This is another one of those things that Netflix does that we wish it had never done, this series has more bad things than good, but the bad things are not so bad, it's just that it's so often that we encounter those unpleasant elements that it overwhelms and we end up falling on the series. I think I'm one of the few people who enjoyed the series, but even so, I got too tired of it and feel I would have better invested my time watching something else.
This series is so bad or can get so bad, that I agree with many people that it makes Milla's movie series look like a perfect thing when we also know that it is not. In this series, we are going to be set in an Umbrella city where Albert Wesker along with his two daughters, Jade and Billie, have just moved for his job, plus we will also be in the post-apocalyptic future watching Jade try to survive many risky situations.
Esta es otra de esas cosas que Netflix hace que desearíamos que nunca hubiera hecho, esta serie tiene más cosas malas que buenas, pero las malas no son tan malas, si no que es tanta la frecuencia con que nos encontramos con esos elementos desagradables que abruma y termina cayéndonos mal la serie. Creo que soy una de las pocas personas que disfrutó la serie, pero aún así, me cansó demasiado y siento que hubiera invertido mejor mi tiempo viendo otra cosa.
Esta serie es tan mala, o puede llegar a ser tan mala, que estoy de acuerdo con muchas personas en que hace ver la serie de películas de Milla como una cosa perfecta, cuando también sabemos que no es así. En esta serie nos vamos a situar en una ciudad de Umbrella done Albert Wesker junto a sus dos hijas, Jade y Billie, se acaban de mudar por el trabajo de él, además de que también estaremos en el futuro postapocaliptico viendo a Jade tratar de sobrevivir a muchas situaciones de riesgo.
I knew this series was going to be bad when I saw the Jade from the future with a perfect braid in her hair where not a single hair was out of place, I mean, you're in the open world, surrounded by zombies, living in a tent, how are you able to have such perfect hair? Are your priorities hair products first, then everything related to survival? Even from the first few minutes, I knew it was all going to be a complete nonsensical disaster, and yet I kept watching it.
Another of the gigantic mistakes of the series is the constant time changes, 10 minutes in the future, 10 minutes in the past, and so we will be during the whole series, suffering from the time changes, which according to them are made to leave us in tension for what we are watching, but no, they just bore, because they don't even confuse, which would have been a better option to boredom. It would have been much better if they did full chapters in the future and full chapters in the past, but no, they decided to mix everything and the final product was something horrible. There are better series and movies that use this technique and it works out well, but no, here it doesn't work out well at all.
Sabía que esta serie iba a ser mala cuando vi a la Jade del futuro con una trenza perfecta en el cabello donde no tenía ni un solo cabello fuera de lugar, o sea, estás en el mundo abierto, rodeada de zombies, viviendo en una tienda de campaña, ¿cómo eres capaz de tener el cabello tan perfecto? ¿Acaso tus prioridades son primero los productos para el cabello, después todo lo relacionado a la supervivencia? Ya desde los primeros minutos sabía que todo iba a ser un completo desastres sin sentido, y aún así continué viéndola.
Otro de los gigantes errores de la serie son los constantes cambios de tiempo, 10 minutos en el futuro, 10 minutos en el pasado, y así estaremos durante toda la serie, sufriendo con los cambios en el tiempo, que según están hechos para dejarnos en tensión por lo que estamos viendo, pero no, solo aburren, porque ni siquiera confunden, que hubiera sido una mejor opción al aburrimiento. Hubiera sido mucho mejor que hicieran capítulos completos en el futuro y capítulos completos en el pasado, pero no, decidieron mezclar todo y el producto final fue algo horrible. Hay mejores series y películas que usan esta técnica y les sale bien, pero no, aquí no sale nada bien.
Another of the gigantic problems of the series is the construction of the characters, fuck, Jade is an unbearable character in the future, but her teenage version is almost or more unbearable than her adult self it's unbearable, I could never stand her. The bad guy of the story, Evelyn, is another cardboard character that serves no purpose, that is, her only motivation is to be evil and that's it, to follow her belief of wanting to change the world, but no, she's horrible. The only well-done character is Albert Wesker, which Lance Reddick does an amazing job playing the character, but as a normal Netflix thing, the best character is the one they show the least, plus it's a perfect perfect demonstration that it doesn't matter who plays the character because if they play it well, it's all worth it and valid.
The only good thing about the series is the special effects and the makeup of the zombies, fuck, on two occasions I was watching the series while I was eating, and I had to stop because eating while watching such visceral scenes was not good at all. It's incredible how many good effects were wasted in such a mediocre and meaningless story as this series is, it happened the same as with Doctor Strange into the Multiverse of Madness, only here they used the zombies as an excuse to tell a teenage story and how it affected the characters through time.
Otro de los gigantes problemas de la serie es la construcción de los personajes, joder, Jade es un personaje insoportable en el futuro, pero su versión de adolescente es casi o más insoportable que su yo adulta, de verdad, es infumable, no la soporté nunca. La mala de la historia, Evelyn, es otro personaje de cartón que no sirve para nada, o sea, su única motivación es ser malvada y ya, seguir su creencia de querer cambiar el mundo, pero no, es horrible. El único personaje bien hecho es Albert Wesker, que no está de más decir que Lance Reddick hace un increíble trabajo haciendo el personaje, pero como cosa normal de Netflix, el mejor personaje es el que menos muestran, además de que es una perfecta demostración perfecta de que no importa quien haga el papel del personaje, pues si lo hace bien, todo vale la pena y es válido.
La única cosa buena de la serie son los efectos especiales y el maquillaje de los zombies, joder, durante dos ocaciones estuve viendo la serie mientras comía, y tuve que detenerme pues comer viendo escenas tan viscerales no eran nada bueno. Es increíble cómo esos efectos tan buenos fueron desperdiciados en una historia tan mediocre y sin sentido como es esta serie, pasó lo mismo que con Doctor Strange into the Multiverse of Madness, solo que aquí usaron a los zombies como una excusa para contar una historia adolescente y como esta afectó a los personajes a través del tiempo.
I watch the trailer again and I feel like they didn't promise more than they didn't deliver. I'm still amazed by the fact that there are people who believed that the two main characters, Jade and Billie, were girlfriends, when in fact they are sisters, and they were already saying that the series was going to be bad just because it was going to have a lesbian romance, I mean, do they have lesbophobia so ingrained? I can't stand them. Because yes, there is a lesbian romance in the story, but it's something completely secondary, with no relevance, plus one of the women will be evil, and fuck, it's getting tired of showing lgbtqia+ characters as bad guys, it's getting too tiring.
I liked the series, I enjoyed it despite everything, but please Netflix, don't bring out a second season, don't you dare to be such an atrocity, let the series die in its first season and that's it. Watch the trailer, and as I told you in the title, watch it at your own risk, as I don't think you will get to enjoy it at any point.
Veo el trailer de nuevo y siento que no prometieron más de lo que no dieron. Aún me sorprende el hecho de que haya gente que creía que las dos protagonistas, Jade y Billie, eran novias, cuando en realidad son hermanas, y ya estaban diciendo que la serie iba a ser mala solo porque iba a tener un romance lésbico, o sea, ¿la lesbofobia la tienen tan arraigada? No los soporto. Porque eso sí, sí hay un romance lésbico en la historia, pero es algo completamente secundario, sin relevancia, además de que una de las mujeres será malvada y joder, ya cansa que muestres a personajes lgbtqia+ como malos, eso ya cansa demasiado.
Me gustó la serie, la disfruté a pesar de todo, pero, por favor, Netflix, no saques una segunda temporada, no te atrevas a ser tal atrocidad, deja que la serie muera en su primera temporada y ya. Vean el trailer, y como les dije en el título, vénala bajo su propio riesgo, pues no creo que la lleguen a disfrutar en ningún momento.
