Hello community, how are you? I hope everyone is very well, today I wanted to change my routine, I had some time without making another post just because I was thinking only about video games until my sister gave me the advice to stop thinking only about that, that there are more things I can talk about, so today I decided to talk about my favorite movie about the end of the world, a movie that you may know by heart, it's about 2012.
Released on November 14, 2009, directed by Roland Emmerich, produced by Centropolis Entertainment and distributed by Columbia Pictures, the film earned $225 million in its first weekend (worldwide) and to date has grossed $759.9 million worldwide. The plot focuses on the family of Jackson Curtis, a writer and driver who works for Yuri Karpov, but there is also the story of Tenzin's family and the government side (Adrian Hemsley, Carl Anheuser, Thomas Wilson...), at the same time as Tenzin's family, the 3 families try to survive in different ways in a series of catastrophes around the world by a phenomenon of the sun, predicted by the Mayan calendar on December 21, 2012.
I can't remember the first time I saw this movie, I'm sure it was more than 8-9 years ago, but I'm more than sure it was clearly when it was being shown on TV. The thing is that since that time I'm sure I've seen the movie at least more than 25 times until today, I've always loved the movie and the reasons are as follows....
Chaos, chaos and more chaos
For some unknown reason, I like chaos and this movie has that in abundance, maybe it is because at the moment of watching the movie, I am seeing something that I may never see, an earthquake that lifts the streets and sinks them into the sea, a giant donut crushing cars or directly a tsunami that covers half of Everest. But every trick has its explanation, the magic that gives life to this movie is its special effects. The special effects are the reason why the movie is so special and is something that should not be missing by logic to be a natural disaster movie, the special effects are very real at all times of the film and are really detailed, one of the moments in which you can appreciate this is when they leave Los Angeles, in all that scene driving and finally flying over the city you can appreciate every detail that they placed in the film.
The bad thing about the film
There are some details I want to mention about the movie that I really don't see much sense, like that even though the plot of the movie is in December I haven't seen at least one reference to Christmas (I don't know how are the traditions in other countries, I start to celebrate Christmas since the beginning of November), or that in the scene in Yellowstone Jackson could park Charlie's caravan at least a couple of meters ahead to be closer to the plane, in this same scene how the hell did Jackson to get out of the caravan? when they are leaving LA in a limo how could they get out of a building that was collapsing right on top of them, I can imagine that all these details and some more, are to give us a moment of suspense and worry about the protagonists for a while, but they remind me of a saga where everyone was furious while driving. Despite having a running time of almost 3 hours, it's a movie with a somewhat loose plot, but the goal of seeing destruction is there. On the other hand there are the good things, before I had no idea what they were saying at the beginning of the movie, I only watched it for the disasters, but the last few times I have seen the movie I have come across several details that are obvious to most, did I tell you about the special effects? Exactly, it is the most striking of the film, so the script was not something that took a lot of work, it is common to make this film something commercial.

1 - The Yellowstone explosion
Undoubtedly the explosion in Yellowstone was the best scene for me, Charlie Frost telling how the ash cloud is going to advance (which manages to hit correctly, another detail that I liked), trees and earth flying through the air, is the scene that I liked the most of the whole movie, and then there is the tsunami in China, which I liked a lot for the gigantic wave that covered very large mountains, the tsunami that gave the complete "end" of the world. Not to mention the departure from Los Angeles in a small plane, flying dodging buildings, explosions, people and even a train, so that after they left, they saw the city in rubble, the best scene of the film in terms of destruction. Not everything is explosion and buildings falling piece by piece, I really liked Adrian's way to convince them to open the doors of the ark, it gave me a smile to see how they had finally shut Carl Anheuser up. And finally the conversation between Charlie and Curtis, talking about what was really going on in Yellowstone and in the world, Charlie's conspiracy about the people the government silenced, a scene that makes Charlie Frost my favorite character.

Espero que todos estén muy bien, el dio de hoy he querido cambiar mi rutina, tenía tiempo sin hacer otro post solo porque pensaba solo en videojuegos hasta mi hermana me dio el consejo de dejar de pensar solo en eso, que hay más cosas de las que puedo hablar, así que hoy he decidido hablar acerca de mi película favorita acerca del fin del mundo, una película que tal vez conozca de memoria, se trata de 2012.
Salió el 14 de noviembre de 2009, es dirigida por Roland Emmerich, su productora fue Centropolis Entertaiment y fue distribuida Columbia Pictures, la película gano 225 millones de dólares en su primer fin de semana (a nivel mundial) y a día de hoy recaudo 759,9 millones de dólares en todo el mundo. La trama se centra en la familia de Jackson Curtis, un escritor y chofer que trabaja para Yuri Karpov, pero también está la historia de la familia de Tenzin y la parte del gobierno (Adrian Hemsley, Carl Anheuser, Thomas Wilson...), al mismo tiempo que la familia de Tenzin, las 3 familias intentan sobrevivir de maneras distintas en una serie de catástrofes en todo el mundo por un fenómeno del sol, predicho por el calendario maya el 21 de diciembre de 2012.
No puedo recordar la primera vez que vi esta película, estoy seguro de que fue hace más de 8-9 años, pero estoy más que seguro que fue claramente que la estaban pasando en televisión. La cosa es que desde ese momento estoy seguro de haber visto la película al menos más de 25 veces hasta el día de hoy, la película me ha gustado mucho desde siempre y las razones son las siguientes...
Caos, caos y más caos
Por alguna razón que desconozco, me gusta el caos y esta película tiene esto de sobra, tal vez sea porque al momento de ver la película, estoy viendo algo que posiblemente nunca vaya a ver, un terremoto que levante las calles y las hunda en el mar, una dona gigante aplastando autos o directamente un tsunami que cubra la mitad del Everest. Pero todo truco tiene su explicación, la magia que da vida a esta película son sus efectos especiales. Los efectos especiales la razón por la que la pelicula es tan especial y es algo que no debía faltar por lógica al ser una película de desastres naturales, los efectos especiales son muy reales en todo momento de la película y son realmente detallados, uno de los momentos en los que se puede apreciar esto es cuando salen de Los Angeles, en toda esa escena manejando y finalmente volando sobre la ciudad se puede apreciar cada detalle que colocaron en la película.
Lo malo de la película
Hay algunas algunos detalles que quiero mencionar de la película que la verdad veo con poco sentido, como que a pesar de que la trama de la película es en diciembre no he visto al menos una referencia a navidad (no sé cómo son las tradiciones en otros países, yo empiezo a celebrar navidad desde principios de noviembre), o que en la escena en Yellowstone Jackson pudo estacionar la caravana de Charlie al menos un par de metros adelante para estar más cerca de la avioneta, en esta misma escena ¿Cómo rayos hizo Jackson para salir de la caravana?, cuando están saliendo de LA en limosina ¿Cómo pudieron salir de un edificio que se derrumbaba justo encima de ellos?, puedo imaginar que todos estos detalles y algunos más, son para dar un momento de suspenso y preocuparnos por los protagonistas por un tiempo, pero me recuerdan a una saga en la que todos estaban furiosos mientras conducían. A pesar de tener una duración de casi 3 horas, es una película con una trama algo floja, pero el objetivo de ver destrucción está allí. Por otra parte están las cosas buenas, antes no tenía ni idea de lo que decían al principio de la película, solo la veía por los desastres, pero las últimas veces que he visto la película me he encontrado con varios detalles que son obvios para la mayoría, ¿ya les conté de los efectos especiales? Exacto, es lo mas llamativo de la película, por lo cual el guion no fue algo que llevara mucho trabajo, es común para hacer de esta película algo comercial.

1 - La explosión de Yellowstone
Sin duda alguna la explosión en Yellowstone fue la mejor escena para mi, Charlie Frost contando como la nube de cenizas va a avanzar (que logra acertar correctamente, otro detalle que me gusto), arboles y tierra volando por los aires, es la escena que mas me gusto de toda la película, y luego esta el tsunami de china, el cual me gusto mucho por la gigantesca ola que cubrió montañas muy grandes, el tsunami que dio el completo "fin" del mundo. Ni se diga de la salida de Los Angeles en avioneta, volando esquivando edificios, explosiones, personas y hasta un tren, para que luego de que salieran, vieran a la ciudad hecha escombros, la mejor escena de la película en cuanto a destrozos se trata. No todo es explosión y edificios cayendo pedazo a pedazo, me gusto mucho la manera de Adrian para convencer a que abrieran las puertas del arca, me dio una sonrisa ver como por fin habían dejado callado a Carl Anheuser. Y finalmente la conversación entre Charlie y Curtis, hablando de lo que realmente estaba pasando en Yellowstone y en el mundo, la conspiración de Charlie acerca de las personas que el gobierno silencio, una escena que hace que Charlie Frost sea mi personaje favorito.
Y así es como termina el post de hoy, si, es una película con el propósito de hacer dinero, por es la historia esta algo simple, pero los desastres no faltan jaja, pero por alguna razón la vi 20 veces, espero que les haya gustado y si quieren compartir una opinión acerca de la película, obviamente pueden comentarlo, ¡Hasta la próxima!
