My Review
As with all of my reviews I will not go into the plot
Rampage is a convoluted movie with some bad acting, and bad writing. To show you how convoluted this movie is you meet three characters at the start of the movie (they appear in the trailer) and after the first act they are no where to be seen, and then you get a new character Dr. Kate Caldwell (played by Naomie Harris). Now I didn't miss those initial characters because they were so annoying, but they shouldn't have been there in the first place.
The next problem is that you see a LOT of innocent people die in the "rampage." If this was a horror movie it would be OK, but it seemed so out of place in this action adventure.
There are also some interesting physics problems as the bad guys turn on a beacon and the animals over a thousand miles away pick it up immediately ignoring things like the speed of sound.
Also, as like in San Andreas the Rock survives some incredible situations. Since both movies were directed by Brad Peyton this is understandable.
The only cool thing was the CGI was pretty good except for the alligator.
On the whole I would not recommend you spend money to see this movie. If you have a MoviePass card they go and see it in the theater as some parts are fun.
Rating - D (A Movie Pass Movie and no popcorn)
