A mother is capable of anything to protect her children. In this film, let's see how a woman will do what she never thought she could do to keep her two children safe.

Filmmaker Abner Pastoll presents the new work. In his previous film, Road Games, he showed that he has a talent for these horror thrillers. Again, he prefers to go the safe way. It's a typical story of the genre, which doesn't take risks. You could say that it's something predictable and we know what the protagonist of the story will do. But it's ideal to have a good time, especially in the bloody moments.
The good woman...
Sarah is a woman with two small children, she is having a hard time financially and also trying to overcome the loss of her husband, who was killed and the newspapers reported him as a criminal. One afternoon, back at home with the two children, on the same street, a young delinquent steals the drugs that two dealers have in the trunk of their vehicle. The thief, enters Sarah's house to hide. From that moment on, the criminal world crosses over in this good woman's life. Indicating a series of events that will push our protagonist to the limit.

The villains in the film are the stereotype we usually see in the genre. They're super bad villains. The men who work for the crime boss in the area, they look tough, but at the same time they're kind of dumb. They are beings who live in darkness. This detail is the only thing that bothers them about this kind of film. The villains read, eat or give orders, always in spaces that are too dark. I know that visually it is to give the sensation of threat.
The good actress...

The character Sarah is played by Irish actress Sarah Bolger. We have seen her in several series, such as The Tydors and Mayans MC and she worked in the 2002 film, In America. She is the soul of the film, developing her role in the story in a convincing way. I felt empathy in the first few minutes. She manages to convince us to be that good woman in the title, frightened when she sees the stranger enter the house, always looking to protect the two small children, the fear will disappear in the course of the story to make way for a fatal woman.
The film has a good rhythm, which doesn't let up, keeping our attention. Of course, what I enjoy most are the scenes of violence and the final climax. I hope the director will take more risks in the next film. He has made a good product using conventional elements of the genre. I think if he adds new elements, of more surprise and impact, he will give us great titles in the future.
Put the popcorn in the microwave, uncover the coke and enjoy watching this good woman take everyone away.

My Rankin: 3.5/5
