Hello my dear friends, it's a pleasure to be here again, today I want to talk about an old movie, one of those I used to watch on a family night when I was a kid.
Among my favorite actors is Jackie Chan, not only because of how he acts, nor because he is one of the few who does his scenes himself without a stuntman (scenes that are not always easy), but also because he seems like a great person who makes movies out of passion.
That makes him a great actor, a talent he has shown since he was young, if that is why I will talk today about an old movie he made which I saw, not only for the fluid plot it carries but for the performance in which he stands out for the amount of personality he had to add and he succeeded.
The movie is called “The Drunken Master”. Its plot is based on an ancient technique that according to Chinese martial arts, and where Jackie, being a young man, must learn this technique to defeat an enemy.
In it Jackie Chan must learn this new technique and thus defend his life and his own honor, of course at first he must not only learn but get used to the unusual method of his teacher who in turn is his uncle and seems to have no common sense.
The movie is very funny, which shows Jackie Chan demonstrating his talents. Personally, I really like this style of film, as it has a solid dénouement and allows us to appreciate a film from beginning to end.
We will be watching a film based on the search for knowledge and how important it is to persevere despite the difficulties. In particular, Jackie Chan's films have always taught me that when one wants to learn or overcome any test the only considerable impediment is oneself, because with dedication and effort, even if they don't want to teach you, sometimes being observant is the best.
Here we see Jackie as a young man with martial arts skills, however this is what causes his own problem because he is conceited and will not be until he discovers that no matter how much talent he has he cannot always be the best if he does not make an effort and is humble.
The most valuable thing should always be the courage and the opinion that you give yourself, of course without going to extremes, but showing that you can always do it even though everything is against you.
In this film we will see techniques and good performances, but of course for this time perhaps some performances may not be very appreciated, but if we put ourselves in the eyes of a viewer of 25 or 26 years ago we will see and appreciate every detail better.
So friends I recommend this movie that you can find even on YouTube, and of course if you like a little classic cinema you can enjoy, greetings to all of you, thanks for reading me and see you next time.
