Lindsay Ellis is a film reviewer who started out on Channel Awesome as "The Nostalgia Chick," the distaff counterpart to Doug "The Nostalgia Critic" Walker, but has since expanded the scope of her reviews considerably.
This video from last month where she applies an angle of film criticism typically reserved for feminist analysis of female characters to the male characters in the Transformers films. I think it explains why I felt insulted by Transformers 1 & 2 better than any other reviewer's take on the series. It's not just the overall badness of the movies, because some bad movies can be fun. It's the director's portrayal of the cast, male and female, in a way I find viscerally repugnant.
