Greetings, I received the invitation from @nathyortiz to participate in Contest #37 of the CineTv community, which tries to share a film about work, but that is a very personal publication about how this film is related to our work experience, I chose the movie Miss Potter, which is about Beatrix Potter, a woman who is an illustrator and story writer who manages to be published, her books become a total success, she suffers some personal disagreements but in short it is a success story, a woman who empowered by her art.

Artistic work has been considered a privilege and we agree on that, because job opportunities are always limited when there is no financial support, that is why in the old days there were patrons, that is, sponsors for artists, However, even when artists or artisans can come from modest or economically poor family backgrounds, there is always the belief that artists can die of hunger, this is not necessarily the case, but it hurts that only a large percentage of people with talent artists are unable to live off the income from their work, that is, without having any kind of extra income, I saw a lot of this when I studied Plastic Arts at university.

The movie Miss Potter is one of my favorites, however, the reasons why I identify with the protagonist are not because of her origins, in fact she comes from an economically well-off family and this has allowed her to have privileges, these privileges are power develop her ability to draw and write without having to worry about her livelihood, however, her way of being and her art are not taken seriously until she finally gets her first publication of one of her illustrated books.

Currently for me illustration and writing have been left a bit to the side, devoting myself almost entirely to the relationship of crochet figures, publishing tutorials or just showing my work on Hive I can get an income thanks to the publication, that is, that I also focus on writing and other skills that a Blogger should have and that I have also learned at an academic level, but one thing is for sure, both Miss Potter and I create figures that are considered childish by others, many people who know my work do not they have taken it seriously, they see it as a hobby, as something that shows immaturity on my part, something that is also criticized in the film's protagonist, who in her creative process her animals and characters come to life in her imagination, something that is also It happens to me when I'm making crochet figures, so much so that it hurts me to say goodbye to one of my figures when I manage to sell it.

For me, independent artistic work is very difficult and not all of us have the advantage of Miss Potter who never worried about the lack of food on her table, but she faced other difficulties such as being a woman in a publishing world dominated by men. , she dared to leave the bubble where her parents had raised her and empower herself as a strong and independent woman , later buying farms and leading a quiet life thanks to the publication of her books .

In artistic work you are very economically vulnerable, sometimes you are successful and sometimes you are not, but when it is done independently, it generates an important link with your own work, that is, you have to love what you do, that is the only way to find peace, being aware of the risk that being an artist means, that is, even when there are commitments acquired through contacts for works or publications, I think that the best lesson that the Miss Potter Movie left for me in the workplace is that you have to work in those that make us happy and in some way the personal satisfaction that we all yearn for will be achieved, you have to be firm in your goals and at the same time sensitive so as not to lose creativity, the most exciting part of the film in my opinion is when Miss Potter She makes her parents, and especially her mother, understand that she is a grown woman, a female artist and published writer who has made a lot of money selling her books.
