In her adaptation of Jennifer Mathieu's acclaimed novel, director Amy Poehler creates a vibrant story of self-improvement filled with heart and empowering messages.

Newcomer Hadley Robinson shines as shy teen Vivian, who finds her confident voice through a zine denouncing toxic masculinity in her high school.

Robinson leads a charismatic cast featuring Alycia Pascual-Peña and Josephine Langford, who bring dimensionality and closeness to their experiences.

Poehler infuses the film with infectious energy and humor without undermining the timely feminist themes, treating teens and issues with sensitivity but without fear.

The exceptional soundtrack evokes '90s nostalgia, perfectly complementing the riot grrl undertones that provoke change among her peers.

In her brilliant directorial debut, Poehler demonstrates her natural talent behind the camera, balancing meaningful messages of girl power with the spirit of youthful rebellion. Poignant and thought-provoking.

A wonderful addition to the coming-of-age canon that affirms Generation Z and highlights the important conversations young women are leading today. An uplifting crowd-pleaser.
