Willow

Review by @jeff001 · 2865d · of Willow

A good family movie.

Not an entirely new story, a child is born that will restore good to the world, and the current evil ruler wants to kill the child. While not a new story it is very much worthwhile for some of younger members of the family as it doesn't have a lot of fight scenes or lots of special effects.

In essence a child is born and sent down river where she is discovered by Willow's children. Willow is a magician in training and takes in the child until the village council meets. However, the village is attacked by a dog that was sent by the evil queen to kill the baby.

The council ultimately wants the baby gone, and Willow is given the task as he was the one that brought the baby into the village and hence brought danger to the village.

Now the adventure begins, Willow must find a "responsible" person to look after the girl. On his journey he is accompanied by various allies that also want the evil queen removed. But who is responsible, until Willow is 100 percent sure he takes it onto himself to protect the baby from the evil queen.

The queen is also a magician, but a very powerful one; so in the end we have a show down between the two. Good versus evil, and only one can prevail. Has Willow learned enough to be able to defeat the queen and ensure good will prevail or is she still too strong?
