The last time we talked about this anime was when I did the summary of what was the first part of the third season and all this because this third chapter of the series is a little longer compared to the rest so to have a better understanding it was done in 2 parts. In every review I have done I always say it and today will not be the exception to the rule, if you are an anime fan you have to see this work, no more.
This third season, in terms of content and story, has been the most significant because it touches on the origins of the titans, the royal blood and how this family is so important to the whole background of the series. Let's continue with this season and see how it ends.
- Resumen // Summary.
After the coronation of Historia Reiss as the legitimate queen, several months passed where several things happened, Hanji begins a series of experiments with Eren so that he learns to use his new hardening ability and Levi gets a dying Kenny in the forest who gives him a syringe with the liquid that is capable of turning humans into titans who stole it from Rod Reiss to die "in peace".
Immediately after all this, the group led by Commander Erwin together with Hanji and Levi plan an expedition to the place where Eren's house is located in order to discover the secrets hidden in the basement and to close all the holes in the wall with Eren's new ability.
The whole legion set off towards the village where Eren lived but to their surprise they found that there was absolutely no one in that village. They make reconnaissance tasks until suddenly they are ambushed by Reiner, the titan Beast and a few more titans. This led Eren to become a Titan and fight hand to hand with the armored titan, that is, Reiner.
But then what happens? - The legion brought with them a new weapon which was a kind of exploding missile which worked up to a point because they managed to destroy Reiner's head. Reiner in his desperation gives a scream which alerts the titan beast and Berthold who in a barrel is thrown to the point of the fight thanks to the strength of the titan beast.
Berthold arrives on the other side of the wall, threatens to explode everything, transforms into the colossal titan and a pitched battle begins. The thing is that the Colossal as it released steam from his body became weaker and weaker to the point that it was extremely weak, and all this was thanks to Armin who sacrificed himself to carry out this plan. With the Colossal titan weakened, Eren took advantage of the situation and managed to perform an attack that could disable Berthold by cutting off his arms.
In parallel to all this and on the other side of the wall, commander Erwin together with Levi and part of the legion plan how to defeat the titan beast and the best thing they come up with is to create a kind of distraction so that Levi could reach him and thus give him the final blow that ends with such an enemy. In the end, he was only badly wounded and he was rescued by another titan who arrived just in time.
The strategy served halfway because yes, they managed to contain the titans, but the great Commander Erwin paid the consequences and died because of the attack of the beast titan which made Hanji take his place as the new commander of the reconnaissance legion.
After everything calmed down, the members who remained alive resumed the initial plan and went to the basement of Eren's house and managed to get 3 books with a lot of information about the history between humans and titans. Basically what they found out is that outside the walls there are many, many people living, that is to say, that they are not the only ones left.
To make the story a little shorter they also realized that a long time ago a human made a pact or deal with a titan, she dies and that power is divided among nine people or titans which eventually made them go to war with each other causing the founding Titan to leave to what would be the walled cities to live "in peace".
Having said that, one of those towns outside the walls is Marley and the people who live there have a deep hatred for the villagers, a hatred that Eren's dad grew up with because officers murdered his sister.
In the end he grows up, marries a woman of royal blood and they have a son, Zeke (who is the titan beast). Eren's father, Grisha, is imprisoned because Zeke turns him in to the police for "brainwashing" him and just before he is executed he is saved by an informant who asks Grisha to restore order to things and bring peace.
Obviously he does not succeed and that is when Eren receives all the memories of his father so that he can achieve what his father could not. The legion had to make sure of all that and they plan an expedition that takes them to the sea and it is there where they realize that the world is bigger than they imagined.
It is at this point where the third season ends, giving way to the fourth and final season of this series. Of this 4th season there is only a first part since the second will be released at the end of this year in early 2022.
