Hola cinéfilos, luego de ver una de las películas más esperadas del año y de llevarme ciertas decepciones (Matrix4), debo decir que la ciencia ficción me agrada y en esta publicación les quiero comentar sobre otra película que podemos incluir en el género anteriormente mencionado en combinación con otros. Es Free Guy y comienzo este post diciendo que me ha gustado más esta película que Matrix 4.
Esta película estadounidense es estrenada a mediados de este año 2021, una producción con una mezcla bastante interesante donde observamos de acción, aventuras, comedia y ciencia ficción, todo dentro de una historia interesante sobre videojuegos, otra de mis pasiones.
Cuando se estrenó está película pensaba que para mí región iba a estar disponible en Disney+, sin embargo, no fue así. Deje pasar esta película por mucho tiempo y la he encontrado en otro servicio de streaming que también se encuentra disponible en mí región, se llama Star+. Un servicio de streaming que necesitaba para ver deportes desde mi computadora, pero que también ofrece varias series y películas que no se encuentran en el servicio de Disney, al menos en mi región.
Sinopsis:
Guy es un hombre que ama la rutina, tomar su café e ir a trabajar en el banco resume todo su tiempo, sin embargo, descubre que es un personaje secundario de un videojuego, esta nueva verdad cambiará su perspectiva de la realidad al mismo tiempo que intentará salvar a sus semejantes.
Análisis de la película
Adoro los videojuegos, no puedo comenzar a analizar está película si demostrar mi pasión y que hace que desde mi punto de vista esta historia ya obtenga un punto a favor. Esta película sin dudas trata de abarcar a un público que cada vez es más grande, la cultura Gaming se expande y muchos se pueden sentir identificados con este tipo de películas.
¿Se Parece a Algún Videojuego que han Jugado?
Creo que la historia de esta película nos hace recordar varios videojuegos que hemos jugado desde hace años, en lo particular me fue imposible no pensar en la saga Grand Theft Auto.
Muchos de los usuarios de esta plataforma habrán jugado o al menos visto estos videojuegos, caracterizados por su libertad de movimiento en el cual podíamos golpear o dispararle a algún NPC o Non Playable Character, esos personajes que perseguimos, disparábamos e incluso robamos por mera diversión. En mi caso podía pasar horas disparándole a todos los NPC de cualquier versión de la saga, empezando por Vice City y San Andreas. Al igual que yo muchos habrán invertido gran tiempo en causar muchos desastres en la ciudad y de épicos enfrentamiento con los policías. Ir con una ametralladora disparando como un desquiciado es quizás una de las experiencias en común que tenemos muchos de nosotros sobre estos videojuegos, la película está inmersa en este escenario otorgándole importancia a esos personajes que no son jugadores que sufren todo tipo de atrocidades (lo siento).
Percepción de la Realidad
En el primer párrafo de este post he mencionado una de las películas que por excelencia nos hace pensar sobre nuestra percepción de la realidad. A diferencia de la Matrix donde las personas se introducen en una fantasía creada por programas de computadoras, esta historia se basa en un personaje que no sabe que su vida es un bucle sin fin dentro de un videojuego, dependiendo de lo que hagan o dejen de hacer los jugadores reales en su entorno.
Aunque la percepción de la realidad no es el centro de esta película, de cierto modo nos hace pensar por algunos segundos si nuestra vida es controlada por algún factor externo o quizás una persona jugando a los videojuegos como los Sims y para nosotros este mundo sea “normal”.
Mezcla de Géneros
Introducir varios géneros puede ser difícil al momento de darle sentido a la historia, la ventaja que posee está narrativa es que se basa en un videojuego lo cual le permite hacer volar la imaginación tomando como referencia videojuegos que ya existen, pero que al mismo tiempo le permite al guion exagerar en cuanto a la fantasía. Esta es una historia que contiene de todo, incluso el romance se hace notar en un segmento de la producción. A pesar de todo esto, la historia es atractiva y capta la atención de principio a fin, incluso puede incluir un cameo bastante interesante en una escena.
Me parece que la historia es interesante y su ejecución es buena a pesar de la complejidad que amerita unir tantas características de diversos géneros en una sola y alocada película, sin embargo, la facilidad para adaptar el guion se establece en que el grueso de la trama es dentro del videojuego.
Actuación
El trabajo de Ryan Reynolds es muy bueno, dándonos un personaje interesante y adaptado de buena manera a la historia, creo que este actor era el indicado por su manera de actuar para este papel, caracterizado por otorgar algo de comedia, pero también funcional en historias con acción.
Efectos visuales
La película se introduce en un videojuego, por lo cual los efectos visuales son muy importantes para complementar la historia y darnos una buena producción. Estos efectos especiales se realizan de buena manera, aunque tampoco se tornan exagerados teniendo en cuenta la complejidad de la historia.
En otras películas donde se hace referencia a los videojuegos los efectos especiales tienden a ser exagerados o mal ejecutados hasta cierto punto, esta película cumple con mostrar efectos visuales adecuados para una historia alocada llena de fantasía, pero sin abusar de ellos.
Comedia / Acción y Aventuras:
Dentro de estos dos géneros a mi parecer la película cuenta con más características del género de acción y aventuras, a pesar de que, si hay comedia y por momentos podemos reír, la aventura es lo mas significativo y emocionante de esta película, teniendo un ritmo que va acelerando al pasar los minutos otorgándonos buenas emociones que se trasmiten desde la pantalla al espectador.

Opinión Final
Esta es una buena película, logra captar y mantener la atención además de trasmitir emociones, esto me agrada en las películas. La producción apunta a un segmento bastante grande de público, pero creo que llega de buena manera a todos, desde los jóvenes hasta los adultos, sobre todo los que somos apasionados por los videojuegos y conocemos lo que es dispararle a un NPC. La propuesta es acertada y la actuación logra crear simpatía por los personajes, puedo decir que esta película supera las expectativas que poseía.
¿La Recomiendo?
Si, vale la pena verla ya que es buen entretenimiento, se puede ver en familia o amigos ya que la película permite abarcar a gran parte del publico en una interesante y divertida historia. En definitiva, no me parece tiempo perdido, todo lo contrario, es una muy buena película a tener en cuenta.

It is Free Guy and I start this post saying that I liked this movie more than Matrix 4.
This American movie is released in the middle of this year 2021, a production with a very interesting mix where we see action, adventure, comedy and science fiction, all within an interesting story about video games, another of my passions.
When this movie was released I thought it was going to be available in my region on Disney+, however, it was not. I let this movie pass by for a long time and I found it on another streaming service that is also available in my region, it's called Star+. A streaming service that I needed to watch sports from my computer, but also offers several series and movies that are not on Disney's service, at least in my region.
Synopsis:
Guy is a man who loves routine, drinking his coffee and going to work at the bank sums up all his time, however, he discovers that he is a secondary character in a video game, this new truth will change his perspective of reality at the same time he will try to save his fellow man.
Analysis of the movie
I love video games, I can't begin to analyze this movie without showing my passion and that makes that from my point of view this story already gets a point in favor. This movie undoubtedly tries to reach an audience that is getting bigger and bigger, the Gaming culture is expanding and many can identify with this kind of movies.
Does it look like any video game you have played?
I think the story of this movie reminds us of several video games that we have played for years, in particular it was impossible for me not to think of the Grand Theft Auto saga.
Many of the users of this platform will have played or at least seen these video games, characterized by their freedom of movement in which we could hit or shoot some NPC or Non Playable Character, those characters that we chased, shot and even stole just for fun. In my case I could spend hours shooting all the NPCs of any version of the saga, starting with Vice City and San Andreas. Like me many will have invested a lot of time in causing many disasters in the city and epic confrontations with the cops. Going around with a machine gun shooting like a madman is perhaps one of the common experiences that many of us have about these video games, the movie is immersed in this scenario giving importance to those characters who are not gamers who suffer all kinds of atrocities (sorry).

In the first paragraph of this post I mentioned one of the movies that par excellence makes us think about our perception of reality. Unlike the Matrix where people are introduced into a fantasy created by computer programs, this story is based on a character who doesn't know that his life is an endless loop inside a video game, depending on what the real players in his environment do or don't do.
Although the perception of reality is not the focus of this movie, in a way it makes us think for a few seconds if our life is controlled by some external factor or maybe a person playing video games like the Sims and for us this world is "normal".

Introducing several genres can be difficult when making sense of the story, the advantage of this narrative is that it is based on a video game which allows you to let your imagination fly by taking as a reference video games that already exist, but at the same time allows the script to exaggerate in terms of fantasy. This is a story that contains everything, even the romance is noticeable in a segment of the production. Despite all this, the story is engaging and captures the attention from beginning to end, even being able to include a rather interesting cameo in one scene.
I find the story interesting and its execution good despite the complexity that merits uniting so many features from various genres into one crazy movie, however, the ease of adapting the script is set up in that the bulk of the plot is within the video game.
Acting
The work of Ryan Reynolds is very good, giving us an interesting character and adapted in a good way to the story, I think this actor was the right one for his way of acting for this role, characterized by giving some comedy, but also functional in stories with action.
Visual effects
The film is set in a video game, so the visual effects are very important to complement the story and give us a good production. These special effects are done in a good way, although they are not exaggerated considering the complexity of the story.
In other movies where video games are referenced the special effects tend to be exaggerated or poorly executed to a certain extent, this movie complies with showing adequate visual effects for a crazy story full of fantasy, but without abusing them.
Comedy / Action and Adventures:
Within these two genres in my opinion the film has more characteristics of the action and adventure genre, although, yes there is comedy and at times we can laugh, the adventure is the most significant and exciting of this film, having a pace that is accelerating as the minutes pass granting us good emotions that are transmitted from the screen to the viewer.

This is a good movie, it manages to capture and keep the attention as well as transmitting emotions, I like this in movies. The production aims at a fairly large segment of the audience, but I think it reaches everyone in a good way, from young people to adults, especially those who are passionate about video games and know what it's like to shoot an NPC. The proposal is successful and the acting manages to create sympathy for the characters, I can say that this film exceeds the expectations I had.
Do I recommend it?
Yes, it is worth watching it because it is good entertainment, you can watch it with family or friends because the film allows to cover a large part of the audience in an interesting and funny story. In short, I don't think it's a waste of time, on the contrary, it's a very good movie to keep in mind.
