Hola Hivers amantes de las películas y series, en esta oportunidad quiero comentar sobre una película que esperé desde el año pasado y aun luego de su estreno no pude verla hasta hace muy poco, anteriormente había escrito sobre lo que suponía una de las batallas más épicas del mundo del cine desde el siglo pasado y en esta ocasión escribiré sobre mi opinión personal sobre Godzilla vs. Kong.
He estado interesado en esta película desde hace algún tiempo, sin embargo, hace muy poco decidí recargar la cuenta de HBO MAX para ponerme al día con varias de las producciones que podemos disfrutar en ese Streaming, me he perdido de varios estrenos pero es momento de ponerme al día con muchas buenas películas o que al menos espero sean buenas y entretenidas para compartir análisis y opiniones con toda la comunidad.
Godzilla vs. Kong
Esta es una película con una duración de poco menos de dos horas y fue estrenada en marzo del 2021, es una producción que la podemos catalogar en el género de ciencia ficción y que nos presenta un encuentro que puede definir la historia del planeta entero. A principios de Marzo escribí sobre el contexto y las diferentes películas de cada uno de estos monstruos además de un pequeño análisis de su evolución en la gran pantalla.
Así como lo mencioné anteriormente esta película reúne a dos titanes muy bien conocidos dentro de la industria del cine, simplemente al mencionar que se enfrentarán cara a cara hizo temblar las butacas de los cines y hacer sonar sus las cajas registradoras en las taquillas. La importancia de este encuentro se podría decir que trasciende el mundo del cine y películas, el encuentro representa parte de la cultura occidental y oriental. En mi primer post analizando la producción antes de lanzamiento menciono que Godzilla es parte del ministerio de turismo en Japón, por lo cual la cultura se encuentra implícita en la lucha de ambos titanes.
Análisis de la Película
Para analizar esta producción debemos tener en cuenta que ambos titanes tienen sus películas propias, por lo cual conoceremos aspectos básicos de la trama en esas primeras producciones, pienso que para entender la trama al menos hay que conocer ciertos aspectos de ambos monstruos y lo más importante la razón de sus reacciones que significaría una pieza importante para entender la trama de esta película.
Argumento
La humanidad queda impactada tras un inesperado ataque de Godzilla en Estados Unidos, ante esta situación la humanidad presta atención a la posibilidad de defenderse de los titanes. La solución puede estar en un proyecto ultra secreto que busca una fuente de poder casi ilimitada en el centro de la tierra en la cual se presume que se originaron los titanes.
Para encontrar esta valiosa fuente de poder que puede significar un salto tecnológico trascendental para la humanidad y sobre todo para la gloria de la empresa de tecnología APEX es necesario contar con la ayuda de otro titán. Kong tiene un vínculo especial con la pequeña niña Jia, esto es importante tenerlo en cuenta para poder transportar al simio gigante, el cual no es rival para el poder de fuego de una flota entera.
El misterio principal de esta película es con respecto a los ataques de Godzilla, en películas anteriores hemos visto a este titán colocándose a favor de la humanidad y del planeta entero teniendo en cuenta un equilibrio de poderes, por lo cual Godzilla enfrentaría a cualquier desafiante de ese equilibrio que puede colocar en peligro toda la vida en el planeta.
Kong por su parte tiene su misión que es encontrar la apreciada fuente de poder, sin embargo, así como todo sabemos este titán sabe cómo defenderse y esto es desde luego lo más atractivo de la película, ese combate épico para saber quién gana la batalla entre ambos titanes.
Solo Puede Haber Un Alfa
Este es un aspecto interesante que tenemos en cuenta sobre todo al momento de estos épicos encuentros, si hemos visto las películas anteriores sabremos como luchan estos titanes, luchan hasta el final y no se rinden nunca. La única manera de que la batalla termine es venciendo a su oponente bien sea matándolo o que se rinda y que no suponga nuevamente una amenaza.
En la película se nos hace referencia la frase “solo puede haber un alfa”, es decir solo un titán debe regir sobre los demás dando ese punto de equilibrio y seguridad al planeta. Uno de estos titanes deberá perder contra el otro para saber quién es el alfa o el titán dominante, esto se puede traducir en una magnifica pelea entre ambos hasta el final.
Ahora bien, Godzilla solo ataca a lo que supone una amenaza contra su poder y al mismo tiempo una amenaza contra el mundo entero, ¿Por qué ataca a los humanos?.
¿Acaso Godzilla se Volvió Loco?
No, Godzilla no se volvió un demente y todos sus ataques son una respuesta en contra de ese punto de equilibrio de poder antes mencionado, por lo cual queda de parte del espectador resolver este enigma y descubrir la razón del comportamiento de Godzilla con respecto a estos ataques, que sabemos que causan muchos destrozos y muertes, teniendo en cuenta que con solo un pisotón en el lugar adecuado puede dejar como calcomanías a cientos de personas.
¿Acaso Kong Representa Un Enemigo Para ese Punto de Equilibrio?
Kong en primera instancia no representa un peligro para ese punto de equilibrio a menos que busque causar destrozos en ciudades densamente pobladas, si causara alguna molestia en Godzilla este último pudo ir tranquilamente a visitarlo en la isla calavera hace varios años atrás.
¿Qué Incita a Godzilla a Atacar a Kong?
Godzilla no es de esos sujetos en las películas que buscan peleas sin razón alguna, cada movimiento tiene una razón y en este caso la pista nos la entrega el mismo tráiler, Kong es trasladado en una flota que incluye un portaaviones. Godzilla siente que a donde se dirige Kong puede hacer que cambie el equilibrio de poder por lo cual realiza un ataque preventivo sobre Kong y la flota de barcos que lo escolta. Notaremos es esta magnífica batalla culmina cuando los motores de los barcos se apagan por completo dando a entender a Godzilla que no se dirigen al lugar donde Kong cambiará ese equilibrio tan apreciado por Godzilla.
¿Quién Gana la Batalla?
Si esperaban este spoiler de carácter monumental, pues no mencionaré quien gana, sin embargo, puedo decir que así como en el boxeo los contendientes van a tener varios round y encuentros. Si conocemos a estos titanes sabremos en que tienen ventajas o cuando están en una gran desventaja, por ejemplo el luchar en mar abierto así como lo muestra el grueso de la publicidad en esta película supone una larga ventaja para Godzilla que pasa gran tiempo de su vida en las profundidades, por otro lado en un terreno seco la agilidad de Kong representan una virtud que lo puede llevar a la victoria.
El Final
La última parte así como se espera de esta película está lleno de acción, notaremos un desbalance en el equilibrio en un punto de la película e indudablemente lo notaremos, también se supondrá el final esta batalla teniendo en cuenta los argumentos que mencioné algunos párrafos atrás.
Calificación
8.0 ⭐️
Es una calificación que podría ser alta para esta producción debido a que tal vez faltó un poco más en cuanto a la historia y el desenvolvimiento de la trama, sin embargo, el sentimiento sobre estos dos iconos del cine suponen ese extra en la puntuación.
Aspectos Relevantes de la Película
Efectos Visuales
Este es el punto más relevante de la película, decir que son magníficos es algo subjetivo, me parece que se realiza un excelente trabajo en cuanto a todo el trabajo técnico para los efectos especiales y la calidad de las imágenes siempre con un juego de cámaras impactante. Sin dudas es este es el punto a favor más importante y lo más llamativo de la película, desde el tráiler veíamos buenas escenas y la película no decepciona en cuanto a buenos efectos y mucha acción entre los titanes.
Historia
La historia por otro lado no me pareció la mejor, sin embargo, logra reunir de una manera concreta a ambos titanes iconos del cine y la cultura, además, esta historia hace quedar bien a ambos y esto es algo que se esperaba desde el principio. Me parece que esta trama está desarrollado sobre un argumento que se introdujo a esta película de manera obligatoria para que ambos titanes queden bien parados.
Opinión Final
Pienso que la película cumple con las expectativas en cuanto a efectos visuales y lucha entre estos titanes, la posibilidad de ver buena acción nos hace estar pegados a la pantalla de principio a fin y esto es bastante positivo. En lo particular me parece que a la trama le faltó algo diferente y sorpresivo dentro de la película, si conocemos a los titanes y prestamos atención creo que se convierte en una historia totalmente predecible hasta cierto punto o al menos dentro de los aspectos más relevantes de la historia.
Desde mi punto de vista la película cumple y quedo satisfecho con lo que vi en esta oportunidad, para ser completamente sincero pensaba que sería una mala película debido a que pienso que cuando una película es tan comercial hace que se distorsionen muchos aspectos sobre todo en la historia que nos cuenta, pero me parece una buena producción sin dudas.
¿La Recomiendo?
Por supuesto, todo lo que significa Kong y Godzilla para el cine y la cultura no se debe pasar por alto, es por esa razón que se convierte es esas producciones que debemos ver, sin embargo, para entender un poco mejor la trama tal vez sea necesario ver las películas anteriores, sin embargo, en este mismo post he dejado una base sólida para entenderla por completo o al menos una buena parte si aún no se ha visto ninguna de las producciones de este universo cinematográfico.

I have been interested in this movie for some time now, however, very recently I decided to reload the HBO MAX account to catch up with several of the productions that we can enjoy in that Streaming, I have missed several releases but it is time to catch up with many good movies or at least I hope they are good and entertaining to share analysis and opinions with the whole community.
Godzilla vs. Kong
This is a movie with a duration of just under two hours and was released in March 2021, it is a production that we can catalog it in the genre of science fiction and that presents us with an encounter that can define the history of the entire planet. In early March I wrote about the context and the different films of each of these monsters as well as a small analysis of their evolution on the big screen.
As I mentioned earlier, this film brings together two well-known titans in the film industry, and the mere mention of them coming face to face made theater seats shake and cash registers ring at the box office. The importance of this encounter could be said to transcend the world of movies and films, the encounter represents part of Western and Eastern culture. In my first post analyzing the production before release I mentioned that Godzilla is part of the ministry of tourism in Japan, so culture is implicit in the struggle of the two titans.
Movie Analysis
To analyze this production we must take into account that both titans have their own movies, so we will know basic aspects of the plot in those first productions, I think that to understand the plot at least we must know certain aspects of both monsters and most importantly the reason for their reactions that would mean an important piece to understand the plot of this film.
Plot
Humanity is shocked after an unexpected attack of Godzilla in the United States, in this situation humanity pays attention to the possibility of defending itself from the titans. The solution may lie in a top-secret project that searches for an almost unlimited source of power in the center of the earth where the titans are presumed to have originated.
To find this valuable source of power that could mean a momentous technological leap for mankind and above all for the glory of the APEX technology company it is necessary to have the help of another titan. Kong has a special bond with the little girl Jia, this is important to keep in mind in order to transport the giant ape, which is no match for the firepower of an entire fleet.
The main mystery of this movie is regarding Godzilla's attacks, in previous movies we have seen this titan placing himself in favor of humanity and the entire planet taking into account a balance of powers, so Godzilla would face any challenger of that balance that can endanger all life on the planet.
Kong on his part has his mission which is to find the prized source of power, however, as we all know this titan knows how to defend himself and this is certainly the most attractive of the film, that epic combat to find out who wins the battle between the two titans.
There Can Be Only One Alpha
This is an interesting aspect that we keep in mind especially at the time of these epic encounters, if we have seen the previous movies we will know how these titans fight, they fight to the end and never give up. The only way for the battle to end is by defeating their opponent either by killing him or by making him surrender and not pose a threat again.
In the film we are referred to the phrase "there can only be one alpha", that is to say, only one titan must rule over the others giving that point of balance and security to the planet. One of these titans must lose against the other to know who is the alpha or dominant titan, this can be translated into a magnificent fight between the two until the end.
Now, Godzilla only attacks what is a threat against his power and at the same time a threat against the whole world, why does he attack humans?
Did Godzilla Go Crazy?
No, Godzilla did not become insane and all his attacks are a response against the aforementioned balance of power, so it is up to the viewer to solve this enigma and discover the reason for Godzilla's behavior with respect to these attacks, which we know cause a lot of destruction and deaths, considering that with just one stomp in the right place he can leave hundreds of people as stickers.
Does Kong Represent An Enemy To That Balance Point?
Kong in the first instance does not represent a danger to that point of equilibrium unless it seeks to cause destruction in densely populated cities, if it caused any discomfort in Godzilla the latter could go quietly to visit him on Skull Island several years ago.

Who Wins the Battle?
If you were expecting this monumental spoiler, well I won't mention who wins, however, I can say that just like in boxing the contenders are going to have several rounds and matches. If we know these titans we will know where they have advantages or when they are at a great disadvantage, for example fighting in the open sea as shown in the bulk of the advertising in this film is a long advantage for Godzilla who spends much of his life in the depths, on the other hand in a dry land Kong's agility represents a virtue that can lead him to victory.
The End
The last part as expected of this film is full of action, we will notice an imbalance in the balance at one point of the film and undoubtedly we will notice it, also the end of this battle will be assumed taking into account the arguments that I mentioned a few paragraphs ago.

This is the most relevant point of the film, to say that they are magnificent is something subjective, it seems to me that an excellent job is done in terms of all the technical work for the special effects and the quality of the images always with an impressive camera game. Undoubtedly this is the most important point in favor and the most striking of the film, from the trailer we saw good scenes and the film does not disappoint in terms of good effects and lots of action between the titans.
Story
The story on the other hand did not seem to me the best, however, it manages to bring together in a concrete way both titans icons of cinema and culture, in addition, this story makes both look good and this is something that was expected from the beginning. It seems to me that this plot is developed on a plot that was introduced to this film in a mandatory way so that both titans look good.
Final Opinion
I think the movie meets the expectations in terms of visual effects and fight between these titans, the possibility of seeing good action makes us be glued to the screen from beginning to end and this is quite positive. In particular I think the plot lacked something different and surprising in the film, if we know the titans and pay attention I think it becomes a totally predictable story to some extent or at least within the most relevant aspects of the story.
From my point of view the film complies and I am satisfied with what I saw in this opportunity, to be completely honest I thought it would be a bad movie because I think that when a film is so commercial it distorts many aspects especially in the story that tells us, but I think it is a good production without a doubt.
Do I recommend it?
Of course, everything that Kong and Godzilla means for cinema and culture should not be overlooked, it is for that reason that it becomes those productions that we must see, however, to understand the plot a little better it may be necessary to see the previous films, however, in this same post I have left a solid foundation to understand it completely or at least a good part if you have not yet seen any of the productions of this cinematic universe.
