Hola amigos de Hive, quienes ya han leído mis post de cine, saben que me gusta mayormente las películas de terror y de suspenso, por lo que en esta ocasión les traigo la reseña de Rust Creek, una película de suspenso producida en 2018, que si bien no es nada épica, me ha gustado bastante, pues su historia es buena y poco predecible, algo que mantiene la atención del espectador.

Rust Creek fue dirigida por Jen McGowan una cineasta (directora , actriz y productora) perteneciente a la Alliance of Women Directors (alianza de mujeres directoras), algo que llamó mi atención, pues cada vez son más las mujeres que asumen roles como estos, que nos brindan nuevas perspectivas y un abordaje distinto en cuanto a dirección cinematográfica, lo cual creo que es muy enriquecedor.

Como protagonista tenemos a Hermione Corfield en el papel de Scott Sawyer, una chica que emprende una largo recorrido en carretera para asistir a una entrevista de trabajo, pero su GPS parece indicarle la dirección de manera incorrecta, asi que detiene su vehículo en plena carretera, en la que es abordada por unos maleantes y se ve obligada a huir hacia el bosque para salvar su vida, sin embargo, se ve completamente pérdida, incapaz de encontrar el camino de regreso a la carretera principal.

Posteriormente la desaparición de esta chica pone en riesgo a los maleantes, quienes son fabricantes de metanfetaminas, pues su laboratorio escondido en el bosque, puede verse descubierto tras la búsqueda de las autoridades de la chica desparecida, por lo que estos deben encontrarla viva o muerta para distraer la atención de las autoridades sobre la zona.

El desempeño actoral de Corfield como protagonista es muy bueno, cuando se ha perdido en el bosque con una fuerte herida por una puñalada en su pierna, nos hace creer que realmente no saldrá viva de allí, se muestra absolutamente perdida, desvalida y vulnerable.

Este film maneja muy bien el suspenso, y su historia se desarrolla de manera poco predecible, algo que considero un plus tomando en cuenta esa sensación de expectativa y tensión que generan las películas de este género.

Si he de sacar una reflexión de este film, diría que nos invita a ser precavidos, a no tomar decisiones impulsivas, a no confiar en nadie, ni en las autoridades, y si hemos de viajar por carretera solos, es recomendable mantener informados a nuestros familiares y amigos de nuestro destino siempre que sea posible, o en su defecto viajar acompañado.

Rust Creek es un buen film de suspenso con algo de acción, tiene una buena historia, buenas actuaciones, y buen suspenso, creo que vale la pena verla, yo le daría un 7.8 de 10 en puntuación.

Corfield's acting performance as the protagonist is very good, when she is lost in the woods with a heavy stab wound in her leg, she makes us believe that she really won't get out of there alive, she is shown absolutely lost, helpless and vulnerable.

This film handles suspense very well, and its story unfolds in an unpredictable manner, something I consider a plus considering that sense of anticipation and tension that films of this genre generate.

If I have to draw a reflection of this film, I would say that it invites us to be cautious, not to make impulsive decisions, not to trust anyone, even the authorities, and if we have to travel by road alone, it is advisable to keep our family and friends informed of our destination whenever possible, or otherwise travel accompanied.

Rust Creek is a good suspense film with some action, it has a good story, good performances, and good suspense, I think it is worth watching, I would give it a 7.8 out of 10 in score.
