Comenzamos en una estación espacial de regreso a la tierra, que concluimos debe llamarse sputnik. Aquí podemos ver a dos tripulantes, el capitán Konstantin y a Averchenko, los cuales están tratando de dirigir eficazmente su descenso hacia la tierra en comunicación con la base de sus datos técnicos Averchenko empieza a cantar y a decir lo que quiere hacer al llegar a la tierra, como bañarse con agua caliente y cantar una melodía, mientras averchenko canta pierden el control de la nave y son despedidos a dar vueltas sobre su propio eje imposibilitando su descenso, de varias maniobras el capitán redirecciona la nave hasta estabilizar. Konstantin le ordena a Averchenko que esté al tanto de las ventanas ya que así puede estar al tanto de la órbita pero averchenko más que eso visualiza algo afuera de la nave.
