My Review

As with all of my reviews I will not go into the plot

Isle of Dogs is a 2018 stop-motion animated comedy film written, produced and directed by Wes Anderson. It is a beautiful film with amazing cinematography. The story is unique and borders on the mythical. I could not get over the colors, and the visual richness.

On the surface the story is about a rescue mission, but if you look deeper Isle of Dogs explores the manipulation of Governments, the corruption of said Governments, and the power of the press for both good and evil.

There were a couple things that I did not like. The main one is that there were not subtitles for the Japanese, and that what the Japanese speakers were saying were told through characters that were either translators or narrators.

The other thing was the monotone speech of the dogs. This made the dreary of the story even more dreary.

Rating - B (Worth the price of the ticket and a popcorn)

I would recommend that you see this just based on the beauty of the film, and the uniqueness of it.
