Hotel Transylvania {review}

Review by @intishar 🏆#150 🎵5 🎬2 📺3 · 9h · of Hotel Transylvania · 2 views

Hotel Transylvania is an animated comedy film released in 2012 and I think that most of the people have already watched it. I am quite confident that in my childhood I watched it, but I couldn’t remember anything about it. Recently one of my students mentioned that and I decided to watch it as in his opinion it was a good one to watch. The duration was 1 hour and 31 minutes and that’s why I just need to manage that amount of time to watch it.

Count Dracula made a castle in a hidden place that’s far from humans and his intention was to protect monsters from humans. The name of the castle is Hotel Transylvania. He thinks that humans are the threat to monsters as he had a painful past which cost his wife’s life. Another intention of building Hotel Transylvania was to protect his daughter from humans. He was quite overprotective father. He didn’t allow her daughter to go out for 118 years, but he promised his daughter to allow her to go and see outside world after 118 years when she will be capable of protecting herself.

He allowed his daughter to go outside of hotel in a human village, but the actions of humans made her scared which was scripted by Count Dracula and she returned to hotel and decided not to go outside. Situation became complicated when a young human traveler (Jonathan) accidentally found the place. At the beginning he was quite afraid to know that he was the first human in the hotel and others were monsters.

Later he got used to the situation. All the monsters found him interesting without knowing that he was a human. Actually, most of the monsters liked him as he made them laugh doing funny things and making things interesting. And the daughter of Count Dracula fell in love with him. Even if Jonathan liked her, he refused as he was afraid of his overprotective father. Later when he left, Count Dracula realized that he was isolating her daughter from real happiness because of his fear. He realized that rather than being overprotective, it’s better for her daughter to experience everything by herself and make enjoy her own journey. Later Count Dracula brought Jonathan back with great difficulties for her daughter’s sake.

I think that such kind of action represents the concern issues of parents and how they become overprotective to us for the name of protecting us. The plot was simple but somehow it was ok, but I don’t want to give high rating for it. I am giving 65 out of 100 for Hotel Transylvania. I hope the next 3 parts will be more interesting.

    This is a good animated movie. This movie left a lasting impression on me because I was traveling to another city for a conference and went to the movies that night—they just happened to be showing this movie.
