Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! I just finished watching this movie and I'm still tearing up. Aside from bad movies, movies that make me cry too much also haunt me, and because I'm a masochist, I end up loving them more than I should. A Whisker Away is as beautiful a movie as it can be disturbing, but I'll tell you about that later.
If not all of us, most of us have wished at some point in our lives to leave our body and become a bird to fly far away, or become a cat to sleep and eat all day long without having to take care of the responsibilities we acquire in a life we didn't even give permission to be born.
¡Aaaaaaaaaaah! Acabo de terminar de ver esta película y todavía estoy lagrimeando. A parte de las películas malas, las películas que me hacen llorar demasiado también me persiguen, y como yo soy masoquista, las termino amando más de lo que debería. A Whisker Away es una película tan hermosa como puede llegar a ser de perturbadora, pero de eso les voy a hablar después.
Si no todos, la mayoría de todas las personas hemos deseado en algún momento de nuestras vidas abandonar nuestro cuerpo y ser un pájaro para volar muy lejos, o convertirnos en un gato para dormir y comer durante todo el día sin tener que hacernos cargo de las responsabilidades que vamos adquiriendo en una vida que ni siquiera dimos permiso para nacer.
 
This movie is about that, Miyo Sasaki hates her life completely and one day she gets her wish, she can put on a mask that allows her to become a cat, the mask was given to her by a cat spirit that from time to time visits her to see how Miyo is doing in her new cat life.
I was very hesitant to watch the movie because it was from Netflix and they have more bad movies than good ones, but since the friend who recommended it to me knows what I like and never recommends something I'm going to dislike I decided to watch it, and I couldn't be more grateful to do so. The animation can be a visual orgasm that has no equal, many times I wanted to pause the movie and just watch the landscapes that I had in front of me, they were incredible.
Esta película va de eso, Miyo Sasaki odia su vida por completo y un día logra su deseo, puede colocarse una máscara que le permite convertirse en gata, la máscara le fue dada por un espíritu gatuno que de vez en cuando la visita para ver cómo le va a Miyo en su nueva vida gatuna.
Dudé mucho de ver la película porque era de Netflix y son más las películas malas que tiene, que las buena, pero como el amigo que me la recomendó sabe lo que me gusta y nunca me recomienda algo que me vaya a desagradar decidí verla, y no puedo estar más agradecido de hacerlo. La animación puede llegar a ser un orgasmo visual que no tiene igual, muchas veces quise pausar la película y quedarme mirando los paisajes que tenía frente a mí, fueron increíbles.
The film's soundtrack can be just as captivating as the images it shows us. Everything is in perfect sync and there is no way to take your eyes off the screen except to wipe your tears and calm down a bit to continue crying later. Yes, that cute kitty you see there is Miyo, too cute to exist.
Problems during adolescence can become too much for anyone to handle, and even more so if the people around them just make everything worse with bullying, making everyday life a never-ending hell.
El soundtrack de la película puede llegar a ser igual de cautivador que las imágenes que nos muestra. Todo está en perfecta sintonía y no hay forma de despegar los ojos de la pantalla excepto para limpiarse las lágrimas y calmarse un poco para seguir llorando después. Sí, esa linda gatita que ven ahí es Miyo, demasiado tierna para existir.
Los problemas durante la adolescencia pueden llegar a ser demasiado para cualquier persona de manejar, y más aún si las personas a su alrededor lo que hacen es empeorar todo con el acoso, haciendo del día a día un infierno sin fin.
 
Miyo's life could have been better if she had someone to talk to and guide her towards a way to deal with her problems. She only had one friend since childhood, the rest of the world pushed her away and she had to play tough to avoid wearing herself out mentally, more than she already was. Miyo was always smiling, playing pranks and trying to get people's attention to make them laugh, all while she was suffering inside and didn't know how to deal with it.
Kento Hinode is one of the people she is always trying to get his attention, playing pranks, hitting him and yelling at him no matter how close they were, she was smiling just for him to try to get his attention.
La vida de Miyo pudo haber sido mejor si hubiera tenido alguien con quien hablar y que la guiara hacia una forma de lidiar con sus problemas. Ella solo tuvo una amiga desde la infancia, el resto del mundo la ahuyentaba y tenía que hacerse la fuerte para evitar desgastarse mentalmente, más de lo que ya estaba. Miyo's favorite thing to do when she became a cat was to go to Kento's house and let herself be petted by him, she would spend hours playing with him and listening to him talk, just fueling the crush she felt, and then the next day at school she would go back to try to engage him in conversation to get to know him as a human and not just as a cat. This is the disturbing part I told you about at the beginning.
Lots and lots of things are going to happen in Miyo's life after she starts becoming a cat, I was going to enumerate the list, but that would all be spoilers and I don't want to do that. Just be prepared to laugh and cry a lot, Miyo is a very crazy girl and if you watch the movie you will find out the nickname she has, which despite being very cruel, it fits her perfectly because it describes her exasperating personality.
La cosa favorita de Miyo al convertirse en gata era ir a la casa de Kento y dejarse acariciar por él, durante horas se la pasaba jugando con él y escuchándolo hablar, tan solo avivando el enamoramiento que ella sentía, para después durante el día siguiente en la escuela volver a tratar de entablar una conversación con él para conocerlo como humana y no solo como una gata. Esta es la parte perturbadora de la que les hablé al principio.
Muchísimas cosas van a suceder en la vida de Miyo después de que comienza a convertirse en una gata, iba a enumerar la lista, pero todo eso sería spoiler y no quiero hacerlo. Solo les digo que tienen que prepararse para reír y llorar mucho, Miyo es una niña muy loca y si ven la película se enterarán del sobrenombre que tiene, que a pesar de ser muy cruel, le va a la perfección porque describe su personalidad exasperarte.
