Review

Click here for the review of the first episode (I won't rehash what was covered in the article)

I binged watched Season 2 on Sunday, and wanted to re-watch a couple of the episodes before I wrote this review just to be sure I had it right.

Positive Features:

  • I loved the characters, and their development in Season 2, which is an origin story for Jessica (who is one of my favorite Marvel new universe characters). What happens with Trish, Malcolm, and Hogarth, will entertain you and make you want to see Season 3.
  • The exposition of Jessica's tragedies.
  • The lack of humor. I'm so tired of the campy Marvel jokes.
  • The no nonsense depiction of the casual sexual relationships, and violence.
  • The vulnerabilities of all the major characters.

There were a number of problems which are as follows:

  • Pryce Cheng. This story arch was a waste of time.
  • No real villain. This was the most disappointing thing.
  • Something happens in the final episodes which was totally unnecessary.
  • Some side stories are not resolved and it is unlikely they will continue in Season 3.
  • Defenders may have messed the solo series up because since they all worked together you would think they would help when big issues develop.

Rating - B minus (Worth the price of the ticket and a popcorn)
