Hola cinéfilos, hoy quiero comentarles sobre una película bastante comercial, otra tarde con amigos donde no sabíamos que película ver, decidimos observar Escape Room 2: Mueres por salir. Anteriormente habíamos visto la primera película en el cine, sin embargo, le teníamos muy poca fe a este film, por lo cual decidimos verla a través de HBO MAX, evidentemente mucho después de su estreno en las salas de cine, ahora que está disponible en ese servicio de streaming le comentaré mi opinión personal sobre esta película.
Esta película se estrenó a mediados del año 2021, sin embargo, ahora está disponible en HBO Max. En mi caso particular la primera película me resulto entretenida a duras penas, pero sin una trama realmente envolvente, lo que más atrae de este tipo de películas es ver de que manera va a morir o a sufrir los personajes dentro de la trama, un efecto parecido a lo que nos muestran producciones como Destino Final, la muerte mostrada de manera creativa es la verdadera protagonista de estas producciones y lo que realmente hace llamar la atención.
A pesar de que desde mi óptica estas películas no se comparan con otras producciones llenas de muertes, la recaudación de las productoras siempre es un dato a tener en cuenta para la continuación de las historias en el cine. La primera película de Escape Room, estrenada en el 2019, con tan solo 9 millones de dólares de presupuesto recauda más de 150 millones. Creo que es evidente que las productoras quisieran expandir este universo cinematográfico para exprimirlo al máximo. Como lo sabemos muchos fanáticos del séptimo arte, el dinero y la recaudación de estas películas son la guía principal para seguir haciendo este tipo de historias.
A pesar de que esta segunda película recauda mucho menos (50 millones) igualmente multiplican tres veces el presupuesto, algo que puede significar una tercera película para los próximos años, además, se observa esa puerta abierta a una secuela en el final de esta producción.

Zoey junto a otras 5 personas son prisioneras del mismos juego mortal que anteriormente les toco sobrevivir, ahora los otros jugadores corresponden a otros juegos realizados anteriormente, donde cada campeón luchará nuevamente por su vida en un juego de vida o muerte donde la astucia y la inteligencia son determinantes para seguir respirando.
Análisis de la Película

Es evidente que comenzamos justo donde termina la película anterior, siguiendo una línea de tiempo en la cual el objetivo principal es exponer ante las autoridades esta organización que ha propinado muerte y sufrimiento a muchas personas por el solo hecho de entretener a gente poderosa. A pesar de que este aspecto pueda tornar la trama a un tono mas detectivesco, el centro de la película es el juego, el cual podemos ver por primera vez algunos de los artífices que diseñan y desarrolla este juego mortal.
Muertes
No voy a decir quien muere o quien sobrevive, sin embargo, es obvio que personas deben morir, después de todo para eso es que estamos viendo esta película (no lo nieguen), 6 personas es un grupo pequeño, así como en la película anterior y a mi parecer cada muerte debe ser significativa o impactante, aquí es donde me parece que falla un poco la película siendo poco creativa para organizar el escenario o las condiciones en las cuales las personas deberán superar el juego o morir en el intento. Desde mi opinión personal creo que las muertes que observamos son algo absurdas dentro de las situaciones de las habitaciones.
¿Sangre?
A pesar de una temática encaminada a una muerte horrible y explicita, no hay muchas escenas de sangre, heridas abiertas o una violencia que impacte, eso nos hace inferir que es una producción que, así como muchas tratan de incluir un público amplio, siempre tener más ojos viendo la película generará más ganancias. Es una tonalidad similar a la primera película, pero puedo notar que la violencia disminuye en cierto grado en este film.
Juegos Complicados
Algo que pudimos concordar en ese pequeño grupo que estábamos viendo la película, es que no cualquier persona pudiera pensar tan rápido y tan eficientemente en un momento de alto estrés y tal presión donde la vida corre peligro, por supuesto con un tiempo muy limitado. Los acertijos los resolvían muy rápidamente y con una certeza absoluta, confieso que muchas personas y yo me incluyo no duraríamos mucho dentro de estas habitaciones. A mi parecer esta dinámica donde se revelaba la salida de las habitaciones, los personajes lo lograban a tal punto que se aleja de la realidad, casi como si estuvieran disfrutando lo que están haciendo.
Actuación y Personajes
Las actuaciones son apenas decentes, los personajes no son muy buenos y no me parecen muy significativos en la historia, sin dudas vimos mejores personajes en la precuela que llegaron a ser muy buenos y con los cuales sentíamos un poco más de afinidad, en esta oportunidad los personajes no son de los puntos fuertes de la película.

La película cumple en su aspecto más importante, entretener de principio a fin, a pesar de un argumento que para mi no está muy bien estructurado desde el punto de vista narrativo, creo que la película mantiene al espectador con la incertidumbre de lo que vendrá en la siguiente habitación y si los personajes logran sobrevivir, pero más allá de estos aspectos guiados por la muerte no es una película que sobresalga de otras.
De este tipo de películas donde de cierta manera se juega con la muerte, me parece que no se puede comparar con producciones como la legendaria saga de Saw o Destino Final, en lo particular, desde que vi la primera película esperaba ver algo más tenebroso como en Saw pero evidentemente la productora amplia el compas para obtener mayor publico y esta oscuridad no tendría lugar. Ese sentimiento de esperar más de estas películas afecta directamente a la puntuación que le coloco a esta película.
A pesar de todo, es innegable que es una película que se puede ver tranquilamente para pasar un rato frente a la pantalla por casi hora y media para tener un momento de desconexión. La película evidentemente falla en distintos aspectos, pero al final de cuentas logra entretener.
¿Cuál Película es Mejor 1 o 2?
A mi parecer la primera película tiene un poco más de entretenimiento, además, creo que posee un poco más de creatividad en cuanto a las habitaciones y personajes más significativos.
¿La Recomiendo?
Es una película recomendable para un publico generalizado, pero con la advertencia de que no tengan unas expectativas muy altas del film, de la trama y tampoco en cuanto al terror que pudiera otorgar, sin embargo, así como lo he resaltado varias veces, que a pesar de los fallos si logra entretener a expensas de la incertidumbre y los efectos visuales desde mi punto vista.

We had previously seen the first movie in the theater, however, we had very little faith in this film, so we decided to watch it through HBO MAX, evidently long after its theatrical release, now that it is available on that streaming service I will tell you my personal opinion about this movie.

In my particular case, the first movie was barely entertaining, but without a really involving plot, what attracts most of this kind of movies is to see how the characters will die or suffer within the plot, an effect similar to what productions like Final Destination show us, death shown in a creative way is the real protagonist of these productions and what really draws attention.
Although from my point of view these films do not compare with other productions full of death, the revenue of the production companies is always a fact to take into account for the continuation of the stories in the cinema. The first Escape Room movie, released in 2019, with only $9 million budget grosses over $150 million. I am not going to say who dies or who survives, however, it is obvious that people must die, after all that is what we are watching this movie for (don't deny it), 6 people is a small group, just like in the previous movie and in my opinion each death must be significant or shocking, this is where I think the movie fails a little bit being not very creative to organize the scenario or the conditions in which people must overcome the game or die trying. From my personal opinion I think the deaths we see are somewhat absurd within the situations of the rooms.
Blood?
Despite a theme aimed at gruesome and explicit death, there are not many scenes of blood, open wounds or shocking violence, that makes us infer that it is a production that, as well as many try to include a wide audience, always having more eyes watching the film will generate more profit. It's a similar tonality to the first film, but I can notice that the violence diminishes to some degree in this film.
Complicated Games
One thing we could agree in that small group that was watching the film, is that not just anyone could think so fast and so efficiently in a time of high stress and such pressure where life is in danger, of course with very limited time. The riddles were solved very quickly and with absolute certainty, I confess that many people, myself included, would not last long in these rooms. In my opinion, this dynamic where the exit of the rooms was revealed, the characters succeeded to such an extent that it is far from reality, almost as if they were enjoying what they were doing.

The performances are barely decent, the characters are not very good and do not seem to me very significant in the story, no doubt we saw better characters in the prequel that became very good and with which we felt a little more affinity, this time the characters are not the strong points of the film.

The film fulfills in its most important aspect, entertain from beginning to end, despite a plot that for me is not very well structured from the narrative point of view, I think the film keeps the viewer with the uncertainty of what will come in the next room and if the characters manage to survive, but beyond these aspects guided by death is not a film that stands out from others.
Of this type of films where in a certain way death is played with, it seems to me that it cannot be compared with productions like the legendary Saw saga or Final Destination, in particular, since I saw the first film I expected to see something darker as in Saw but evidently the producer broadens the compass to obtain a larger audience and this darkness would not take place.
