Hola cinéfilos, un enorme placer escribir mi primer post del año en la comunidad Movies & Tv Shows, una de mis comunidades favoritas y donde siento libertad para crear contenido y agregar valor a la plataforma siempre desde mi punto de vista personal. Paradójicamente comienzo este año 2022 hablando de una producción del 2018, quizás muchos ya tuvieron la oportunidad de verla, sin embargo, yo la he visto recientemente y quiero comentarles mi opinión sobre esta producción que me pareció bastante interesante. La Balada de Buster Scruggs.
Anteriormente he mencionado que uno de los géneros que he pasado por alto por mucho tiempo es el Western, ajeno totalmente a mi cultura, pero bastante significativo en el cine, he decidido observar esas producciones que por alguna razón he dejado de ver que se introducen en las historias de vaqueros, cabalgatas y rápidos duelos de pistolas.
Ocasionalmente reviso en Netflix la sección de películas premiadas, allí encontraremos algunos buenos clásicos del cine y también algunas muy buenas producciones que fueron premiadas en su momento, de vez en cuando observo esta gran lista de películas e incluyo en mi lista alguna película que me gustó y quiero volver a ver o alguna producción que pasé por alto y que de cierta manera resaltó en los festivales de cine o algún otro premio. La balada de Buster Scruggs había estado incluida por mucho tiempo y ahora es momento de comentar.
Sinopsis:
Una antología de 6 capítulos del género Western muestra diferentes personajes e historias independientes donde se incluyen la fantasía, comedia, la acción y el drama, ambientado en el lejano oeste y frontera de Estados Unidos.
Análisis de la Película
Así como lo he mencionado en la sinopsis, esta es una película nos muestra una antología del género Western, historias que nos hacen navegar por distintos géneros, marcando distancia en cuanto al argumento o narrativa en cada uno de los capítulos. Es una producción con historias cortas, pero donde los guionistas también introducen de buena manera al espectador, el cual se le invita a sacar sus propias conclusiones e interpretación de cada una de esas historias bien ejecutadas.
Así como en todas las antologías tengo algunos capítulos favoritos, aclarando de que todos estos capítulos con esencia propia trasmiten un mensaje diferente de distinta manera, sin embargo, a mi juicio personal me gustaron unos más que otros, les muestro mi opinión sobre los 6 capítulos.
Capítulo 1:
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs:
Quizás es la historia más comercial de todos los capítulos, la que lleva el nombre de la producción completa y la que hace que el espectador se sienta seducido por la historia. Comenzamos con una historia llena de acción y comedia, complementado con un toque de fantasía que nos introduce en el típico conflicto del lejano oeste donde el vive el que maneja su pistola más rápidamente.
En Esta producción comenzamos a observar el magnífico trabajo de fotografía y ambientación de toda esta producción, teniendo, además, la mejor banda sonora de toda esta película. Posee un mensaje de muerte y conflicto, donde quizás el más violento o el más sanguinario no necesariamente será el vencedor, sin embargo, expresa sobre la humildad y se encamina sobre la posibilidad de que alguien puede halar el gatillo más rápido que nosotros, así que cuidémonos de la soberbia.
Capítulo 2:
Near Algodones:
Esta es quizás de las más famosas gracias a un meme viral que aun luego de casi 4 años después te su estreno aun observamos en las redes sociales, sin embargo, a mi parecer es de las peores historias dentro de esta antología, a pesar de tener cierta acción en sus secuencias no me terminó de agradar, dejando un claro mensaje sobre las personas y sobre sus verdaderas intenciones, poniendo en duda no solo la credibilidad de algunos solo por sus palabras sino también al sistema de justicia, prevaleciendo una especie de karma dentro de la historia.
Capítulo 3:
Meal Ticket:
Luego de acción, comedia y varias canciones del género, esta producción nos envuelve en una historia de drama, con un cierto atractivo que es ver a Liam Neeson actuando en este capítulo, dándonos una historia con un ritmo bastante lento, quizás a punto de tornarse tedioso en algunos segmentos, sin embargo, esto hace que el espectador se sumerja en la historia y en los sentimientos de ambos protagonistas. El mensaje meramente capitalista hace realzar la historia dramática con un giro en su trama que solo lo intuimos momentos antes de su ejecución, es una muy buena historia y con un mensaje impactante y quizás el más directo de todas estas historias.
Capítulo 4:
All good canyon:
Esta historia es de mis favoritas dentro de esta antología, nos muestra una fotografía impresionante destacando el paisaje y la naturaleza, una historia con poca acción, pero con una narrativa estupenda, un ritmo lento que aumenta vertiginosamente cerca del final. Una historia de lucha entre el hombre y la naturaleza, con otro antagonista de la raza humana que se suma, otro hombre, dándonos a entender nuestro propio egoísmo y nivel autodestructivo además de ser un factor que debilita la naturaleza encaminados por nuestra propia avaricia.
Capítulo 5:
The Gal Who Got Rattled:
Otra muy buena historia dramática, protagonizada de manera sobresaliente por una mujer, este capítulo nos envuelve con ese personaje femenino y su evolución, haciendo que los sentimientos y emociones sobresalgan de la pantalla hasta el espectador, un final abrupto e inesperado nos termina otorgando un drama muy marcado y bastante entretenido sobre todo prestando atención a los detalles y a la actuación.
Capítulo 6:
The mortal Remains:
Para mí, este es el mejor, a diferencia de los otros capítulos con amplios paisajes del lejano oeste, esta secuencia transcurre dentro de una carreta, un espacio reducido donde normalmente se siente la monotonía de las imágenes, sin embargo, esta historia nos otorga buen entretenimiento con las conversaciones de los 5 personajes que se dirigen a un hotel. La conversación y las historias contadas en el carruaje nos hacen pensar en la muerte, un cochero que no se detiene hasta llevar a los pasajeros a su lugar de descanso nos lo confirma.
Poco a poco esta historia cambia en su paleta de colores, sonido y diálogos para parecerse a una verdadera historia de terror, algo bastante impresionante teniendo en cuenta el tiempo de desarrollo del capítulo y el espacio reducido donde se ocurren esas escenas. Una historia memorable donde hay que prestar mucha atención a los detalles y al dialogo, un mensaje tétrico pero muy bien ejecutado.

Opinión Final
Me agradan este tipo de producciones, relatos cortos que se desenvuelven rápidamente para entregar un mensaje donde el espectador el libre de pensar e interpretar, una muestra del verdadero cine. Es una producción con buena fotografía y secuencias interesantes, historias para pensar e incluso para ver nuevamente las que más llamen la atención, sin dudas es buen entretenimiento.
¿La Recomiendo?
Si, a un buen sector del público le parecerá entretenida, sin embargo, es necesario aclarar que no se centra en la acción y los disparos, esta producción es interesante y atractiva por esas historias de libre interpretación que nos ofrece, dándonos buen momento de entretenimiento. Quizás no es una producción para todo público, sin embargo, la recomiendo abiertamente si no han tenido la oportunidad de verla.
Por otro lago quizás es algo tarde para comentar esta producción, en ese caso quisiera saber la opinión de los lectores sobre sus capítulos preferidos y ese mensaje que pudieron captar en esta antología.

Previously I mentioned that one of the genres that I have overlooked for a long time is the Western, totally foreign to my culture, but quite significant in cinema, I have decided to watch those productions that for some reason I have stopped watching that get into stories of cowboys, horseback riding and quick gun duels.
Occasionally I check Netflix for the award winning movies section, there we will find some good movie classics and also some very good productions that were awarded at the time, from time to time I watch this great list of movies and include in my list some movie that I liked and want to watch again or some production that I overlooked and somehow stood out in film festivals or some other award. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs had been included for a long time and now it's time to comment.
Synopsis:
An anthology of 6 chapters of the Western genre shows different characters and independent stories where fantasy, comedy, action and drama are included, set in the far west and frontier of the United States.
Movie Analysis
As I mentioned in the synopsis, this is a film that shows us an anthology of the Western genre, stories that make us navigate through different genres, marking distance in terms of plot or narrative in each of the chapters. It is a production with short stories, but where the screenwriters also introduce the viewer in a good way, who is invited to draw their own conclusions and interpretation of each of these well-executed stories.
Just as in all anthologies I have some favorite chapters, clarifying that all these chapters with their own essence convey a different message in different ways, however, in my personal opinion I liked some more than others, I show you my opinion about the 6 chapters.
Chapter 1:
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs:
Perhaps it is the most commercial story of all the chapters, the one that carries the name of the entire production and the one that makes the viewer feel seduced by the story. We begin with a story full of action and comedy, complemented with a touch of fantasy that introduces us to the typical conflict of the Wild West where the one who handles his gun the fastest lives.
In this production we begin to observe the magnificent work of photography and ambience of all this production, having, in addition, the best soundtrack of all this film. It has a message of death and conflict, where perhaps the most violent or the most bloodthirsty will not necessarily be the winner, however, it expresses about humility and addresses the possibility that someone can pull the trigger faster than us, so let's beware of pride.
Chapter 2:
Near Algodones:
This is perhaps one of the most famous thanks to a viral meme that even after almost 4 years after its premiere we still observe in social networks, however, in my opinion it is one of the worst stories within this anthology, despite having some action in its sequences I did not end up liking it, leaving a clear message about people and about their true intentions, questioning not only the credibility of some just for their words but also to the justice system, prevailing a kind of karma within the story.
Chapter 3:
Meal Ticket
After action, comedy and several songs of the genre, this production wraps us in a drama story, with a certain attraction that is to see Liam Neeson acting in this chapter, giving us a story with a fairly slow pace, perhaps to the point of becoming tedious in some segments, however, this makes the viewer is immersed in the story and the feelings of both protagonists. The purely capitalist message enhances the dramatic story with a plot twist that we only intuit moments before its execution, it is a very good story with a powerful message and perhaps the most direct of all these stories.
Chapter 4:
All good canyon:
This story is one of my favorites within this anthology, it shows us stunning photography highlighting the landscape and nature, a story with little action, but with a terrific narrative, a slow pace that increases vertiginously near the end. A story of struggle between man and nature, with another antagonist of the human race joining in, another man, giving us to understand our own selfishness and self-destructive level besides being a factor that weakens nature routed by our own greed.
Chapter 5:
The Gal Who Got Rattled:
Another very good dramatic story, starring in an outstanding way by a woman, this chapter wraps us with that female character and her evolution, making the feelings and emotions stand out from the screen to the viewer, an abrupt and unexpected ending ends up granting us a very marked and quite entertaining drama especially paying attention to details and acting.
Chapter 6:
The mortal Remains:
For me, this is the best, unlike the other chapters with wide landscapes of the far west, this sequence takes place inside a wagon, a small space where you usually feel the monotony of the images, however, this story gives us good entertainment with the conversations of the 5 characters heading to a hotel. The conversation and the stories told in the carriage make us think of death, a coachman who does not stop until he takes the passengers to their resting place confirms it.
Little by little this story changes in its palette of colors, sound and dialogues to resemble a real horror story, something quite impressive considering the time of development of the chapter and the reduced space where these scenes occur. A memorable story where you have to pay close attention to details and dialogue, a gloomy message but very well executed.

I like this kind of productions, short stories that unfold quickly to deliver a message where the viewer is free to think and interpret, a sample of true cinema. It is a production with good photography and interesting sequences, stories to think about and even to watch again the ones that catch your attention, it is undoubtedly good entertainment.
Do I recommend it?
Yes, a good sector of the public will find it entertaining, however, it is necessary to clarify that it does not focus on action and shooting, this production is interesting and attractive for those stories of free interpretation that offers us, giving us a good moment of entertainment. Perhaps it is not a production for all audiences, however, I openly recommend it if you have not had the opportunity to see it.
On the other hand, perhaps it is a little late to comment on this production, in that case I would like to know the opinion of the readers about their favorite chapters and the message they were able to capture in this anthology.
