El mundo tal y como lo conocemos viene siendo un lugar en decadencia, un lugar en donde más allá de convivir en paz y armonía los humanos están empeñados en hacer todo lo contrario, guerras, conflictos, cualquier cosa que puedan estar haciendo mal como especie seguramente está pasando y los dioses eso lo saben y están muy conscientes. Son muy pocos animes que de verdad me sorprenden y hay que decir que este es uno de ellos, tanto por su historia la cual es bastante particular como por su animación, que al final del día es lo que más o menos marca la línea de que si estas producciones terminan siendo buenas o no.

The world as we know it has been a place in decay, a place where beyond living in peace and harmony humans are determined to do the opposite, wars, conflicts, anything that may be doing wrong as a species is surely happening and the gods know that and are well aware of it. There are very few anime that really surprise me and I must say that this is one of them, both for its story which is quite particular and for its animation, which at the end of the day is what more or less marks the line of whether these productions end up being good or not.

Este anime en especifico es uno que, según mi opinión, lo tiene todo. Tiene buenos combates, buenos personajes, buena historia y además toca temas de cultura general para que vayas aprendiendo cosas al mismo tiempo que ves una cabeza decapitada, un brazo ser arrancado o todo un cuerpo explotar. Esa combinación siempre me ha parecido curiosa pero super eficiente. No se si sea un anime conocido, supongo que si, considerando que su primera temporada salió hace unos cuantos años atrás. Como ya dije este ha sido uno de las cosas más top que he visto últimamente y es por eso que hoy vengo a hablarles un poco de que va y de lo que se pueden esperar.

This specific anime is one that, in my opinion, has it all. It has good fights, good characters, good story and it also touches on general culture so that you learn things at the same time you see a decapitated head, an arm being ripped off or a whole body explode. That combination has always seemed to me curious but super efficient. I don't know if it's a known anime, I guess it is, considering that its first season came out a few years ago. As I said this has been one of the top things I've seen lately and that's why today I'm here to tell you a little bit about what it's about and what you can expect.

De que trata entonces esto? - pues a ver, como ya más o menos decía antes, el mundo está sumido en una desgracia perenne en parte gracias a la humanidad completa que no ha sabido como llevar al mundo por un mejor camino. Es por esto que los dioses de las grandes religiones y mitologías de la historia se reúnen en una especie de convención para discutir aquello y así extinguir de una vez a todos los humanos. Todo cambia en el momento en el que una Valquiria llamada Brunilda toma la palabra para interceder por los humanos y propone que se haga una especie de torneo entre dioses y humanos para decidir el lado ganador y un poco el destino de la humanidad. Serán 13 participantes por lado y el que gane 7 combates será el ganador.

So what is this all about? - Well, as I more or less said before, the world is in a perennial misfortune partly thanks to the whole of humanity that has not known how to lead the world on a better path. This is why the gods of the great religions and mythologies of history meet in a sort of convention to discuss this and thus extinguish all humans once and for all. Everything changes when a Valkyrie named Brunhild takes the floor to intercede for the humans and proposes a kind of tournament between gods and humans to decide the winning side and the fate of humanity. There will be 13 participants per side and the one who wins 7 fights will be the winner.

Si ganan los humanos pues se salvarán de ser aniquilados y si ganan los dioses, ya sabemos cual será el desenlace. Entre los dioses tenemos a Zeus, Thor, Poseidón, Shiva, Hércules, Buda, Odín, Loki, Hades, Ares, etc. Como ven hay una gran variedad de nombres, unos mucho más poderosos que otros y eso lo notarán en la arena. Por el lado de los humanos si hay sorpresas porque encontramos a personas como: Adam, Jack el Destripador, Lu Bu quien es un general del ejercito Chino, Raiden Tameemon, el mejor luchador de sumo de la historia; Leónidas, Nikola Tesla, entre otros. Honestamente desde que comienza esta historia te engancha de una manera tal que es muy complicado dejarla de ver, de hecho es posible que cada temporada la veas en un mismo día.

Among the gods we have Zeus, Thor, Poseidon, Shiva, Hercules, Buddha, Odin, Loki, Hades, Ares, etc. As you can see, there is a great variety of names, some much more powerful than others, and you will notice this in the arena. On the human side there are surprises because we find people like: Adam, Jack the Ripper, Lu Bu who is a general of the Chinese army, Raiden Tameemon, the best sumo wrestler in history; Leonidas, Nikola Tesla, among others. Honestly, from the very beginning this story hooks you in such a way that it is very difficult to stop watching it, in fact it is possible to watch each season in the same day.

Se acuerdan de los torneos de Dragon Ball?, de esos que si sales de la plataforma o mueres obviamente pierdes el combate? - pues algo muy parecido es esto. Hay una arena que se ajusta según cada lucha ya que cada dios o humano tiene diferente habilidades por lo que el escenario nunca será el mismo y eso lo hace bastante interesante. Por ejemplo, cuando pelea Poseidón todo se llena de agua, cuando lo hace Jack el Destripador nos trasladamos a las calles de Londres y así con los que van saliendo a combatir. Las peleas son un escandalo, casi que hipnotizan, como siempre hay sus momentos de conversación que por lo general son lentos pero cuando empieza la acción todo se vuelve imparable, la mezcla del slow motion con la alta velocidad es de las mejores cosas, se disfruta mucho ver estas peleas.

Do you remember the Dragon Ball tournaments, the ones where if you leave the platform or die you obviously lose the fight? - Well, something very similar is this. There is an arena that adjusts according to each fight since each god or human has different abilities so the scenario will never be the same and that makes it quite interesting. For example, when Poseidon fights, everything is filled with water, when Jack the Ripper fights, we move to the streets of London and so on with those who come out to fight. The fights are a scandal, almost hypnotizing, as always there are moments of conversation that are usually slow but when the action starts everything becomes unstoppable, the mixture of slow motion with high speed is one of the best things, it is very enjoyable to watch these fights.

Como también dije es muy grafica, hay demasiada sangre, muchas mutilaciones, golpes, músculos y huesos rotos, todos los ingredientes que la hacen muy vistosa y adictiva. Detrás de todo esto también hay un trama cool, ver como interactúan los dioses entre ellos es curioso, el papel que tienen las Valquirias también es vital dentro de las peleas, de hecho es de lo más importante del anime, ellas son una pieza clave para los humanos. En realidad todo está muy bien logrado, es un producto de mucha calidad. Las animaciones diría que son perfectas, los gestos, movimientos, todo se complementa para que al final el resultado sea el gran anime que es.

Behind all this there is also a cool plot, to see how the gods interact with each other is curious, the role of the Valkyries is also vital in the fights, in fact it is one of the most important of the anime, they are a key piece for the humans. Actually everything is very well done, it is a very high quality product. The animations I would say are perfect, the gestures, movements, everything is complemented so that in the end the result is the great anime that it is.

Por último quiero hablar de la personalidad de cada personaje, todos tienen una forma de ser muy marcada que dependerá de quien sean. Zeus es muy parecido al Maestro Roshi, diría que son hermanos. Buda, Jack el Destripador, Loki, todos ellos son personajes muy únicos y fascinantes, hasta ahora de los mejores que he visto. Las Valkirias tienen lo suyo igualmente, cada una tiene un poder que la hace única y con base a eso es su forma de vivir y ser. Hasta en estas cosas cuidaron muy bien los detalles, tener personajes profundos y que llamen la atención es algo top y que se aprecia.

Finally I want to talk about the personality of each character, they all have a very marked way of being that will depend on who they are. Zeus is very similar to Master Roshi, I would say they are brothers. Buddha, Jack the Ripper, Loki, all of them are very unique and fascinating characters, so far some of the best I've seen. The Valkyries also have their own thing, each one has a power that makes them unique and based on that is their way of living and being. Even in these things they took care of the details very well, having deep characters that call the attention is something top and that is appreciated.

A lo que va de anime, que son dos temporadas, le doy un 9.5/10. Lo tiene absolutamente todo, no le veo fallas por ningún lado, bueno si, que dura relativamente muy poco, porque de resto es casi perfecto. Esto está en Netflix, la primera temporada son 12 episodios y la segunda son 15. Muy recomendada, si no lo han visto, vayan a hacerlo porque vale mucho la pena. So far in this anime, which is two seasons, I give it a 9.5/10.
