A propósito de la llegada de HBO Max a Latinoamérica hoy les quiero hablar de una muy buena serie, que ya tuve la oportunidad de ver, pero que todavía no había traído la reseña correspondiente por estos lados. Recuerdo que me la habían recomendado como una historia cómica/dramática quizás con un poco de intriga también pero que de seguro me iba a gustar y miren que así fue.

Regarding the arrival of HBO Max in Latin America, today I want to talk about a very good series, which I had the opportunity to watch, but I had not yet brought the corresponding review in these parts. I remember that it had been recommended to me as a comic/dramatic story, perhaps with a bit of intrigue as well, but that I was sure I was going to like it and I did.

Su protagonista Kaley Cuoco es la famosa Penny de TBBT (The Big Bang Theory) por lo que puede que ya viniéramos un poco predispuestos ya que fueron muchos años viéndola en un rol enteramente de comedia hasta ahora que llegaba con esta propuesta diferente. La cosa es que descubrí lo buena e increíble actriz que ella es y por tanto al final la serie resulta que es muy atrapante; así que vamos entonces a ver de que trata.

Its protagonist Kaley Cuoco is the famous Penny from TBBT (The Big Bang Theory) so we may have already come a little predisposed since it was many years seeing her in an entirely comedy role until now that she came with this different proposal. The thing is that I discovered what a good and incredible actress she is and therefore in the end the series turns out to be very catchy; so let's see what it's all about.

La historia da inicio en un vuelo cuyo destino final es la ciudad de Bangkok en donde Cassie Bowden, quien es una azafata y quien además también tiene cierto problema con la bebida, conoce a Alexander Sokolov (Michiel Huisman) uno de los pasajeros del vuelo. Una vez llegan a su destino deciden pasar la noche juntos, comparten una cena, etc hasta que llega el día siguiente y con él un crimen el cual cambiará sus vidas en 180 grados.

The story begins on a flight whose final destination is the city of Bangkok where Cassie Bowden, who is a stewardess and who also has a drinking problem, meets Alexander Sokolov (Michiel Huisman) one of the passengers on the flight. Once they arrive at their destination they decide to spend the night together, share a dinner, etc. until the next day arrives and with it a crime that will change their lives in 180 degrees.

Esta serie cuando la empezamos a ver nos vamos dando cuenta que no es más que un thriller con sus toques de comedia el cual nos lleva a tres localidades (Bangkok, Nueva York y Roma) a través de los cuales Cassie está prácticamente huyendo porque ella decidió no informar nada a la policía de lo sucedido aquella noche y es que la resaca era tan grande que no recuerda absolutamente nada de lo que pasó.

When we start watching this series we realize that it is nothing more than a thriller with touches of comedy which takes us to three locations (Bangkok, New York and Rome) through which Cassie is practically on the run because she decided not to report anything to the police about what happened that night and the hangover was so big that she does not remember anything of what happened.

Esta decisión es el detonante de muchas calamidades y desaciertos que comienza a vivir Cassie y todo por la necesidad obvia de querer saber y encontrar al asesino porque para los ojos de todo el mundo y del mismo FBI ella es la principal sospechosa. Otro de los enigmas de esta serie es el por qué nuestra azafata tiene la necesidad de ahogar sus penas en grandes cantidades de alcohol, un trauma que parece venir de su infancia.

This decision is the trigger of many calamities and misfortunes that Cassie begins to live and all for the obvious need to know and find the murderer because for the eyes of everyone and the FBI itself she is the main suspect. Another of the enigmas of this series is why our stewardess has the need to drown her sorrows in large quantities of alcohol, a trauma that seems to come from her childhood.

También nos encontramos a Annie (Zosia Mamet) quien es la mejor amiga de Cassie y quien será quien la ayude y apoye en más de una ocasión. La verdad es que todo esto se convierte en una gran aventura donde lo que hay es mucha tensión y una sensación de que las cosas van salir mal en todo momento; y si a todo esto le agregamos un toque de humor o comedia negra pues el resultado termina siendo muy bueno y llamativo.

We also meet Annie (Zosia Mamet) who is Cassie's best friend and who will help and support her on more than one occasion. The truth is that all this becomes a great adventure where there is a lot of tension and a feeling that things are going to go wrong at all times; and if we add a touch of humor or black comedy to all this, the result ends up being very good and striking.

- Opinion.

Lo primero que quiero decir es el gran acierto que fue Kaley Cuoco porque es una actriz que viene con una gran carga en la comedia la cual supo aprovechar y explotar para que así este personaje fuera un éxito. Otra de las cosas que realmente llamaron mi atención fueron los "cliffhanger" que siempre van a encontrar al final de cada capitulo, eso hace que la curiosidad y las ganas de descubrir quien fue el asesino, por ejemplo, aumenten y por tanto quieras seguir viendo.

The first thing I want to say is the great success that Kaley Cuoco was because she is an actress who comes with a great load in comedy which she knew how to take advantage and exploit so that this character was a success. Another thing that really caught my attention were the "cliffhanger" that you will always find at the end of each chapter, that makes the curiosity and the desire to discover who was the murderer, for example, increase and therefore want to keep watching.

En cuanto a los personajes les puedo decir que uno de los pocos aciertos fue el del Cassie, todos los demás no es que sean malos pero al final no trascienden y no dan un peso real e importante a la historia. Es que Cassie es un personaje con tantos problemas y traumas que realmente absorbe toda la atención y el drama que se genera en cada episodio.

As for the characters I can tell you that one of the few successes was Cassie, all the others are not bad but in the end they do not transcend and do not give a real and important weight to the story. Cassie is a character with so many problems and traumas that really absorbs all the attention and drama that is generated in each episode.

La realidad es que es una buena serie que si vale la pena verla, es muy divertida, tiene cambios en la trama que son realmente sorpresivos y cómicos y sobre todo logra mantener ese suspense e intriga que es una de las cosas que enganchan más de esta serie. Una nota que le puedo poner es 7.5/10 porque realmente cumplió con su objetivo el cual es entretener al espectador, así que no consigues nada que ver te la recomiendo sin ninguna duda.

The reality is that it is a good series that if worth watching, it is very funny, has plot changes that are really surprising and funny and above all manages to maintain that suspense and intrigue that is one of the things that hook more of this series. A note that I can put is 7.5/10 because it really fulfilled its goal which is to entertain the viewer, so you do not get anything to see I recommend it without any doubt.
