Son muy pocas películas las animadas que me animo a ver, valga la redundancia, la verdad me tienen que llamar mucho la atención para poder darles una oportunidad, se que es un error dada la inmensa calidad que hay detrás de ellas pero ha así ha sido siempre. La cosa es que cuando hablamos del universo de Shrek todo cambia porque para mi, junto a Toy Story, es de lo más top que hay y que ha habido en la historia y más aún con un personaje tan entrañable como lo es el gato con botas siendo el protagonista de este film. Venía con expectativas altas, otro gran error, pero es que sin haberla visto yo sabía que la calidad iba a ser muy alta y amigos, así fue, desde ya les adelanto que estamos ante una maravilla del cine.

There are very few animated films that I dare to see, worth the redundancy, the truth is that they have to call my attention to give them a chance, I know it's a mistake given the immense quality behind them but it has always been like that. The thing is that when we talk about the universe of Shrek everything changes because for me, along with Toy Story, is the top that there is and has been in history and even more with a character as endearing as it is the cat in boots being the protagonist of this film. I came with high expectations, another big mistake, but without having seen it I knew that the quality was going to be very high and friends, so it was, I already tell you that we are facing a marvel of cinema.

Pero hay algo que tengo que confesar. Soy de las personas que ve TODAS las películas en idioma original pero con las animadas no se por que tengo la tendencia de cambiar eso y verlas en el español latino y con esta historia volvimos a caer en esa practica. La realidad es que lo hice para apreciar mejor el trabajo de Antonio Banderas, en ingles lo hace increíble pero creo que el "peak" es escucharlo en su idioma natal. Esto fue un riesgo? - es posible porque me estoy perdiendo el trabajo de Florence Pugh, Salma Hayek, Olivia Colman, etc, pero afortunadamente en español latino también se disfruta bastante por lo que mi tiempo siento que no lo perdí. Habiendo dicho todo esto vayamos un hablemos un poco de esta gran película animada.

I am one of those people who watch ALL movies in the original language but with the animated ones I don't know why I have the tendency to change that and watch them in Latin Spanish and with this story we fell back into that practice. The reality is that I did it to better appreciate the work of Antonio Banderas, in English he does an incredible job but I think the "peak" is to listen to him in his native language. Was this a risk? - It's possible because I'm missing the work of Florence Pugh, Salma Hayek, Olivia Colman, etc, but fortunately in Latin Spanish it's also quite enjoyable so I feel I didn't waste my time. Nuestro rudo y peculiar gato, interpretado por Antonio Banderas, como siempre se encuentra de aventura en aventura sin temerle a nada y es que la palabra "temeroso" no existe en su vocabulario, de allí a que en la mayoría de los casos sortee a la muerte de formas muy peligrosas y arriesgadas. Pero esas imprudencias pronto le pasarán factura ya que de la nada se dará cuanta que de sus nueve vidas ha consumido ocho por lo que su mera existencia corre un serio y grave peligro. Esto hace que tenga que tomar una decisión, una que puede significar ser su última aventura pero también una que puede que sea la puerta que le permita vivir tranquilo y sin preocupaciones.

Our tough and peculiar cat, played by Antonio Banderas, as always is from adventure to adventure without fear of anything and the word "fearful" does not exist in his vocabulary, hence in most cases he dodges death in very dangerous and risky ways. But these imprudences will soon take their toll on him, since he will realize that out of his nine lives he has consumed eight, so his very existence is in serious and grave danger. This makes him have to make a decision, one that could be his last adventure but also one that could be the door that allows him to live a peaceful and carefree life.

El tema es que gracias a esta aventura él descubrirá cosas más importantes, este viaje será como una especie aprendizaje en el cual conocerá nuevos amigos, se dará cuenta de errores de su pasado y de que hacer para remediarlos y con eso lograr remediar lo que está buscando; en realidad es como una aventura muy introspectiva en donde estoy seguro cada uno de nosotros en algún punto de la historia nos vamos a sentir identificados. Y es que eso es lo que tiene este film, que dentro de su comedia innegable siempre tiene unos mensajes sumamente poderosos y bien logrados que sin importar la edad que tengas siempre serán útiles y surtirán un bonito efecto. Este Gato con Botas es sin miedo a equivocarme de las mejores películas animadas que he visto en muchos años.

Quiero empezar con lo que a mi me llamó más la atención, la animación. El cambio que vemos desde la primera película por allá en el 2011 o desde los inicios de Shrek a principios de los 2000 es gigantesco y abismal. La experiencia de ver este film es increíble porque el nivel de detalle, la cinematografía, el recurso de la cámara lenta o simplemente cuando la acción aumenta la velocidad son cosas que los dejan a uno embelesado frente a la pantalla, se los digo que es muy complicado quitarle la vista porque es un producto que vale mucho la pena de ver. Y es que ese siempre ha sido el detalle que hace que muchas veces no vea estas películas pero es que acá el trabajo de Dreamworks es impecable, siento que en este aspecto no hay nada negativo que decir. Saben cual es mi termómetro? - las expresiones faciales y acá más realistas no se puede ser.

The experience of watching this film is incredible because the level of detail, the cinematography, the use of slow motion or simply when the action increases the speed are things that leave you spellbound in front of the screen, I tell you that it is very difficult to take your eyes off it because it is a product that is well worth seeing. And that has always been the detail that makes me not to see these movies many times, but here the work of Dreamworks is impeccable, I feel that in this aspect there is nothing negative to say. You know what my thermometer is? - The facial expressions and here you can't get any more realistic.

Lo segundo es la trama. Es una en donde el sentimiento de amistad, de lo que representa tener una familia, del apoyo incondicional que puede significar tener a alguien a tu lado y de cual es el verdadero valor de vivir una vida plena forman parte del 90% de la misma, toda la historia gira en torno a estos elementos y eso no la hace más aburrida ni cursi, todo lo contario porque a todo esto se le une un deseo de aventura que va de la mano con batallas y enfrentamientos super entretenidos y que al final el resultado es una trama impresionante, sencilla pero que cumple con todos los requisitos para considerarla muy digna de ver.

The second thing is the plot. It is one where the feeling of friendship, what it means to have a family, the unconditional support that can mean having someone by your side and what is the true value of living a full life are part of 90% of it, the whole story revolves around these elements and that does not make it more boring or cheesy, On the contrary, because all this is joined by a desire for adventure that goes hand in hand with super entertaining battles and confrontations and in the end the result is an impressive plot, simple but that meets all the requirements to consider it very worth seeing.

Y el último aspecto que quiero resaltar que por lo menos a mi me pareció muy bueno fueron todos los guiños y referencias a elementos y personajes ya conocidos; una alfombra mágica, al contexto del Rey Midas, a Ricitos de Oro y los tres osos, en realidad hay varios más y es que uno de los personajes tiene la intención de ser un maestro de la magia por lo que algunas de las cosas que se ven con él son bastantes llamativas. Cuando una historia se llena de cosas que generalmente no pertenecen al universo del film pero que aportan contenido y queda bien es algo que hay que resaltarlo, puede que para muchos no les parezca gran cosa pero en lo personal lo encontré muy cool de ver, pienso que le da un poco de profundidad a la historia y la hace más vistosa e interesante.

And the last aspect that I want to highlight that at least to me I found very good were all the winks and references to elements and characters already known; a magic carpet, the context of King Midas, Goldilocks and the three bears, actually there are several more and one of the characters is intended to be a master of magic so some of the things you see with him are quite striking. When a story is filled with things that generally do not belong to the universe of the film but that provide content and looks good is something that should be highlighted, it may not seem like a big deal to many but personally I found it very cool to see, I think it gives a little depth to the story and makes it more colorful and interesting.

En cuanto a los personajes decir que el Gato es increíble y más increíble aún como Antonio Banderas ya hizo suyo ese personaje. Es complicado hablar de algo animado pero lo que se puede decir es que la intensidad y el sentimiento que le inyecta Banderas es único, impresionante como por medio de la voz y de la animación un personaje puede llegar a transmitir tanto y es allí en donde está verdadera magia del doblaje. Temerario, aventurero pero más humano que muchos, con un corazón muy solido y honesto. Y el segundo del que quiero hablar es de "Perrito", si, así se llama. Es el lado más sensible y conmovedor de la película. Es de esos personajes que puede que pequen un poco de cursi pero sin ser molesto, es esa personalidad que todos quisiéramos tener a nuestro lado. Un pilar importante en la trama así que préstenle atención.

As for the characters, the Cat is incredible and even more incredible as Antonio Banderas has already made this character his own. It is complicated to talk about something animated but what can be said is that the intensity and feeling that Banderas injects is unique, impressive how through the voice and animation a character can convey so much and that is where the real magic of dubbing is. Reckless, adventurous but more human than many, with a very solid and honest heart. And the second one I want to talk about is "Perrito", yes, that's his name. He is the most sensitive and touching side of the film. He's one of those characters that may be a little cheesy but without being annoying, he's that personality that we all wish we had by our side. An important pillar in the plot so pay attention to him.

De este personaje con capucha no quiero hablar pero es muy top, siento que todo el mensaje final del film gira en torno a él y lo que representa. En fin, una película esplendida, de las mejores en su clase por todo lo que nos encontramos en ella, animación, personajes, historia, enseñanzas, trama, todo, lo tiene todo. Un muy merecido 9/10, es algo que todo el mundo debería de ver si o si, les aseguro que no va a dejar indiferente a nadie. Tiene una duración de un poco más de hora y media. I don't want to talk about this hooded character but he is very top, I feel that the whole final message of the film revolves around him and what he represents. Anyway, a splendid film, one of the best in its class for everything we find in it, animation, characters, story, teachings, plot, everything, it has it all. A well deserved 9/10, it is something that everyone should see if or if, I assure you that it will not leave anyone indifferent. It has a duration of just over an hour and a half.
