One of the particularities of this Moon Knight series is that being completely new within the MCU it has many mysteries to unravel, such as the personality disorder of the protagonist, the true intentions of the antagonist, the role of the Egyptian gods, etc.
One of the things that for example in the previous episode to me remained as a mystery is where the other Egyptian gods were, here at the beginning of this episode we can get out of this doubt because one of the avatars of the gods places the statuette of Konshu, where he is imprisoned, along with other statuettes of other gods, as wanting to tell us that this is the situation of punishment in which several Egyptian divinities are found.
The scene that follows is also revealing of a fact that had been left unfinished, and that is that after Konshu was imprisoned in a stone figure, Steven and Marc had been left unprotected, that is to say, they no longer had any kind of power or special ability. Now, who could defend them? Well, mercenaries were approaching.
It is here where the one that we can consider the co-protagonist of this series, Layla, enters into her maximum action, the same a few scenes later. Thanks to her and some incredible maneuvers she performs, they are able to get out of this situation unscathed.
Una de las particularidades de esta serie de Moon Knight es que al ser completamente nueva dentro del MCU tiene muchos misterios que desentrañar, como el trastorno de personalidad del protagonista, las verdaderas intenciones del antagonista, el papel de los dioses egipcios, etc.
Una de las cosas que por ejemplo en el episodio anterior a mí me quedó como incógnita es dónde se encontraban los demás dioses egipcios, aquí al comienzo de este episodio podemos salir de esta duda ya que uno de los avatar de los dioses coloca la estatuilla de Konshu, donde éste se encuentra aprisionado, junto a otras estatuillas de otros dioses , como queriendonos decir que esa es la situación de castigo en la cual se encuentran varias divinidades egipcias.
La escena que luego de esto se nos presenta es también reveladora de un hecho que había quedado inconcluso, y es que luego de que Konshu fuera aprisionado en una figura de piedra, Steven y Marc habían quedado desprotegidos, es decir, ya no tenían ningún tipo de poder o habilidad especial. Ahora, ¿Quién podrá defenderlos? Pues se acercaban unos mercenarios.
Es aquí donde la que podemos considerar co-protagonista de esta serie, Layla, entra en su máxima acción, lo mismo unas escenas más adelante. Gracias a ella y unas maniobras increíbles que realiza pueden salir ilesos de esta situación.
Another detail to highlight is that now it is Steven who is in possession of the body shared with Marc, however, as had also happened in previous episodes, both personalities fight a kind of battle inside the consciousness. Here said "fight" intensifies and it is interesting because each one has his argument to have the dominion of the body.
This struggle even becomes romantic, as Steven and Layla have feelings for each other and kiss, which although it seems comical (since in the end, it is the same body) does not please Marc, who hits Steven by hitting himself.
The central mission that Steven and Layla pursue is already at the point where the tomb of the goddess Ammit is located, to find her before Harrow to prevent him from resurrecting her. In the development of this plot, another couple of revealing facts occur.
The first is that Ammit is found in the tomb of a Pharaoh, Alexander the Great, in the form of a statuette. Here there is a possible connection to Khan the Conqueror who according to the comics was embodied by a famous Egyptian Pharaoh.
Otro detalle a resaltar es que ahora es Steven quien está en posesión del cuerpo compartido con Marc, sin embargo como también había sucedido en episodios anteriores, ambas personalidades libran una especie de batalla en el interior de la conciencia. Aquí dicha "lucha" se intensifica y es interesante porque cada uno tiene su argumento para tener el dominio del cuerpo.
Esta lucha se vuelve hasta romántica, ya que Steven y Layla sienten algo el uno por el otro y se besan, cosa que aunque parezca cómico (ya que al final es el mismo cuerpo)no le agrada a Marc, que golpea a Steven golpeándose a sí mismo.
La misión central que persiguen Steven y Layla es ya en el punto dónde se encuentra la tumba de la diosa Ammit, dar con ella antes que Harrow para así evitar que éste la resucite. En el desarrollo de esta trama ocurre otro par de hechos reveladores.
El primero que Ammit se encuentra en la tumba de un Faraón, Alejandro Magno, en la forma de una estatuilla. Aquí hay una posible conexión con Khan el Conquistador que según los cómics se encarnó en un famoso famoso Faraón egipcio.
The second fact is that Harrow tells Layla that Marc is to blame for her father's death since he was there at the time. When Layla goes to claim Marc, he returns to take possession of the shared body to tell her that yes it is true he was there but he could do nothing to prevent it since he was also mortally wounded, at which point Konshu chooses him as his avatar in exchange for his healing.
At the very moment they are talking about this issue Harrow arrives with his henchmen, Layla hides but Marc is exposed and in a failed attempt to escape the situation he is shot twice and strangely wakes up in an asylum, where he meets all the characters we have seen but interned, some as patients, others as working staff, there is even Harrow as the doctor who treats his illness.
Does this mean that everything we have seen has been a mental product that has no reality in itself? Well, we will have to wait for the next episode to find out.
We finish by pointing out that here Marc and Steven are each in a body, which is also strange, but there is also a reference to a possible third personality since there is a sarcophagus that Marc and Steven ignore but where someone was trying to open it. In addition, fleeing from the place where they are, they meet an Egyptian goddess, in the form of a hippopotamus, which scares both of them very much, since it is not very common to see a hippopotamus greeting you.
El segundo hecho es que Harrow le dice a Layla que Marc es el culpable de la muerte de su padre, ya que él estuvo allí en ese momento. Cuando Layla va a reclamarle a Marc, éste vuelve a tomar posesión del cuerpo compartido para decirle que sí es verdad estuvo allí pero no pudo hacer nada para evitarlo ya que él también fue herido de muerte, momento en el cual Konshu lo elige como su avatar a cambio de su sanación.
En el preciso momento en que están hablando sobre este tema llega a Harrow con sus secuases, Layla se esconde pero Marc queda expuesto y en un fallido intento de escapar de la situación le disparan dos veces y extrañamente despierta en un manicomio, donde se encuentra con todos los personajes que hemos visto pero internados, unos como pacientes, otros como personal de trabajo, incluso está Harrow como el doctor que trata su enfermedad.
¿Está queriendonos decir esto que todo lo que hemos visto ha sido un producto mental que no tiene realidad en si mismo? Pues tendremos que esperar el próximo episodio para descubrirlo.
Finalizamos apuntando que aquí Marc y Steven se encuentra cada uno en un cuerpo, cosa también extraña, pero además hay referencia a una posible tercera personalidad, ya que hay un sarcófago que Marc y Steven ignoran pero donde se encontraba alguien tratando de abrirlo. Además, huyendo del lugar donde se encuentran se consiguen con una diosa egipcia, en figura de un hipopótamo, cosa que les asusta muchísimo a ambos, pues no es muy común ver un hipopótamo que te salude.
