Predominant events in the story
A story based on real events, which shows us how difficult it is to live in a place where women are seen only as sexual objects, or people as merchandise, as if it were a car or a house; in a cruel world, where men take advantage of the weakest, for their own benefit.
I think about this, and unfortunately, it is something that still exists, maybe not in the same way, but the abuse of power, the violence, both against women and children, are facts, that no matter where you live or where you come from, you still can't escape from all of this.
In this film we can see how both women and men seek to survive in a place where abuse, slavery and the hunting of humans has become their worst nightmare.
Synopsis
In the 1820s, the kingdom of Dahomey, in Africa, is embroiled in a war to fight for their freedom. Led by their General, a woman, and her female militia, they will give everything to protect their people from their enemies and avoid being enslaved.
Arguments.
The woman King, is a title that is not given to just anyone, you must earn it, and thus have a place next to the King, being a person of great influence, admired, respected and feared by all; this is how the general Nanisca, has forged her way, from very young, after overcoming terrible traumas and attacks, and now only fights so that no other woman suffers what she lived.
A struggle for power and survival is what we see in this story, where women are trained to fight and battle their enemies, becoming professional assassins, using their best weapons to fight those who decide to attack them.
It is a well handled story, although it did not have great fight scenes, and epic moments, it is worth it, it has impeccable scenes, some bloody, full of horror and impotence, but that show the harsh reality that was lived at that time, at least a part of it.
Women Warriors
Viola Davis plays a powerful warrior called Nanisca, a woman of strong character, aggressive, with an imposing skin colour, without fear, without mercy, with the only objective of defending her people, and her king, together with her faithful and her rebellious militia made up of only women, together they will face their great enemies, people of their own land, who allied to the Europeans want to take them over, and turn them into slaves, both them and their tribe.
I think it is the first time, I see this great actress, embodying a role of such magnitude, she certainly did it very well, an impeccable performance, unique, with a deep look.
On the other hand, we also have a young recruit who wants to join and be part of this group of women, Nawi (Thuso Mbedu), she is a stubborn, rebellious girl, who confronts even her general, all for not wanting to follow orders, and prove that she deserves to be there by their side, fighting with them.
These powerful women will be at the centre of this story, as they will clash, but at the same time unite, in order to protect themselves, save their clan and keep their enemies under control and away from them.
Plot facts.
Love, hate, violence, aggression, power, are some of the events that we will see in this film, as I mentioned, this story is based on real events, which means that this group of women really existed, where they fought and killed without mercy, without compassion, where they had to be stronger and braver than men.
I can imagine that constant fight between the two, no man likes to be defeated by a woman, that's where his pride, his ego is hurt, and this fight between the two, must not have been easy, it's something we still see, in today's time, somehow, of course we are more advanced, the mentality is different, and there is gender equality.
Here we can see a surrealist twist of scenes, characteristic of that time, that emanates the history of Africa, at that time, with its typical costumes, its spears, knives, surrounded by its culture.
Conclusion.
The Woman King is a film that is worth seeing if you like this type of story, although as we know, one thing is what we show through these films, as the real events, would have to delve a little, to learn more about it.
This film has a duration of two hours, like any story, it starts a little slow, but as it goes on, it changes, with some empty scenes, which do not show great impact, however, they are few, the rest of the story, make sense.

Sucesos que predominan en la historia
Una historia basada en hechos reales, donde nos muestra lo difícil que es vivir en un lugar donde ven a las mujeres solo como objetos sexuales, o a las personas como mercancías, como si fuera un carro o una casa cualquiera; en un mundo cruel, en el que el hombre se aprovecha de los más débiles, para su beneficio propio.
Pienso en esto, y lamentablemente, es algo que aún se mantiene, quizás no de la misma forma, pero si sigue existiendo el abuso de poder, la violencia, tanto contra las mujeres como a los niños, son hechos, que no importa el lugar donde vivas o provengas, igual no escapas de todo esto.
En esta película podemos visualizar, como tanto las mujeres como los hombres, buscan sobrevivir en un lugar en el que el maltrato, la esclavitud, y la caza de humanos se ha convertido en su peor pesadilla.
Sinopsis
En los años 1820, el reino de Dahomey, en África, se ve envuelto en una guerra por la lucha hacia su libertad, estos dirigidos por su General, una mujer, y su milicia femenina, darán todo por proteger a su pueblo de sus enemigos, y evitar ser esclavizados.
Argumentos.
La mujer Rey, es un título que no se le da a cualquiera, debes ganártelo, y de esta forma tener un lugar junto al Rey, siendo una persona de mucha influencia, admirada, respetada y temida por todos; es así como la general Nanisca, se ha forjado su camino, desde muy joven, luego de superar terribles traumas y ataques, y ahora solo lucha para que ninguna otra mujer sufra lo que ella vivió.
Una lucha de poder y sobrevivencia, es lo que podemos ver en esta historia, donde las mujeres son entrenadas para pelear, y batallar con sus enemigos, convirtiéndose en asesinas profesionales, haciendo uso de sus mejores armas, para así poder combatir a aquellos que decidan atacarlas.
Es una historia bien manejada, a pesar de que no tuvo grandes escenas de peleas, y momentos épicos, vale la pena, cuenta con escenas impecables, algunas sangrientas, llenas de horror e impotencia, pero que muestran la dura realidad que se vivía en esa época, por lo menos una parte.
Mujeres Guerreras
Viola Davis interpreta a una poderosa guerrera llamada Nanisca, una mujer de carácter fuerte, agresivo, con un color de piel imponente, sin miedos, sin piedad, con el único objetivo de defender su pueblo, y a su rey, junto con sus fieles y su rebelde milicia conformada por solo mujeres, juntas se enfrentarán a sus grandes enemigos, gente de su misma tierra, qué aliados a los europeos desean adueñarse de ellas, y convertirlas en esclavas, tanto a ellas como a su tribu.
Creo que es la primera vez, que veo a esta gran actriz, personificando un papel tal magnitud, sin duda lo hizo muy bien, una actuación impecable, única, con una mirada profunda.
Por otra parte, también tenemos a una joven recluta que desea unirse y formar parte de este grupo de mujeres, Nawi (Thuso Mbedu), es una chica testaruda, rebelde, que se enfrenta incluso a su general, todo por no querer seguir órdenes, y demostrar que merece estar allí a su lado, peleando con ellas.
Estas poderosas mujeres serán el centro de esta historia, ya que ellas se enfrentarán, pero a la vez se unirán, con tal de protegerse, salvar su clan y tener a sus enemigos controlados y alejados de ellos.
Hechos de la trama.
Amor, odio, violencia, agresión, poder, son algunos de los eventos que veremos en esta película, como bien les mencione, esta historia dicen que es basada en hechos reales, lo que significa que este grupo de mujeres realmente existieron, donde peleaban y mataban sin piedad, sin compasión, donde tenían que ser más fuertes y valientes que los hombres.
Me imagino esa lucha constante entre ambos, a ningún hombre le gusta ser vencido por una mujer, es allí donde su orgullo, su ego se ve herido, y esta pelea entre ambos, no debió ser fácil, es algo que aún vemos, en la época actual, de alguna forma, claro ya estamos más avanzados, la mentalidad es otra, y existe la igualdad de géneros.
Aquí podemos ver un giro de escenas surrealistas, característico de aquella época, que emana la historia de África, para ese entonces, con sus trajes típicos, sus lanzas, cuchillos, rodeado de su cultura.
Conclusión.
La Mujer Rey, es un film que vale la pena ver, si te gusta este tipo de historias, aunque como bien sabemos, una cosa es lo que nos muestran a través de estas películas, como los sucesos verdaderos, habría que ahondar un poco, para conocer más sobre ello.
Dicha película tiene una duración de dos horas, como toda historia, comienza un poco lenta, pero a medida que va transcurriendo, va cambiando, con sus escenas algunas vacías, que no muestran gran impacto, sin embargo, son pocas, el resto de la historia, tienen sentido.
