Hey guys, I hope all goes fine for you. Today I want to share my analysis about one of the last Marvel Movies: Shang chi and the legend of the ten rings that were released the past year on the big screen as well as on streaming. Specifically, I'd like to comment on the next points:
- The superheroes are spread around the world. With this I want to say that any country, town or nation can harbor someone with superpowers, for example, the oriental part of the world that had been taken in count bit in this movie highlights pretty since the characters, the symbols, the histories, all speak about the east.
Indeed, The legend about the ten rings begins when Wenwu (The Shang-Chi's Father) use them to conquer and to dominate reigns by hundreds and hundreds of years until he goes to Ta-los Village and he meets with Jiang Li, who would be his fiancee and with which he'd have two children: Shang-Chi and his little sister Xialing. As we can notice all are oriental characters, the village is Oriental and, therefore, the legend has origin there.
However, also we can see like we find the same pattern, which is common to those that get great power. In one beginning, Wenwu wanted more power but after he felled love, he leave everything to form a family. All was going fine but one day Jiang Li is murdered by her husband's ancient enemies, then he returned to the evil, to the dark moving away to the children of his side. The center of the movie plot is developed years after when Shang-Chi deals with him and inherits the ten rings, this time to realize and to defend the good.
Hola chicos, espero que todo les vaya bien. Hoy quiero compartir mi análisis sobre una de las últimas películas de Marvel: Shang chi y la leyenda de los diez anillos que se estrenó el año pasado tanto en pantalla grande como en streaming. En concreto, me gustaría comentar los siguientes puntos:
- Los superhéroes están repartidos por todo el mundo. Con esto quiero decir que cualquier país, pueblo o nación puede albergar a alguien con superpoderes, por ejemplo, la parte oriental del mundo que había sido tomada en cuenta un poco en esta película resalta bastante ya que los personajes, los símbolos, las historias, todas hablan del oriente.
En efecto, la leyenda sobre los diez anillos comienza cuando Wenwu (el padre de Shang-Chi) los utiliza para conquistar y dominar reinados por cientos y cientos de años hasta que va a la aldea de Ta-los y se encuentra con Jiang Li, que sería su prometida y con la que tendría dos hijos: Shang-Chi y su hermana pequeña Xialing. Como podemos observar todos son personajes orientales, la aldea es oriental y, por tanto, la leyenda tiene origen allí.
Sin embargo, también podemos ver como encontramos el mismo patrón, que es común a los que consiguen un gran poder. En un principio, Wenwu quería más poder pero después de enamorarse, lo dejó todo para formar una familia. Todo iba bien pero un día Jiang Li es asesinada por los antiguos enemigos de su marido, entonces éste volvió al mal, a la oscuridad alejando a los niños de su lado. El centro de la trama de la película se desarrolla años después cuando Shang-Chi se enfrenta a él y hereda los diez anillos, esta vez para realizar y defender el bien.
- Transmission form of its message. In my conversations with my friends, we have agreed that this movie has known to combine the transmission the solid content with the humorist gender, indeed, I think this has been one of the Marvel movies with which more I've laughed, and it hasn't prevented I can catch central messages.
Some examples are the friendship between Shang-Chi and Katy, she is like a balsam in the middle of his sufferings, she gives him the touch of joy and spread it to him; the necklaces that carried Shang-Chi and his sister are not like amulets but an object with a great meaning behind it: their mother memory, the roots of their origin town, the murdered of their mother, etc.; the reconciliation of the family, Wenwu with his son and this with his sister.
The union between the ten rings and the Ta-los Village is the climax that leads all the plot, so is in that place where were locked-up some evils beings that take of the souls of the people and that Wenwu thought was a place where the villagers had imprisoned to his wife, it's for that he goes there and he attacks them together with his assassin's team.
In this context, we see the battles between the villagers and assassins and between these and the evil beings that had been broken free. Finally, Shang-Chi with the ten rings already fights with the beast's boss together with the great Dragon, Ta-los Village's great protector. Here the protagonist shows us the level he reached with his new garments.
- Forma de transmisión de su mensaje. En mis conversaciones con mis amigos, hemos coincidido en que esta película ha sabido combinar la transmisión del contenido sólido con el género humorístico, es más, creo que esta ha sido una de las películas de Marvel con las que más me he reído, y no ha impedido que pueda captar mensajes centrales.
Algunos ejemplos son la amistad entre Shang-Chi y Katy, ella es como un bálsamo en medio de sus sufrimientos, le da el toque de alegría y se lo contagia; los collares que llevaban Shang-Chi y su hermana no son como amuletos sino un objeto con un gran significado detrás: el recuerdo de su madre, las raíces de su pueblo de origen, el asesinato de su madre, etc.; la reconciliación de la familia, Wenwu con su hijo y éste con su hermana.
La unión entre los diez anillos y la aldea de Ta-los es el clímax que protagoniza toda la trama, pues es en ese lugar donde estaban encerrados unos seres malignos que se apoderan de las almas de la gente y que Wenwu pensaba que era un lugar donde los aldeanos habían apresado a su esposa, es por eso que va allí y los ataca junto con su equipo de asesinos.
En este contexto, vemos las batallas entre los aldeanos y los asesinos y entre estos y los seres malignos que se habían liberado. Finalmente, Shang-Chi con los diez anillos ya lucha con el jefe de la bestia junto al gran Dragón, el gran protector de la Aldea Ta-los. Aquí el protagonista nos muestra el nivel que ha alcanzado con sus nuevas prendas.
- The emotion of the post-credits. Already it's a stamp of the UCM its two scenes post-credits , since it leaves us with great expectation regard the future of the characters, histories, plots, etc. In this movie, the first is about the origin of the ten rings, so here we knew the history of how Shang-Chi inherit it but it's told few about where it comes from.
This scenes is interesting because Wong is who look for Shang-Chi and he drive him to a meeting with Captain Marvel and Bruce Banner, since they detected a sign in the rings, when Shang-Chi used them, they were calling to someone or... something.
The second scene also leave a history open, this time about the Shang-Chi's sister that now she became in the leader of the ten rings team, before the most were men, with her the most are women. So, both scenes can continue to develop from others perspectives that surprise us again.
- La emoción de los post-créditos. Ya es un sello del UCM sus dos escenas post-créditos, ya que nos deja con gran expectación respecto al futuro de los personajes, historias, tramas, etc. En esta película, la primera es sobre el origen de los diez anillos, por lo que aquí conocimos la historia de cómo Shang-Chi lo hereda pero se cuenta poco sobre su procedencia.
Esta escena es interesante porque Wong es quien busca a Shang-Chi y lo lleva a una reunión con la Capitana Marvel y Bruce Banner, ya que detectaron una señal en los anillos, cuando Shang-Chi los usó, estaban llamando a alguien o... algo.
La segunda escena también deja una historia abierta, esta vez sobre la hermana de Shang-Chi que ahora se convirtió en la líder del equipo de los diez anillos, antes la mayoría eran hombres, con ella la mayoría son mujeres. Así, ambas escenas pueden seguir desarrollándose desde otras perspectivas que nos sorprendan de nuevo.
