Antes que nada sería bueno aclarar que esta reseña la estoy haciendo sin tener conocimientos previos de esta historia ni de sus personajes ya que nunca he jugado este título en videojuegos. Lo digo porque al final no se que tan fiel es esta serie con la trama original ni tampoco se que tan bien hecha está con relación al videojuego. La cosa es que cuando se hacen adaptaciones por lo general nunca salen tan bien como se piensa en un principio, los fanáticos somos muy quisquillosos con esas cosas pero y vuelvo a repetir, sin haber visto nada previo, esta serie es de las mejores cosas que se han hecho en este departamento en unos cuantos años.

First of all, it would be good to clarify that I am writing this review without any previous knowledge of this story or its characters, since I have never played this title in video games. I say this because in the end I don't know how faithful this series is to the original plot and I don't know how well made it is in relation to the video game. The thing is that when adaptations are made they usually never come out as good as you think at first, we fans are very picky about these things but I repeat, without having seen anything previous, this series is one of the best things that have been done in this department in a few years.

Fallout va básicamente del apocalipsis, pero no causado por los cuatro jinetes sino por la misma humanidad. Resulta que el mundo se cayó a pedazos gracias a una guerra y a unas bombas nucleares, un mundo que nunca pudo recuperarse y que 200 años después de aquel suceso sigue en las mismas: miseria y desolación. Para poder vivir en condiciones existen unos refugios o bunkers que se construyeron para que las personas pudieran estar sin problemas pero por ciertas cosas que comienzan a pasar en estos sitios algunas de personas se ven obligadas a salir a la superficie a buscar respuestas, soluciones o meramente por la curiosidad.

Fallout is basically about the apocalypse, but not caused by the four horsemen but by humanity itself. It turns out that the world fell apart thanks to a war and nuclear bombs, a world that could never recover and that 200 years after that event is still in the same: misery and desolation. In order to live in conditions there are some shelters or bunkers that were built so that people could be without problems but for certain things that begin to happen in these places some people are forced to go to the surface to seek answers, solutions or merely out of curiosity.

Que se consiguen al salir? - pues el resultado de una guerra de la que nunca hubo recuperación. Un ambiente hostil en donde la desesperanza, desolación y la violencia son las cartas con las que se juegan. Los habitantes que allí hacen vida únicamente piensan en si mismos, no hay espacio para ser bondadosos ni caritativos, la supervivencia es lo único que importa y si tienen que hacerlo a costa de los demás pues así se hará. La serie nos mostrará cómo es esa vida a través de la mirada de tres personajes totalmente diferentes, con contextos y motores de vida distintos. La verdad es que es un viaje lleno de peligros en un entorno medio futurista en donde personas amables, bandidos, robots y criaturas extrañas se cruzarán entre si.

What do you get when you leave? - The result of a war from which there was never any recovery. A hostile environment where despair, desolation and violence are the cards that are played. The inhabitants who live there think only of themselves, there is no room for kindness or charity, survival is the only thing that matters and if they have to do it at the expense of others, then so be it. The series will show us how that life is through the eyes of three totally different characters, with different contexts and life engines. The truth is that it is a journey full of dangers in a half futuristic environment where friendly people, bandits, robots and strange creatures will cross each other.

La serie tiene varios atractivos, uno de ellos es todo lo relacionado a la estética, ambientación, vestuario; la forma en como se logra combinar un estilo de los años 50 con cosas adelantadas a ese tiempo 200 años después es super interesante. Todo lo que vemos en interiores es cool pero cuando la historia se traslada a los exteriores es cuando vemos las dimensiones de la serie. Estas cosas a muchos les pueden parecer equis pero para mi son elementos que nos dicen que la serie es de calidad; todos los entornos y ambientes están bien cuidados y logrados, todos dan la sensación que quieren transmitir y es que al final si te sumerges de lleno en la trama y en todo lo que sucede alrededor.

The series has several attractions, one of them is everything related to aesthetics, setting, costumes; the way it manages to combine a style of the 50's with things ahead of that time 200 years later is super interesting. Everything we see indoors is cool but when the story moves to the outdoors is when we see the dimensions of the series. These things may seem odd to many but for me they are elements that tell us that the series is of quality; all environments and environments are well cared for and achieved, all give the feeling they want to convey and in the end if you immerse yourself fully in the plot and everything that happens around.

Como dije es una historia en la que veremos lo mejor y lo peor del ser humano, eso dependerá de las circunstancias en la que estén pero por lo general siempre serán los aspectos más primitivos. Esto es por que la historia los empuja a ser así, cada uno está buscando algo por lo que solo piensan en su beneficio. La trama está llena de violencia, hay mucho gore y mucha ficción lo que la hace increíblemente entretenida y sobretodo visual; cuando vemos escenas en donde todo termina en un enfrentamiento o hasta en las cosas más simples de la cotidianidad y al final hay un desmembramiento, un disparo letal, un golpe lleno de sangre y extremidades, es justo ahí cuando esta serie realmente toma su esencia.

As I said it is a story in which we will see the best and the worst of the human being, that will depend on the circumstances in which they are but generally will always be the most primitive aspects. This is because the story pushes them to be like that, each one is looking for something so they only think about their own benefit. The plot is full of violence, there is a lot of gore and a lot of fiction which makes it incredibly entertaining and above all visual; when we see scenes where everything ends in a confrontation or even in the simplest everyday things and at the end there is a dismemberment, a lethal shot, a blow full of blood and limbs, it is right there when this series really takes its essence.

Los personajes son top, muy top. Ella Purnell o Lucy es una chica ingenua quien siempre va a ver el lado color rosa de las cosas, al nunca haber estado en el exterior esa maldad o malicia no está en ella por lo que poco tendrá que aprender a ser más dura con ella misma y con los demás aunque le cueste una barbaridad hacerlo. Ella es muy buena actriz, ya la conocía de la serie Yellowjackets y ya pintaba maneras. Aaron Clifton Moten o Maximus es quizás el personaje más complejo porque siempre tiene una discusión interna, en él siempre va a haber una duda en como hacer las cosas con base en la aprobación de los demás, siempre la está buscando lo cual hará que no siempre le salgan las cosas como las planea. Y finalmente Walton Goggins o en la serie como Howard Cooper o el Ghoul es alguien que es movido por el rencor y venganza, quiere que todo el mundo pague por cosas pasadas. También puede que haya una pizca de amor por ahí ya que al final él también busca algo referente a eso.

The characters are top, very top. Ella Purnell or Lucy is a naive girl who will always see the rosy side of things, having never been on the outside that evil or malice is not in her so little will have to learn to be tougher with herself and with others even if it costs her a lot to do so. She is a very good actress, I already knew her from the Yellowjackets series and she was already looking good. Aaron Clifton Moten or Maximus is perhaps the most complex character because he always has an internal discussion, in him there will always be a doubt on how to do things based on the approval of others, he is always looking for it which will not always make things go as planned. And finally Walton Goggins or in the series as Howard Cooper or the Ghoul is someone who is driven by spite and revenge, he wants everyone to pay for past things. There may also be a hint of love in there as in the end he is looking for something concerning that as well.

La serie me pareció brutal, de las mejores cosas que nos dejará este año sin ninguna duda. Buena acción, una historia llena de misterios, suspenso y mucha ficción, visualmente es impresionante, todas las escenografías estuvieron a la altura sobretodo los exteriores, los pocos que se hicieron fueron increíble. Al final es una historia que atrapa desde el capitulo uno, no hace falta que hayas jugado los videojuegos, la hicieron precisamente para eso, para aquellos que no conocieramos de la franquicia. La serie es un 10 absoluto. La recomiendo a todos los que aún no la han visto, está en Prime y consta de 8 capítulos. Les dejo el tráiler por acá.

The series seemed brutal to me, one of the best things that this year will leave us without a doubt. Good action, a story full of mysteries, suspense and a lot of fiction, visually it is impressive, all the scenery was at the height especially the exteriors, the few that were made were incredible. In the end it is a story that grabs you from chapter one, you don't need to have played the video games, it was made precisely for that, for those who didn't know the franchise.
