Hello to all lovers of adventure time and its various spin-offs.

Clearly the title is direct, my analysis of this series because more than one is curious if it connects with what was seen in the previous series or is just filler apart.

So let's start from the fact of consuming the first episodes to make an opinion.

The first thing that diverts the public's attention to the series is its episode N°1, since it does not reflect at all the epicness of the previous animated series, giving us a very quote-unquote "normal" parallel world, where we see Fionna working as a tour guide inside a bus and living as a normal American in a normal city with humans.

I mean literally (already from this point people change the TV channel and stop watching it).

But episode 2 is where it really connects what we have seen with the classic adventure series of Finn and Jake with this spin-off of Fionna and Cake.

And well, it was sublime to see Finn on screen again in his more adult version in the classic world of his own series.

But what's the plot about?

Going into context Prismo, (something like a dimensional God of that universe), got bored of granting wishes 1 x 1 to every human that visits his temple, so tired of satisfying wishes that create realities for others, he simply creates one where he can give shape to his ideas, in this case (the spin-off of Fionna and cake as a clone series of the original Finn and Jake). The dilemma is that he could not do this and locks that alternate universe inside the head of the icy king.

And yes, in the classic series we see how the ice king is the one who creates the stories of Fionna and Cake as written and visual tales.

Returning now to episode 2, we are in the original world of the series, several years have passed, the ice king lost his crown and is now a normal human, which is part of a kind of museum or amusement park with the (man of the past centuries).

This character is still obsessed with recovering his girlfriend, he desperately tries any ritual means of magic to bring her back, but inadvertently opens the magic seal where they locked (the universe that put Prismo of Fionna and Cake).

From there on the adventure begins to try to understand this series, and I dare say that from a very intriguing approach, Prismo brings the characters, Fionna, Cake and King Ice Cream and explains what happened of their origins, and incidentally is involved in a problem, in short, the 3 characters must flee in multi-realities with a dimensional remote control to find a crown of (another ice king of those worlds) and try to put it to the human ice king, to face the dilemma of recovering his powers.

And what happened to the series in Latin audio?

Well, there are some dilemmas, in my case I was watching it the first 4 episodes in Latin Spanish audio, but apparently HBO Max cancelled the dubbing, as the series will originally air in English audio with subtitles.

Honestly I tried to keep up with this cancellation, on the one hand HBO Max is the one who makes the series, so it is exclusive...and the fact of hiring animators from another channel is only for that purpose, which is to make the series for them.

On the other hand, Cartoon Network, at a certain moment felt that it was the owner of the series (being the animation house), and at the same time began to broadcast the premiere episodes in Latin Spanish audio.

That is, literally before broadcasting Fiona and Cake, they also aired the specials of faraway lands, movies and others, and then released the Latin dubbing of Fionna and Cake.

What factors influence this?

Well, HBO max is the one who pays, so it is the one who decides how to broadcast it on its channels and under the concepts it wants.

I think that the 1st episode was not so shocking and created the decline of the audience, making it initially had little reception...and if the series is not successful, it was not worth paying for a Latin dubbing.

Another factor is that Cartoon Network rushed to "take over the series as their own" and basically do whatever they wanted. But obviously this series Fiona and Cake is not at all for children.

I mean, I guess a Cartoon network supervisor noticed that in the 1st episode they made direct mention to the consumption of drugs and alcohol by their main character, so based on that fact, "even though their designs are very nice and have the name adventure time", it just doesn't go with the policies of the animated channel.

Although clearly no one can guess what the series is about until they start dubbing the audio of each episode one by one.

I think that both factors, releasing the dubbing on its own, and the fact that the series is not suitable for children on cartoon netwok marked the decline of the series by continuing to dub it into Latin language.

Honestly, HBO is the one who decides how their series will be broadcasted, so in that aspect, the only thing left to do is to watch it in English with subtitles.

Only if the series becomes popular in that broadcast, At some point I think that if they decide to dub it into Latin language, they would broadcast it on their channel releasing 1 episode per week to gain more audience.

The Fionna and Cake series respects the original concept of the series, since it is directly linked to the characters of the other franchise seen as a single linear story.

It's just waiting for a good script...and it doesn't end like the previous adventure time.

I'll add, because the old series simply sent Finn and Jake to hell, and focused on making the series politically correct, where the princess and the vampire became lesbians and that's it. Killing the whole series by not focusing the story on their hero and a happy ending for him.

I mean literally there are many more females in the series throughout his adventure, they could have given him any one for him, but they didn't even deign to make an ending for their own protagonist.

What to expect from an ending for Fionna and Cake?

There are many theories, one of them is that they will only use the series as a pretext to promote political movements...that the main character will become a lesbian and the adventure will be cut off at any moment, wasting the time of the fans of both series, the old and the new one.

Another scenario is that they drag it out so long that it simply ends without an ending because they will cancel the animation if the audience's views decline.

So in the worst case scenario you just wasted your time.

And the last thing is to try to be super optimistic, hope that they conclude the adventure in a short way with 2 seasons at the most and that they don't introduce political ideologies to turn everyone gay and send the main story to hell.

So we may be fobbed off with some nostalgia, but the reality is that with so much political movement, it is not surprising that the thing ends as usual, using the public to put another forced g@y ending.
