Llegó por fin la temporada navideña de este año y con ella, comienzan a aparecer todas las producciones con temática navideña en nuestras pantallas, unas producciones viejas que se han convertido en clásicos de estas fechas y otras que buscan la manera de convertirse también en clásicos navideños.

El ejemplo perfecto de este último ejemplo es la producción que recientemente, el pasado 10 de Noviembre, Netflix estrenó en su plataforma la película navideña protagonizada por Lindsay Lohan y Chord Overstreet, titulada "Falling for Christmas", una comedia romántica (con algo de humor) que narra el acontecer en un pueblo turístico montañoso en la víspera de noche buena.

El regreso de Lindsay Lohan

No creo que ser único que esperaba volver a ver a Lindsay Lohan actuar nuevamente, creo que era algo que genuinamente disfruté ver, es una actriz muy preparada, sus tiempos para la comedia son impecables, sutiles y bastante visibles a la vista del espectador. Me contentó mucho verla actuar otra vez, había olvidado cuando había sido la última película que yo vi de ella y aún no recuerdo cuál fue; lo importante es que hizo un regreso a la actuación bastante diferente.

I don't think I'm the only one hoping to see Lindsay Lohan act again, I think it was something I genuinely enjoyed watching, she's a very prepared actress, her comedy timings are impeccable, subtle and quite watchable through the viewer's view. I was very happy to see her act again, I had forgotten when the last movie I saw of her had been and I still don't remember what it was; what's important is that she made a rather different acting comeback.

Sigue manteniendo esa chispa "Disney" que la caracterizó durante las producciones que realizó para ellos, lo hizo su sello personal y lo pude ver en esta película. Su actuación me gustó, la recordé en cada papel que la he visto hacer anteriormente, no cambió en nada y no perdió nada en el ámbito profesional, sigue siendo la misma en términos de actuación.

She continues to maintain that spark "Disney" that characterized her during the productions she made for them, she made it her personal stamp and I could see it in this film. I liked her performance, I remembered her in every role I've seen her do before, she didn't change at all and she didn't lose anything professionally, she's still the same in terms of acting.

Por esa una película de corte navideño, tipo "Hallmark ", el ánimo, las expresiones y todo lo relacionado con la narrativa debe ser alegre hasta rallar casi en lo exagerado, por momentos su actuación se sintió así, pero entiendo de donde viene puesto que el género requiere ese tipo de acercamiento. Sin duda, mis momentos favoritos fueron los relacionado con la comedia física, aunque no fueron muchos (un recurso muy bien implementado) me los disfruté.

For that a Christmas-style film, type "Hallmark ", the mood, the expressions and everything related to the narrative must be cheerful to the point of almost being exaggerated, at times his performance felt like that, but I understand where it comes from since the genre requires that kind of approach. Undoubtedly, my favorite moments were those related to physical comedy, although there weren't many (a very well implemented resource) I enjoyed them.

La película transcurre de forma acelerada, todos los acontecimientos se montan uno encima del otro, eso me pareció extraño, no dieron mucho tiempo para procesar todo lo que iba ocurriendo tan pronto la película avanzaba. Pudieron haberla alargado algunos minutos más, ya que con 1 y media de película se quedaron cortos en algunas partes.

The film passes in an accelerated way, all the events are mounted one on top of the other, that seemed strange to me, they did not give much time to process everything that was happening as soon as the film progressed. They could have extended it a few more minutes, since with 1 and a half of the film they fell short in some parts.

Hay pequeños vacíos en el guión que pueden ser justificados pero no sabría decir ciertamente como hacerlo. También hay pocos momentos sentimentales y creo que pudieron jugar un poco más con eso, no todo en navidad es alegría, luces y regalos, pero creo que cubrieron hasta cierto punto lo suficiente, aunque siempre se puede hacer algo más.

There are small gaps in the script that can be justified but I couldn't say for sure how to do it. There are also few sentimental moments and I think they could have played a little more with that, not everything in Christmas is joy, lights and gifts, but I think they covered enough to a certain extent, although something more can always be done.

The setting of the entire film was impeccable, although to carry it out it is not necessary to be exaggerated with what it uses so that the viewer knows that it is a Christmas movie, I think they used the necessary amount, even snow, to reflect the Christmas scenes of North American mountain towns.

Personalmente, creo que volvería a verla pero el año próximo, no sería una película que vaya a ver durante otra temporada que no fuese navidad, como sé que lo harán muchos. Fue agradable ver a Chord Overstreet actuando otra vez, es un músico increíble y un actor prometedor.
