Hola Hivers amantes de las películas y series, un placer escribir nuevamente para todos ustedes. Hace muy poco pregunté por el Discord de esta comunidad sobre algunas películas para ver y analizar, específicamente para verlas en Netflix. Unos hivers conocedores me recomendaron una serie de películas para que posteriormente mostrara mi opinión al respecto, entre esas películas estaba Oxigeno, una buena idea haber preguntado y ahora les mostraré mi opinión al respecto y le otorgaré una calificación según mi gusto personal.
Esta es una película francesa lanzada este año 2021, específicamente el 21 de mayo. Está dirigida por director francés Alexandre Aja, un director que recuerdo por películas como The Hills Have Eyes del 2006 con argumentos de terror nuevo para el cine. Oxigeno por otro lado se aleja del género de terror oscuro y sangriento para entrar en un terror más psicológico y centrado en una historia que si bien puede parecer simple puede generar distintas emociones al espectador.
Sinopsis:
Elizabeth Hansen despierta en una capsula criogénica con una falla en el sistema, el preciado oxigeno se agota con cada respiración de Elizabeth, el problema se agrava debido a que no recuerda nada de su pasado por lo cual debe luchar para mantener la calma, preservar el oxígeno y al mismo tiempo luchar contra el reloj para sobrevivir a una muerte por asfixia. Lo único que posee a su alcance es la utilización de un asistente medico digital llamado M.I.L.O para recuperar la memoria antes de que no pueda volver a respirar.
Soy Claustrofóbico
Sin duda debo nombrar que soy claustrofóbico, esto evidentemente supone que yo pueda ver y sentir la película de manera distinta a otras personas. La verdad odio estar en espacios cerrados, aunque haya oxigeno suficiente (no como en la película) cuando paso por una situación de “encierro” en un espacio reducido siento que me falta el aire y me comienzo a desesperar por buscar respirar mejor. Definitivamente es un aspecto relevante para apreciar este tipo de películas que generan ansiedad debida que la historia se basa en un espacio muy limitado con la posibilidad de quedarse sin oxígeno.
No sé si solo me pasó a mí pero los primeros minutos si sentí esa desesperación trasmitida por la protagonista, empezando por las primeras escenas que lucha por una bocanada de aire, luego al transcurrir los minutos sentía la desesperación de estar encerrado, por supuesto que en menor nivel que en la vida real pero es algo que me parece aplaudible de la película sobre todo en comenzado, trasmitir la esa emoción o desesperación del personaje hacia fuera de la pantalla creo que ese aspecto en lo particular me ha gustado, probablemente al ser claustrofóbico siento más esa desesperación que otras personas pero siento que la película trasmite bien ese sentimiento donde la actuación y los juegos de cámara son importantes. Resaltando que podemos ver el sudor de Elizabeth y su rostro de desesperación por no poder salir de esa capsula, sin embargo, al transcurrir los minutos ya el espectador se comienza a adaptar con la trama y esa ansiedad se va desvaneciendo poco a poco.
Actuación de Mélanie Laurent
En lo particular me encanta esta actriz francesa, la recuerdo muy bien en una de mis películas favoritas llamada Inglourious Basterds ¿la recuerdan?, una película en la cual Mélanie realiza un trabajo excepcional por lo cual la hace merecedora de distintos premios por su actuación. Desde ese momento supe del potencial de esta actriz y en la película Oxigeno pienso que realiza un muy buen trabajo, tal vez no se podría considerar su mejor actuación, sin embargo, creo que se adapta muy bien a la trama y lo que más me gustó fue como trasmitía las emociones de desespero que salían de la pantalla. No podemos negar que fue un buen trabajo para esta actriz, además, debemos tener en cuenta lo difícil que resulta esta trama específica para realizar un trabajo de actuación por lo cual veo un muy bien trabajo por parte de Mélanie, nada que recriminarle.
Sobre la Película:
Sin duda es una película que la puedo catalogar como Trhiller dentro del género de ficción debido a que las emociones juegan un papel importante dentro de un desarrollo de suspenso. A mi parecer la historia que nos cuenta o que vamos conociendo al transcurrir los minutos de esta producción es interesante, creo que el unir las piezas o como la protagonista va conociendo la verdadera situación es algo que en lo particular me llama la atención desde el principio.
La trama es interesante, además, hay varios giros en la historia y “sorpresas” que nos llevamos los espectadores, sin embargo, pienso que la película se vuelve en cierto punto algo predecible, no sé si es por la cantidad de películas que he visto pero me resultó fácil realizar el armado de las piezas de la trama antes de llegar a un punto donde la explicación generalizada hacia entender al espectador sobre todo lo ocurrido dentro y fuera de la cámara criogénica.
Es aplaudible una producción que se base en limitados escenarios para armar una historia, a pesar de que en esta película observamos dos líneas de tiempo, presente y pasado debido a que viajamos por los recuerdos de Elizabeth, la trama principal se desarrolla en ese pequeño espacio de la cámara criogénica donde la protagonista ni siquiera se puede sentar debido, a diferencia de películas como Gravity donde al menos se contaba con más “espacio” donde desarrollar la historia.

Desde mi percepción personal y única le doy esta calificación debido a los siguientes aspectos
👍 Emociones Trasmitidas:
Creo que la película si trasmite emociones, sobre todo en los primeros minutos. Posiblemente mi condición de que me desesperan los espacios cerrados pueda afectar notablemente esta apreciación.
👍 Buena Actuación:
La actuación es relevante para este tipo de películas así que lo veo como un punto a favor para esta producción.
👎 Predecible en Cierto Punto:
Creo que a pesar de los giros de la trama se torna algo predecible, por lo cual es un punto negativo, sin embargo, pienso que la película hace mantener la atención hasta el final.
Opinión Final
Es una película que recomiendo para los amantes del suspenso, si agregamos el atractivo de estar completamente encerrados en este tipo capsula notaremos que puede hacer que inhalemos profundamente y agradezcamos el aire que respiramos o al menos es me pasó a mí. Creo que es interesante todo el tema alrededor de la película y en lo particular la disfruté, la recomiendo.
Quise hacer un post corto en comparación a otras reseñas y análisis para evitar decir mucho sobre la película para animarlos a verla y que muestren su percepción particular sobre la trama y desarrollo de esta película. Es un honor escribir para todos los amantes de las películas dentro y fuera de Hive.

Hello Hivers movie and series lovers, a pleasure to write again for all of you. Very recently I asked on the Discord of this community about some movies to watch and analyze, specifically to watch them on Netflix. Some knowledgeable hivers recommended me a series of movies for me to later show my opinion about it, among those movies was Oxygen, a good idea to have asked and now I will show you my opinion about it and give it a rating according to my personal taste.
This is a French movie released this year 2021, specifically on May 21. It is directed by French director Alexandre Aja, a director I remember for films like 2006's The Hills Have Eyes with horror plots new to cinema. Oxygen on the other hand moves away from the genre of dark and gory horror to enter a more psychological horror and focused on a story that although it may seem simple can generate different emotions to the viewer.
Synopsis:
Elizabeth Hansen wakes up in a cryogenic capsule with a system failure, the precious oxygen is depleted with every breath Elizabeth takes, the problem is compounded by the fact that she remembers nothing of her past so she must struggle to remain calm, preserve oxygen and at the same time fight against the clock to survive death by asphyxiation. The only thing he has at his disposal is the use of a digital medical assistant called M.I.L.O. to recover his memory before he can no longer breathe.
I am Claustrophobic
Without a doubt I must name that I am claustrophobic, this obviously means that I can see and feel the movie differently than other people. The truth is that I hate being in closed spaces, even if there is enough oxygen (not like in the movie) when I go through a situation of "confinement" in a small space I feel that I lack air and I start to despair to try to breathe better. It is definitely a relevant aspect to appreciate this kind of films that generate anxiety because the story is based on a very limited space with the possibility of running out of oxygen.
I don't know if it only happened to me but the first few minutes I did feel that desperation transmitted by the protagonist, starting with the first scenes where she struggles for a breath of air, then as the minutes passed I felt the desperation of being locked up, of course at a lower level than in real life but it is something that I find applaudable in the film, especially in the beginning, I think that this aspect in particular I liked, probably being claustrophobic I feel more that desperation than other people but I feel that the film conveys that feeling well where the acting and camera games are important. We can see Elizabeth's sweat and her face of desperation for not being able to get out of that capsule, however, as the minutes go by the viewer begins to adapt to the plot and that anxiety gradually fades.
Mélanie Laurent's Performance
I particularly love this French actress, I remember her very well in one of my favorite movies called Inglourious Basterds, a film in which Mélanie does an exceptional job which makes her deserving of several awards for her performance. From that moment I knew of the potential of this actress and in the movie Oxygen I think she does a very good job, maybe it could not be considered her best performance, however, I think she adapts very well to the plot and what I liked the most was how she transmitted the emotions of desperation that came out of the screen. We can't deny that it was a good job for this actress, besides, we must take into account how difficult this specific plot is to perform an acting job so I see a very good job by Mélanie, nothing to recriminate her.
About the Film:
Undoubtedly it is a film that I can classify as a Trhiller within the fiction genre because the emotions play an important role in a suspenseful development. In my opinion the story that tells us or that we get to know as the minutes of this production go by is interesting, I think that putting the pieces together or how the protagonist gets to know the real situation is something that particularly catches my attention from the beginning.
The plot is interesting, in addition, there are several twists in the story and "surprises" that we the viewers get, however, I think the film becomes somewhat predictable at some point, I do not know if it is because of the number of films I've seen but I found it easy to make the assembly of the pieces of the plot before reaching a point where the generalized explanation to understand the viewer about everything that happened inside and outside the cryogenic chamber.
It is applaudable a production that relies on limited scenarios to put together a story, even though in this film we observe two timelines, present and past because we travel through Elizabeth's memories, the main plot unfolds in that small space of the cryogenic chamber where the protagonist can't even sit due, unlike films like Gravity where at least there was more "space" where to develop the story.

👍 Emotions Conveyed:
I think the film does convey emotions, especially in the first few minutes. Possibly my condition of being desperate for enclosed spaces may affect this appreciation.
👍 Good Acting
Acting is relevant for this type of film so I see it as a plus for this production.
👎 Predictable to a Point
I think that despite the plot twists it becomes somewhat predictable, which is a negative point, however, I think the film keeps your attention until the end.
Final Opinion
It is a movie that I recommend for suspense lovers, if we add the attraction of being completely enclosed in this type of capsule we will notice that it can make us inhale deeply and be grateful for the air we breathe or at least it happened to me. I think it is interesting the whole theme around the film and I particularly enjoyed it, I recommend it.
I wanted to make a short post in comparison to other reviews and analysis to avoid saying too much about the movie to encourage you to see it and to show your particular perception about the plot and development of this movie. It is an honor to write for all movie lovers inside and outside Hive.
