kengan Ashura" or, even better, the duels (even in DBS) showed that it is possible to present a schematic duel in a relatively attractive way. For me, there was nothing like that in this fight - power used like by Granola, who has no combat experience and used his new techniques pointlessly. Like most beginner players who tend to look at the possible Damage Per Second instead of other aspects of a given attack/technique. Besides, the importance of this fight seemed to be great, but I didn't feel it at all. Exactly the same as in the previous episodes of S2 of "Bleach" - except that in those, although I felt some emotions, I liked the scenes... Well, the meteorite cutting was not bad, creating outer space was a great idea (Kenpachi's solution was even better!!!) , but everything else bored me. Not to mention that Kubo Tite went to the extreme and his character had no limits. If anyone is a fan of "Bleach" and didn't spit thick saliva on it, and complains about similar things in HxH or to a lesser extent OP, he is just a hypocrite or a fanboy. The new elements look too much like the old ones, but out of pity I'll leave it out. Years ago I read on forums, before Facebook killed them, analyzes of this arc and the next one. Even if they fix most of it, I can't imagine what they'd have to do to actually like it. Because, as I said, even if Tite has a good idea and develops it well, the conclusion sucks and kills all the hype.
The series offers literally nothing to me. I learned a few cool songs, saw Yamamoto's fight (which I quickly forgot about because Tite ruined it), remembered why I liked this anime in the past (concerning season 1, Aizen's past), but... apart from that, I just wasted my time. If S1 and S2 are the best that Tite could offer me, I don't want to know the rest. Even if they fix it, so what? This is where you should completely ignore the source material and rewrite it! And let me remind you that Quincy are fucking archers!!! Who among them has a bow and why no one? XD After all, these disgusting bastards from Soul Society were supposed to fight with swords and their sometimes strange mutations in the form of Shi Kai or Ban Kai. That's why I'm not even going to watch season 3. I watched 2, I can honestly say I watched shit and I don't want to continue watching it.
Fortunately, I also watch "Pluto". I will talk about it briefly this time, because I plan to write a review of this title in the old style (the earnings on Peakd are lower, so I don't have as much motivation as before + I have "something to do" in my private time ), but I guarantee you that you can watch it blindly. As usual, I haven't seen most of the anime that came out, not even 5%, but I haven't heard anything this year that was as highly praised on the Internet (apart from the anime about this Elf? Freiren... something, I'll definitely watch it too, because I liked the fragment that my friend Paweł gave me. You can see that smart scriptwriters are responsible for them). And even if it was, it is a title created by Osamu Tezuka (one of the Gods of Manga, creator of the iconic Astroboy / Atom, who is also in this anime) and Naoki Urasawa. The young generation may not know him, but the old generation should. He is one of the Geniuses, just like Shinichiro Watanabe, the late Satoshi Kon, Eiichiro Oda, Hiromu Arakawa, Akira Toriyama - a person who has made enormous contributions to Japanese culture, just like Stanisław Lem, Andrzej Sapkowski, the band Behemoth and CDProject Red in the case of the promotion of Poland and our culture.
I won't tell you the plot because I won't want to do it during the review. But now I can guarantee you that you will find references there, similar elements, criticism of various things. The war in Iraq, the development of A.I., racism, psychology, Blade Runner, criticism of war, criticism of the Ku Klux Klan, Stranger Things, Dark (German series), criticism of America, conspiracy theories (if you like reading my entries, I saw a few things there about which I wrote earlier or thought about for a long time), politics, showing the differences between people and machines. Even my partner watches "Pluto" with me, even though she doesn't like anime. The only "flaws" are sparse animation and initially slow pacing, but these are nonsense arguments against the genius of the whole.
Gdy bodajże bodaj dekadę temu, po raz pierwszy wyśmiałem fanów "Bleacha", że czekają na tytuł, który będzie strasznym gównem lub gównem podanym na srebrnej tacy (czyli tak, jak to zrobiło studio Pierrot), byłem pewny że prędzej czy później będę mógł wypowiedzieć te słowa. Byłem tak bardzo pewny siebie, jak Yhwah, przywódca Quincy. Wynikało to z kilku powodów, większość z nich można sprowadzić do jednego mianownika - umiejętności autora. Nie umie on w balans, nie umie w power level scaling, nie umie być konsekwentny, za często stosuje tzw. ass-pulle, zbyt wiele jest nielogicznych tracą one zbyt szybko sens lub ich przesłanie jest tak zakopane (przez umiejętności autora) oraz znajdzie się kilka innych powodów. Choćby to, że zakończenie jest bardzo bazowe, nie cechuje się oryginalnością ani w sumie niczym innym. Wiem, ogólniki, no ale mój zmęczony pisaniem mózg oszczędza siły na swoją książkę. Już raz przy jej pisaniu miałem pewien kryzys, gdzie przez sumarycznie kilkanaście godzin, musiałem skupić się na spójności, poprawie drobnych błędzików, paru dużych błędów, które swoim wagomiarem oddziaływały na resztę treści w różny sposób. Kląłem przy tym dużo, Aśka pytała o co się tak wkurzyłem, bo przeklinam więcej niż zwykle - w trakcie nabyłem trochę więcej empatii wobec Tite, Kishimoto oraz jeszcze bardziej doceniłem autora "Devilman", czy Eiichiro Odę. Ja pracując na miejscu Tite, przy tak bezsensownie idiotycznym trybie pracy (generalnie cała Japonia jest spętana idiotycznymi zasadami, przepisami, regułami), popełniłbym ich jeszcze więcej, więc go aż tak nie krytykuję... Tylko że miał specjalny, dodatkowy czas, aby zakończyć najważniejszy tytuł w swej karierze, więc miażdżąca większość empatii i zrozumienia odleciała. Żeby nie było, że tylko krytykuję, są też powody, za które mogę pochwalić "Bleacha", ale niezbyt wiele.
Wracając do 1 zdania, pierwowzór który wyśmiewałem nie był znacznie gorszy od tego, co finalnie zobaczyliśmy. Owszem był bardziej niedopracowany, ale anime było... Taką pierwszą dużą poprawką po przeczytaniu całości. Całości która nie prezentuje zbyt wysokiego poziomu (jeżeli ilość błędów i chaosu, jest tak duża, że dużo trudniej jest w niej dostrzec te fajne rzeczy) albo jest zbyt mało ciekawej treści, przez co przy wycinaniu nadmiernej ilości zbędnej treści lub przy adaptacji, takie rzeczy są bardziej widoczne (serial, anime lub film to inne medium, dzięki niemu niektóre wady pierwowzoru są jeszcze bardziej widoczne - np. nadmierny pacing w przypadku anime / serialu OP). Takie wiecie, załatanie największych dziur, wywalenie bezsensownych elementów (chyba, tu nie mam pewności), dodanie brakujących, dzięki czemu reszta nabiera sensu. Dostałem dokładnie to, co wiedziałem że dostanę. Co prawda trochę nie doceniłem Tite, bo nadal potrafi pokazać super sceny, miewa dobre pomysły (zazwyczaj niezbyt oryginalne, ale często dobrze przedstawione), a wykreowane przez niego postacie mogą nas zaangażować, ale w swej istocie nie pomyliłem się. Nowe anime "Bleach", jest dla mnie nudne, schematyczne, męczę się przy jego oglądaniu, a gdybym miał uczciwie i sprawiedliwe podejście przy szukaniu logiki, to chyba nawet "Dragon Ball Super" ma jej więcej. Ale ok, powiedzmy że są na tym samym poziomie - w takim razie DBZ ma więcej sensu niż "Bleach" i myślę, że mógłbym to skutecznie uzasadnić.
Ok, wątek z Zarakim i Unohaną był naprawdę dobry, jego konsekwencje też (choć tu potrzebowałem wyjaśnienia Karola - pojedynek z tym top-1 Quincy mnie tak znudził, że przestałem zwracać uwagę na symbolikę, a to wychodzi autorowi "Bleacha" nie najgorzej), ale jego finalizacja... Ok, trudno było przedstawić w naprawdę mocny i oryginalny sposób ten wątek. Walki ludzi typu Broly, Hulk z Marvela czy Zaraki, ogląda się całkiem fajnie, ale zazwyczaj polegają na jednej rzeczy - na przygwożdżeniu przeciwnika swoją gargantuiczną energią. Walka z przeciwnikiem, którego ogranicza tylko jego własna wyobraźnia w tym przypadku zazwyczaj będzie dość schematyczna. I samo to by mi nie przeszkadzało, "Kengan Ashura" lub co lepsze pojedynki (nawet w DBS) pokazały, że można przedstawić schematyczny pojedynek w miarę atrakcyjne sposób. Dla mnie w tym starciu nic takiego nie było - moc wykorzystywana jak przez Granolę, który nie ma doświadczenia bojowego i wykorzystywał swoje nowe techniki bez sensu. Tak jak większość początkujących graczy, którzy patrzą zazwyczaj na możliwy Damage Per Second zamiast na inne aspekty danego ataku / danej techniki. Poza tym, niby waga tego pojedynku była duża, ale kompletnie jej nie czułem. Dokładnie tak samo jak we wcześniejszych odcinkach S2 "Bleacha" - tylko że przy tamtych chociaż czułem jakieś emocje, podobały mi się sceny... No cięcie meteorytu było nie najgorsze, stworzenie przestrzeni kosmicznej było super pomysłem (rozwiązanie Kenpachiego jeszcze lepsze!!!), ale cała reszta mnie znudziła. Nie wspominając o tym, że Kubo Tite posunął się do ekstremum i jego postać nie miała żadnych ograniczeń. Jeżeli ktokolwiek jest fanem "Bleacha" i nie pluł na to gęstą śliną, a narzeka na podobne rzeczy w HxH lub w mniejszym stopniu OP, to jest zwykłym hipokrytą lub fanboyem. Nowe elementy za bardzo przypominają stare, ale z litości pominę to. Lata temu czytałem na forach, zanim Facebook je zabił, analizy tego i kolejnego arcu. Nawet jeśli poprawią większość tego, to nie jestem sobie w stanie wyobrazić, co by musieli zrobić, by mi się to naprawdę spodobało. Bo tak jak mówiłem, nawet jeśli Tite ma dobry pomysł, nieźle go rozwija, to konkluzja ssie pałkę i zabija cały hype.
Serial nie oferuje mi dosłownie niczego. Poznałem kilka fajnych utworów, zobaczyłem walkę Yamamoto (o której równie szybko zapomniałem, bo Tite bardzo ją popsuł), przypomniałem sobie za co dawniej lubiłem to anime (dotyczy 1 sezonu, przeszłości Aizena), ale... poza tym jedynie zmarnowałem czas. Skoro S1 i S2 to najlepsze, co mi mógł zaoferować Tite, to ja nie chcę znać reszty. Nawet jeśli ją poprawią, to co z tego? Tu należy całkowicie zignorować materiał źródłowy i napisać to na nowo! No i pragnę przypomnieć, że Quincy to pieprzeni łucznicy!!! Kto z nich ma łuk i dlaczego nikt? XD Przecież to te obrzydliwe gnoje z Soul Society miały walczyć mieczami i ich czasem dziwacznymi mutacjami w formie Shi Kai lub Ban Kai. Dlatego 3 sezonu nawet nie zamierzam oglądać. Obejrzałem 2, mogę uczciwie powiedzieć, że obejrzałem gówno i nie chcę dalej go oglądać.
Na całe szczęście, oglądam również "Pluto".O nim tym razem będzie krótko, bo planuję napisać recenzję tego tytułu w starym stylu (zarobki na Peakd są mniejsze, więc nie mam takiej motywacji, co dawniej + mam "co robić" w czasie prywatnym), ale gwarantuję Wam, że możecie oglądać to w ciemno. Standardowo nie widziałem większości anime, jakie wyszły, ba nawet nie 5%, ale nie słyszałem by cokolwiek w tym roku było równie mocno chwalone w sieci (poza anime o tej Elfce? Freiren... coś tam, je również na pewno obejrzę, bo podobał mi się fragment, który dał mi kolega Paweł. Widać że odpowiadają za nie mądrzy scenarzyści). A nawet jeśli było, to jest to tytuł który stworzyli Osamu Tezuka (jeden z Bogów Mangi, twórca kultowego Astroboya / Atoma, który też jest w tym anime) i Naoki Urasawa. Młode pokolenie może go nie zna, ale stare powinno. To jeden z Geniuszy, tak jak Shinichiro Watanabe, świętej pamięci Satoshi Kon, Eiichiro Oda, Hiromu Arakawa, Akira Toriyama - osoba która ma gigantyczne zasługi dla Japońskiej kultury, tak jak Stanisław Lem, Andrzej Sapkowski, zespół Behemoth i CDProject Red w przypadku promocji Polski i naszej kultury.
Fabuły nie będę opowiadał, bo nie będzie mi się chciało tego potem robić przy recenzji. Ale już teraz mogę Wam zagwarantować, że znajdziecie tam nawiązania, podobne elementy, krytykę różnych rzeczy. Nawet moja partnerka ogląda ze mną "Pluto", mimo że nie przepada za anime. Jedyne "wady" to oszczędna animacja i początkowo wolny pacing, ale to bzdurne argumenty wobec geniuszu całości.
