Hello all members of the Movies&TV Show's community, as I mentioned recently, I try to watch one movie a week and I'm sticking to the plan for now. About a week ago I was talking on the discord server and a friend of mine (@derangedvisions) told me that this is the next movie I should watch. I looked up the plot, watched the trailer and was quite impressed. I put it at the top of my to-watch list and watched it this morning. I can't wait to share it with you, let's go!

Introduction
The movie was released late last month, so it's very new. You should also know that it has a true story. That's one of the things that impressed me the most. The real story it is based on happened in Thailand in 2018. You can find more information about it by searching online. The IMBD score of the movie is already 7.8. That's pretty good, which I think will go up a lot more in the coming days. You will see my score at the end of the article.
Description
The genre of the movie is action adventure and biography. I think the forgotten genre here is thriller. This movie is a real thriller. Especially if you have claustrophobia. We can even call it horror. I've never been in such a situation before, but I felt a little bit breathless while watching this movie. I also think there is an emotional aspect to the movie. I almost cried a couple of times. The fact that it was based on a true story may have triggered this, I don't know.

The lead actors of the movie are Viggo Mortensen as Rick Stanson, Collin Farrell as John Volanthen and Joel Edgerton as Harry Harris. I must say that Viggo and John did a great job. Actually, it would be wrong to say that there was a bad actor in this movie, but I think the performances of the lead actors are the most important for the overall movie. That's why it's worth giving them a parenthesis.
At the beginning of the movie, the boys playing soccer decide to go to the cave. Their coach goes there to keep an eye on them. Normally they do this because there is no rainfall expected in those days, but I still don't understand why they go that far. It's too risky a place to seek adventure and people shouldn't do that. Anyway, the cave is very big and the boys go quite deep and as they are going deep, suddenly it starts raining unexpectedly. And what rain! It's raining cats and dogs! The cave starts to flood and the kids are trapped inside.
The parents get worried and they go and see that the kids are trapped. The pain they went through really hurt my heart. They told everyone they could find and soon the story spread around the world. Two special divers come from America. These are our leads Rick and John. The Thai divers who entered the cave before can't move forward until they find the children, but Rick and John succeed. In the meantime, you have to give credit to the people working outside to prevent the water from coming in. They are blocking the holes on the cave. Also, all this water has to be diverted somewhere. Water is diverted to the fields where there are lots of crops and the field owners accept this without hesitation for the sake of the children.
Rick and John find the children and they are hungry and exhausted because they have been there for so long. And the time they dive until they find the children was one of the scenes that really took my breath away. They found the kids and they were all alive. Rick and John thought the kids were already dead. The fact that they were alive caused great joy in everyone. But it also brought a big problem. How are they going to get the kids out of there? This is a really big problem, considering that no adult human being has ever been able to dive a much shorter distance without panicking.
They are taking enough food for the children for a week. A diver dies in the cave trying to get more for the children. This is a real life thing, and this is one of the scenes where I came close to crying. Saman Kunan dies trying to help the children, RIP. What he did deserves the respect of the whole world.
Every hour that the children are trapped inside is against them because the onset of the monsoon is approaching and that means prolonged downpours. They think for a long time but they can't think of anything and I did too when I watched the movie but I couldn't come up with anything. Then Rick comes up with a crazy idea. It's really crazy because what he thinks is to anesthetize the kids and put them to sleep and get them out of there. I don't know if that's ever been tried in real life, what they say in the movie is that it's never been tried before. For this, someone who is both a diver and a doctor comes from the US and they tell him the idea. That's why they call him there. And this is our other lead Harry.
Harry finds the idea crazy and says it's not possible to implement it. As time passes, they realize that there is no other way and they meet with the governor and the minister to put this idea into practice. The governor approves the idea but says it has to be secret. Because if people find out about it, they may oppose it and the process may take longer. I think that's normal because I wouldn't want my son to be put to sleep and taken out of there. It doesn't seem logical or possible. The preparations are completed, the divers are given a lesson on how to give the anesthesia injections and then... I won't tell you the rest, like every movie review, it's better to watch and see for yourself. I think it increases your curiosity about the movie and your desire to watch it.
Opinions
This movie is one of the most gripping movies I have ever seen and I highly recommend you to watch it. I lost track of time while watching it. The struggle of real life people trying to save those children is unbelievable. They definitely portrayed it well in the movie, you can be sure of that. Some movies leave you with a lot of unanswered questions and I don't like that. I don't have any questions about this movie. And that's a good point for me. The plot is really well done and there's not much that happens where you're like, how did they do that, that's impossible.
Conclusions
It's definitely a masterpiece that I recommend you to watch. The only obstacle to watching the movie may be its duration. The movie is about 150 minutes and that is quite long. But if you watch it, I am sure you will see that it is definitely worth it. Yes, I can guarantee that. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the making of this movie. Ron Howard, the director of the movie, did a great job. Personally, I can say it's one of the top 20 movies I've ever seen. My score is 9.5 out of 10.
