Vleesdag - Meat Kills

My God! It's been a while since I've enjoyed a good bloodbath. As far as extreme horror movies go, I'm quite a fan of intense gore, and this film definitely delivers. It's a movie from last year, which premiered at the Sitges Film Festival for its visual effects, but I only found it a few days ago and was able to feast on viscera, pork, and lots of blood.

I saw several negative reviews of the film, solely because of its gore, but they're from those people whose favorite movies are garbage from this decade, especially superhero films. So I don't pay them any attention; I know that when they criticize something, it's precisely what fascinates me. Of course, everyone has their own tastes; I don't want to impose anything on anyone, and that's why I loved the film's plot.

Without revealing any plot details, the film is about a group of radical left-wing progressives who are against meat-eaters. This minority of vegetarians and vegans are activists who use them to organize absurd protests.

It's fine if you don't want to eat meat, don't. If you don't eat beef, pork, venison, etc., that's your business. I respect what everyone does with their life. Eat what you want. If you only want to live on vegetables and things like that, I won't interfere. The problem is that you, who are like that, want to impose your worldview on the rest of humanity, on those of us who like to eat meat. Like me! So those protests in front of places where meat is served, and any other kind of protest organized by these manipulated groups, are complete nonsense. If you don't eat meat, that's your business, just leave those who do alone. It's that simple!

The problem with these groups is that they want to impose their worldview by force. I've seen countless ludicrous reports about the protests organized by these lunatics. And I assure you that people in real life would behave just like those in the movie. Because these minorities who spend their time complaining about their supposed rights are, deep down, full of violence. Unfortunately, the world is currently suffering under the dictatorship of minorities.

The film takes place in a pig slaughterhouse. A spectacular setting for a gory horror film. There's something magnetic about a pig slaughterhouse, and the fact that pigs appear in a horror film is also appealing. It's in this place that the group of activists will enter and begin to torture the family that runs the business.

It's a film that goes straight for the violence, the brutality of its images, the blood. And that fascinates me. I've said it before, with similar films. This kind of violence in horror films manages to produce a strange emotion in me. Of course, I identified with the patriarch, the head of the family who raises pigs and slaughters them to sell their meat. Each death gave me enormous satisfaction. That's why I love these kinds of films; they satisfy my fetish for the macabre.

I want more movies like this. Entertaining movies. I don't mind a few inconsistencies in the script; that's beside the point. It's about enjoying the deaths and the copious amounts of blood. It immediately reminded me of the new wave of French horror cinema that was very popular a few years ago and produced incredible titles, like Martyrs. That's why this Dutch film surprised me.

It's directed by the Dutch filmmaker Martijn Smits, and I've already become a fan. I want to see some of his earlier work, but it's hard to find them around here. I've been researching the cast, and most of them are young actors with very little filmography. For me, the acting does its job; it does quite well. I enjoyed it, and besides, these kinds of movies aren't made to compete for acting awards.

As soon as I finished watching it, I started writing this review because I had to capture the excitement and satisfaction it left me with. That's why I like to search everywhere; After watching several movies that didn't do anything for me, it's a real pleasure to find something that perfectly matches my tastes.

It's brutal, it's bloody, so if you like this kind of film, you'll love the graphic violence. I recommend it, especially if you like pork as much as I do.

¡Dios mío! Hacía tiempo que no disfrutaba de una buena carnicería. En cuanto a películas de terror extremo, soy bastante fan del gore intenso, y esta película cumple con creces. Es una película del año pasado, que se estrenó en el Festival de Cine de Sitges por sus efectos visuales, pero la encontré hace solo unos días y pude darme un festín de vísceras, carne de cerdo y mucha sangre.

Vi varias opiniones negativas sobre la película, solo por su gore, pero son de esas personas cuyas películas favoritas son basura de la década actual, sobre todo de superhéroes. Así que no les presto atención; sé que cuando critican algo, es precisamente lo que me fascina. Claro que cada uno tiene sus gustos; no quiero imponerle nada a nadie, y por eso me encantó la trama de la película.

Sin revelar detalles de la trama, la película trata sobre un grupo de progresistas radicales de izquierda que están en contra de quienes comen carne. Esta minoría de vegetarianos y veganos son activistas que los utilizan para organizar protestas absurdas.

Está bien si no quieres comer carne, no lo hagas. Si no comes carne de res, cerdo, venado, etc., es asunto tuyo. Respeto lo que cada quien hace con su vida. Come lo que quieras. Si solo quieres vivir de vegetales y cosas así, no me meto. El problema es que ustedes, que son así, quieren imponer su visión al resto de la humanidad, a quienes nos gusta comer carne. ¡Como yo! Así que esas protestas frente a lugares donde se come carne, y cualquier otro tipo de protesta que organicen estos grupos manipulados, son una completa tontería. Si no comes carne, es asunto tuyo, simplemente deja en paz a quienes sí la comen. ¡Es así de simple!

El problema con estos grupos es que quieren imponer su visión del mundo por la fuerza. He visto innumerables reportajes descabellados sobre las protestas que organizan estos lunáticos. Y les aseguro que la gente en la vida real se comportaría igual que los de la película. Porque estas minorías que se pasan el tiempo quejándose de sus supuestos derechos, en el fondo, están llenas de violencia. Desafortunadamente, el mundo sufre actualmente bajo la dictadura de las minorías.

La película se desarrolla en una empresa dedicada al sacrificio y procesamiento de carne de cerdo. Un escenario espectacular para una película de terror con mucha sangre. Hay algo magnético en un matadero de cerdos, y el hecho de que aparezcan cerdos en una película de terror también resulta atractivo. Es en este lugar donde el grupo de activistas entrará y comenzará a torturar a la familia que dirige el negocio.

Es una película que va directo a la violencia, a la brutalidad de sus imágenes, a la sangre. Y eso me fascina. Ya lo he dicho antes, con películas similares. Este tipo de violencia en las películas de terror logra producirme una extraña emoción. Claro que me identifiqué con el patriarca, el cabeza de familia que cría cerdos y los sacrifica para vender su carne. Cada muerte me producía una enorme satisfacción. Por eso me encantan este tipo de películas; satisfacen mi fetiche por lo macabro.

Quiero más películas como esta. Películas entretenidas. No me importan algunas inconsistencias en el guion; eso es lo de menos. Se trata de disfrutar de las muertes y de la abundante sangre. Me recordó inmediatamente a la nueva ola del cine de terror francés que fue muy popular hace unos años y produjo títulos increíbles, como Martyrs. Por eso me sorprendió esta película holandesa.

Está dirigida por el cineasta holandés Martijn Smits, y ya me he convertido en fan. Quiero ver algunas de sus obras anteriores, pero es difícil encontrarlas por aquí. He estado investigando el reparto, y la mayoría son actores jóvenes con muy poca filmografía. Para mí, la actuación cumple su cometido; lo hace bastante bien. La disfruté, y además, este tipo de películas no están hechas para competir por premios de actuación.

En cuanto terminé de verla, empecé a escribir esta reseña porque tenía que aprovechar la emoción y la satisfacción que me dejó. Por eso me gusta buscar por todas partes; después de ver varias películas que no me transmitieron nada, es un verdadero placer encontrar algo que se ajuste a mis gustos al 100%.

Es brutal, es sangrienta, así que si te gusta este estilo de películas, te encantará la violencia gráfica. La recomiendo, sobre todo si te gusta comer cerdo como a mí.
