Hello everyone, my anime fan friends, I hope you are doing great today, this time I want to talk about a series that I was putting off for a long time, and that I finished watching a few weeks ago, and I have to be honest: Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai blew me away... I'm not just talking about the girl with the bunny ears, no, I mean it hit me hard, in those ways that leave you thinking and with a silly smile after the ending is over... if I'm completely honest, at first I was like... It was just another ecchi anime that was unfunny and ridiculous... and I didn't understand why it was so popular, so I always said: 'Nah, I'll pass'. The title and the cover didn't give me a good feeling, it looked like your typical cheap fanservice anime... but believe me, this is something else, nothing to do with it! Instead, we find a super deep story, with a ton of layers, that uses the supernatural to talk about the real problems we experience in adolescence, incredible... from the first chapter, the premise completely captivated me.

The story introduces us to Sakuta Azusagawa, a high school student who seems normal, but whose life takes a 180 turn when he begins to encounter very strange phenomena, called 'Adolescence Syndrome'... yes, obviously, one day he is there, in the library and Mai Sakurajima, the famous actress, appears dressed as a bunny! But here's the good part: despite what one might think from the title, Mai is not there just for us to look at her. Her costume is a clever metaphor that you will discover when you watch the anime, she ends up tangled up in a problem due to a supernatural power, which can make them disappear.

The way the anime shows her and the other girls affected by this syndrome is a really crazy exploration of anxiety, insecurity and that difficulty of 'reading the environment', as the Japanese say, that pressure of having to fit into society... What blew my mind is that the series doesn't just stay in the weird, in the supernatural to get attention... or, it uses these strange events as a way to show internal battles that are super real, each phenomenon symbolizes an internal struggle of the characters, be it the fear of rejection, bullying, or the pressure to fit into the mold... it's a great message. This made me think a lot about how these problems are not so different from the ones we experience on a daily basis, only here they are shown in a more exaggerated, more metaphorical way... but the essence is the same.

Hola a todos, amigos fanáticos del anime, espero se estén genial en el día de hoy, en esta ocasión, les quiero hablar de una serie que estuve postergando por mucho tiempo, y que termine de ver hace algunas semanas, y tengo que ser sincero: Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai me dejó loco.. no hablo solo de la chica con las orejitas de conejo, no, me refiero a que me pegó fuerte, de esas maneras que te dejan pensando y con una sonrisa boba después de que termina el ending.. si les soy completamente honesto, al principio yo estaba como.. Que era solo otro anime ecchi sin gracia, y ridículo.. y no entendía por qué era tan popular, así que siempre decía: Nah, paso'. El título y la portada no me daban buena espina, parecía el típico anime para fanservice barato.. pero créanme, esto es otra cosa, nada que ver! En vez de eso, nos encontramos con una historia súper profunda, con un montón de capas, que usa lo sobrenatural para hablar de los problemas reales que vivimos en la adolescencia, increíble.. desde el primer capítulo, la premisa me atrapó por completo.
La historia nos presenta a Sakuta Azusagawa, un estudiante de secundaria que parece normal, pero al que la vida le da un giro de 180 cuando empieza a toparse con fenómenos rarísimos, llamados el 'Síndrome de la Adolescencia'.. sí, obvio, un día está ahí, en la biblioteca y aparece Mai Sakurajima, la actriz famosa, vestida de conejita! pero aquí viene lo bueno: a pesar de lo que uno podría pensar por el título, Mai no está ahí solo para que la miremos. Su disfraz es una metáfora inteligente que descubrirían cuando vean el anime, acaba enredada en un problema por un poder sobrenatural, que puede hacerles desaparecer.
La forma en que el anime nos muestra a ella y a las otras chicas afectadas por este síndrome es una exploración re-loca de la ansiedad, la inseguridad y esa dificultad de 'leer el ambiente', como dicen los japoneses, esa presión de tener que encajar a la fuerza en la sociedad.. Lo que a mí me voló la cabeza es que la serie no se queda solo en lo raro, en lo sobrenatural para llamar la atención.. o, usa esos sucesos extraños como una forma de mostrar batallas internas que son súper reales, cada fenómeno simboliza una lucha interna de los personajes, ya sea el miedo al rechazo, el bullying, o la presión de encajar en el molde.. es un gran mensaje. Esto me hizo pensar un montón en cómo esos problemas no son tan distintos a los que vivimos nosotros en el día a día, solo que aquí los muestran de una forma más exagerada, más metafórica.. pero el fondo es el mismo.

What I have to highlight is the chemistry between the characters, especially Sakuta and Mai... Sakuta is like a breath of fresh air, among the typical protagonists of romantic comedies... the guy is sarcastic, gets to the point, and doesn't give a damn what others think... nothing to do with those shy, clumsy protagonists we always see... his conversations with Mai are great, really. At first she seems super serious, all elegant, but she has a dry sense of humor and loves to test Sakuta, and that makes their relationship real and fun! The chemistry between them is incredible, but really... it doesn't feel forced at all, not fake at all, and that's something few series manage to do so well, you really notice the affection and appreciation that grows...

Also, the way the series is put together helps a lot to not get bored, instead of getting stuck on a single problem, the anime divides the story into arcs, and each one focuses on a girl with her own problem with teenage syndrome... this makes the series never get repetitive or boring! Just when you think you've got it all figured out, boom! another character appears with an equally captivating story, I loved how each arc adds something new, showing different sides of how social pressure affects young people... not to mention the script and the dialogues are some of the best in the anime... the conversations have a perfect rhythm: they are intelligent, deep and, above all, they sound natural! Every line seems to have a meaning, whether it's to develop the characters, to tell you something important, or simply to get a good laugh at a joke. Several times I had to pause the episode to process a line that left me thinking, or to admire how the series manages to capture human emotions so well.

que sí o sí tengo que destacar es la química entre los personajes, sobre todo Sakuta y Mai.. es que Sakuta es como un respiro de aire fresco, dentro de los típicos protagonistas de comedias románticas.. el tipo es sarcástico, va al grano, y le da tres pepinos lo que piensen los demás.. nada que ver con esos protas tímidos torpes que vemos siempre.. sus conversaciones con Mai son geniales, de verdad. Ella al principio parece súper seria, toda elegante, pero tiene un humor ácido y le encanta poner a prueba a Sakuta, y eso hace que su relación sea real y divertida! La química entre ellos es increíble, pero de verdad.. no se siente nada forzado, nada falso, y eso es algo que pocas series logran hacer tan bien, realmente notas el cariño y aprecio que va creciendo..
Además, la forma en que está armada la serie ayuda un montón a que no te aburras, en vez de clavarse en un solo problema, el anime divide la historia en arcos, y cada uno se centra en una chica con su propio problema con el síndrome de la adolescencia.. esto hace que la serie nunca se ponga repetitiva ni aburrida! Justo cuando piensas que ya entendiste todo, ¡pum!, aparece otro personaje con una historia igual de atrapante, me encantó cómo cada arco le suma algo nuevo, mostrando diferentes caras de cómo la presión social afecta a los jóvenes.. ni hablar del guion y los diálogos son de lo mejor del anime..las conversaciones tienen un ritmo perfecto: son inteligentes, profundas y, sobre todo, suenan naturales! Cada frase parece tener un sentido, ya sea para que los personajes se desarrollen, para contarte algo importante o simplemente para sacarte una buena carcajada con un chiste, varias veces me pasó de tener que pausar el episodio para procesar alguna frase que me dejó pensando, o para admirar cómo la serie logra captar tan bien las emociones humanas..

Let's talk about the animation... the truth is that it's well done, it does its job, it doesn't blow your mind with explosions of colors or weird effects, but you can see the detail in the expressions and emotional moments, and that's really appreciated! The character designs are cool, each one with their own style, so you don't feel like they all look the same, you know what I mean? I really liked how they managed to make Mai and the other girls look different from each other, without falling into the typical clichés, now, the music... here I have to be honest, it left me a little cold... the background music is there, it does its job, but it's not one of those that gets stuck in your head.

The opening is catchy, yes, it was liked, but it's very typical... but watch out!, the ending does deserve a separate mention... that song, sung by the voice actresses of each character, wow!, manages to capture the melancholic vibe of the anime in an incredible way... it's not normal that I like an ending more than the opening, but in this case, Fukashigi no Carte gives it an extra emotional depth, it's even easily distinguishable, I, who had never seen the anime, could recognize it for years, I heard it, and said; "ah the bunny ending" had an incredible reach to the point that you can recognize and associate it with the series immediately.

Another thing I loved about this anime is that it doesn't take the easy route of your typical supernatural harem... although there are several girls in the story, the main idea isn't to see who ends up with the main character, but rather the internal problems of each one and how they grow throughout the series... there's no cheap fanservice or awkward scenes that take you out of the story here, on the contrary, it focuses on solving real problems using metaphors, and that makes it feel much more mature and interesting.

Vamos a hablar de la animación.. la verdad es que está bien hecha, cumple, no es que te vuele la cabeza con explosiones de colores o efectos rarísimos, pero sí que se nota el detalle en las expresiones y en los momentos emotivos, y eso se agradece un montón! Los diseños de los personajes están chéveres, cada uno con su propio estilo, así no te pasa que todos parecen iguales, ¿me entiendes? Me gustó mucho cómo lograron que Mai y las otras chicas se vieran diferentes entre sí, sin caer en los típicos clichés, ahora, la música.. aquí sí tengo que ser sincero, me dejó un poco frío..a música de fondo está ahí, hace su trabajo, pero no es de esas que te quedan pegadas en la cabeza.
El opening es pegajoso, sí, gustó, pero es muy típico.. pero ¡ojo!, el ending sí se merece una mención aparte.. esa canción, cantada por las actrices de voz de cada personaje, ¡uf!, logra captar la onda melancólica del anime de una manera increíble.. o es normal que un ending me guste más que el opening, pero en este caso, Fukashigi no Carte le da una profundidad emocional extra, incluso es fácilmente distinguible, yo que nunca había visto el anime, pude reconocerlo desde hace años, lo oía, y decía; "ah el ending de la conejita" tuvo un alcance increíble a tal punto que lo puedes reconocer y asociar con la serie inmediatamente.
Otra cosa que me encantó de este anime es que no se va por el camino fácil del típico harem sobrenatural.. aunque hay varias chicas en la historia, la idea principal no es ver quién se queda con el prota, sino más bien los problemas internos de cada una y cómo crecen a lo largo de la serie.. aquí no hay fanservice barato ni escenas incómodas que te saquen de la historia, al contrario, se enfoca en resolver problemas reales usando metáforas, y eso lo hace sentir mucho más maduro e interesante!

To be honest, when I first started watching this show, I wasn’t expecting much. The title and the visuals made me think it was going to be your typical cliché story, but I ended up being treated to one of the most amazing and heartwarming experiences I’ve ever had in anime. It blew my mind, how I connected with the characters and their struggles, there were times when I laughed my head off and others that truly touched my soul, almost making me cry, but what struck me the most was how the anime uses the supernatural as if it were part of real life, not just to shock you. 'Adolescence Syndrome' isn’t just a weird idea, but it really represents the emotional struggles we go through when we’re young. It reminded me of those confusing years and the pressure to fit in when all we wanted was to be understood. I’ve seen a ton of rom-coms and slice of life anime, but Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai feels totally different.

It's a series that not only entertains you, but also leaves you thinking... it's perfect for those looking for a story with intelligent dialogue, real relationships, and a bit of mystery. My final score: 9.5/10.. I give it this score not only because it exceeded my expectations, but because it left me with a feeling of satisfaction and a ton of ideas swirling around in my head, the story is incredible, the characters touch your heart, the animation is well done and the message it gives you is something we can all identify with.. if you have ever had an anime that surprises you and ends up being something totally different from what you thought, then you will understand why Bunny Girl Senpai is special, it is more than just a story of a boy helping girls with weird problems: it is a reflection on youth, social pressure and that need we all have to be seen and understood..

This anime has movies that act as sequels, I have seen all the movies and I loved them, they never lost the essence and charm of this series, they exploit the characters much more and offer us really deep stories, we see how the relationship of the protagonists evolves and how they face problems.. without a doubt, I recommend that you look for the movies to watch How to continue this great story. Si les soy sincero, cuando empecé a ver esta serie, no esperaba mucho.. el título y la imagen me hacían pensar que sería la típica historia cliché, pero terminé encontrándome con una de las experiencias más increíbles y que más me ha llegado al corazón en el anime.. me voló la cabeza, cómo conecté con los personajes y sus problemas, hubo momentos en los que me reí a morir y otros que de verdad me tocaron el alma, y casi llore, pero lo que más me impactó fue cómo el anime usa lo sobrenatural como si fuera parte de la vida real, no solo para sorprenderte. El 'Síndrome de la Adolescencia' no es solo una idea rara, sino que representa súper bien los problemas emocionales que vivimos cuando somos jóvenes.. me hizo acordar de esos años de confusión y de la presión por encajar cuando lo único que queríamos era que nos entendieran, be visto un montón de comedias románticas y animes de slice of life, pero Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai se siente totalmente diferente.
Es una serie que no solo te entretiene, sino que también te deja pensando.. es perfecta para los que buscan una historia con diálogos inteligentes, relaciones reales y un poco de misterio. Mi nota final: 9.5/10.. se la doy no solo porque superó mis expectativas, sino porque me dejó con una sensación de satisfacción y un montón de ideas dando vueltas en la cabeza, la historia es increíble, los personajes te llegan al corazón, la animación está bien hecha y el mensaje que te da es algo con lo que todos nos podemos identificar.. si alguna vez te ha pasado que un anime te sorprende y termina siendo algo totalmente diferente a lo que pensabas, entonces vas a entender por qué Bunny Girl Senpai es especial, es más que una simple historia de un chico ayudando a chicas con problemas raros: es una reflexión sobre la juventud, la presión social y esa necesidad que tenemos todos de que nos vean y nos entiendan..
Este anime tiene películas que actúan como secuelas, yo he visto todas las películas y me encantaron, nunca perdieron la esencia y el encanto de esta serie, explotan mucho más a los personajes y nos ofrecen historias realmente profundas, vemos cómo la relación de los protagonistas evolucionan y como se van enfrentando a los problemas.. sin duda, les recomiendo que busquen kas películas para que vean como continuar esta gran historia.
