Hola Hivers amantes de las películas y series, en esta oportunidad quiero realizar una pequeña reseña sobre una película que podemos disfrutar en la plataforma de Netflix. Una película del 2020 dentro del género de comedia podríamos decir comedia negra, además, de un poco de suspenso, en esta oportunidad quiero comentarles sobre I Care a Lot o Descuida Yo Te Cuido como es conocida en Latinoamérica.
Esta es una producción que cuenta con un reparto bastante interesante con nombres como Rosamund Pike, Chris Messina, Peter Dinklage, Eiza González y Dianne Wiest protagonizan la película, resaltando la actuación de Rosamund Pike que por su actuación se consagro como mejor actriz en la categoría de mejor comedia en los Globos de Oro.
Sinopsis:
Marla Grayson es una cuidadora la cual un juez de lo familiar le asigna a los ancianos vulnerables para sus cuidados, sin embargo, Marla realiza oscuras transacciones con los bienes de sus protegidos vendiendo sus propiedades y cobrando un gran sueldo. Todo cambia con su nuevo objetivo. Jennifer Peterson parece una joya entre otras posibles víctimas lo que no sabe Marla que pudo meterse con la persona equivocada.
Atención, en el siguiente segmento realizaré un pequeño resumen de la película, analizando aspectos que me llamaron la atención, al final de este post les dejaré como es de costumbre mi opinión personal y le otorgaré a la película una puntuación o calificación según mis gustos. Debo advertir que habrá algunos spoilers sobre la película I Care a Lot.
Resumen
Marla Grayson es una mujer exitosa, se describe a sí misma como una leona en un mundo hostil donde sobrevive el más fuerte o el las apto, resignarse a comer o ser comido en el mundo empresarial, ella decide cazar y comer. Su negocio se basa en conseguir ancianos que tengan dinero y con ayuda de su amiga en una casa de retiro le realiza unas indicaciones médicas falsas en la cual sus víctimas en este caso los ancianos necesitan de mayores cuidados de lo que sus hijos o familiares puedan ofrecerle.
Marla los lleva a una casa de retiro a que vivan sus últimos días allí, no sin antes subastar y vender todos sus bienes. El gobierno le otorga el poder legal, una tutoría sobre estos ancianos sin importar si tienen familiares o no. Marla vende inmediatamente todas las posesiones de sus víctimas hasta que mueren y comienza nuevamente el ciclo.
La primera escena de la película es importante debido que afecta el final de la producción, el hijo de una de sus “protegidas” exige verla, argumenta ante el juez que Marla lo ha separado de su anciana madre no sin antes vender sus posiciones. Marla por otro lado manipula perfectamente al juez alegando que muchos de los hijos prefieren dejar que sus padres mueran de hambre antes que vender una parte de su herencia para costear los debidos gastos de su cuidado, una jugada magnifica lo que le concede el fallo a su favor.
Su empresa es prospera, cuida de que cada víctima no muera antes de exprimir todo su bolsillo debido que al morir los derechos de todos los bienes pasan a ser de posesión de los hijos o según el testamento, Marla tiene que hacerles vivir algunos años para poder obtener buenas ganancias, sin embargo, la ambición de Marla no tiene límites así que sigue buscando nuevas víctimas con mucho dinero para ser su “cuidadora”.
Una doctora amiga le ofrece un trato beneficioso para ambas, muestra el expediente de una posible victima para Marla, se trata de Jennifer Peterson, una anciana con mucho dinero y que además no posee hijos, nadie quien reclame sus posesiones, vive sola y va a actividades como cualquier adulto mayor, al investigarla a fondo Marla acepta el trato y a cambio de una orden medica manipulada, junto a su declaración ante el juez su amiga recibirá una acciones como compensación.
El juez acepta sin dudar confiando en la buena voluntad de Marla la cual va directamente a la casa de Jennifer para notificarle sobre la decisión del juez y llevarla a su nuevo hogar, una casa de retiro en la cual Marla tiene todo el control. A pesar de la inquietud de la anciana Marla logra su cometido e inmediatamente hace un avalúo de sus posiciones dentro de la casa para subastar todos sus bienes.
Donde empezamos a sospechar es cuando llega un taxi a la casa de Jennifer, el taxista se ve sumamente asustado por el hecho de que no está Jennifer en su casa, en la siguiente escena observamos a Roman Lunyov interpretado por Peter Dinklage y sabemos que Marla se equivocó de víctima. Roman es un mafioso ruso que pensaba que estaba muerto, sin embargo, hacia negocios con trata de blancas y de tráfico de drogas, decide actuar bajo perfil y buscar una mediación con Marla.
Su abogado interviene en el asunto y se reúne con Marla ofreciéndole un maletín lleno de dinero a cambio de la liberación inmediata de Jennifer, sin embargo, Marla no acepta suponiendo que su víctima vale más que eso.
Los secuaces de Roman intentan sacar a Jennifer por la fuerza de la casa de retiro, una operación frustrada por la misma Marla, sin embargo, Roman no dejaría las cosas así. Ordena el asesinato de aquella amiga de Marla la cual dio la orden médica falsa ante el juez para atemorizar a Marla, pero parece que nada funciona contra esta ambiciosa y muy decidida mujer.
Ante esta situación Roman secuestra a Marla y ordena que la desaparezcan con la típica frase de mafioso “que parezca un accidente”, sin embargo, Marla es un duro hueso de roer y sobrevive a duras penas, cuando llega a su casa su pareja y socia en su compañía está herida con la tubería de gas abierta lo que ocasiona una explosión luego de que justo se marcharan del lugar.
Ante esta situación Marla decide luchar para que no la saquen del negocio y se enfrenta a un violento grupo de la mafia rusa con inteligencia, logra recordar una de las matriculas de un vehículo de Roman el objetivo es rastrearlo y luego ubicar a Roman, se encuentran con la casa de su conductor, deciden seguirlo hasta el edificio donde trabaja Roman. Marla en un movimiento de astucia logra neutralizar al chofer y al guardaespaldas de Roman, además, le inyecta sedante al mafioso ruso.
Luego de dejarlo en un camino rural logran dar con su paradero y es enviado a un hospital, para su sorpresa cuando abre los ojos Roman se encuentra con la última persona que quería ver, Marla. Ella ahora sería su tutora debida alegando que el gobierno cuando encuentra un individuo sin parientes y totalmente desconocido para el sistema se le asigna un cuidador.
Para terminar con el tormento de Roman la que ahora es su tutora le propone que se le pague 10 millones de dólares por dejar de ser su cuidadora y también la de su madre, sin embargo, la trama hace un gran giro cuando Roman le propone una sociedad y realizar sus fechorías de manera más o menos legal. Marla acepta, es una mujer con una gran ambición y construyen un gigante corporativo de cuidados, farmacias, casas de retiro, clínicas, seguros ahora controlaría cada aspecto de millones de ancianos para sus cuidados y sobre todo para sacarles el dinero.
Fin de la Película
Cuando pensamos que se acababa la película y que Marla se saldría con la suya un viejo enemigo aparece, aquel hijo cuya madre estaba en cuidados de Marla había muerto, era el mismo personaje de la primera escena de la película. Su madre había fallecido y culpó a Marla, le propicia un disparo mortal a la protagonista por lo cual fallece.
Calificación

Opinión
Me parece una película entretenida para ver y disfrutar un momento agradable, en mi caso la vi con mi esposa y otra pareja amiga en donde básicamente llegamos a las mismas opiniones sobre esta producción.
Moralidad
Es curioso que de las 4 personas que estábamos viendo la película había un sentimiento de odio hacia Marla, es algo bastante curioso que preferíamos que ganara el mafioso ruso que Marla aunque la mafia evidentemente hacia cosas mucho peores que la protagonista, sin embargo, nuestro sentido de justicia se inclinaba porque los rusos le ganaran la partida a la aprovechadora de Marla. Imagino que sabemos lo malo que es la mafia, sin embargo, el sentido de falsedad de Marla ante la necesidad de los ancianos solo para quitarles sus posesiones hacían de este personaje algo detestable aún más que la mafia.
Empoderamiento
Es evidente que esta película refleja el empoderamiento y la verdad me agrada que las mujeres tomen más protagonismos y que sus personajes sean valientes y sumamente inteligentes, sin embargo, creo que explotar mucho este sentido puede quitarle algo de realidad a la película. Personaje de Marla me parece sobreexplotado, creo que la ambición debía tener un límite si se trataba de la mafia rusa, creo que simplemente sentido común, sin embargo, decide enfrentar a toda mafia por dinero y que los acabe tan fácilmente me parece algo que definitivamente le quita un poco de realismo a la película.
Los matones rusos simplemente eran inútiles, ninguna misión fue exitosa excepto el asesinato de la doctora amiga de Marla. Desarmó fácilmente a la mafia secuestrando a su líder en un movimiento sorprendente y con muy poca resistencia, algo que me pareció poco realista. En este punto todos en la sala frente a mi televisor nos miramos las caras como diciendo “se pasaron”.
El Final
A pesar de que Marla gana llega la escena final para de alguna manera equilibrar el sentido de justica en la película, Marla era una mala persona que robraba a los ancianos, personas indefensas además de ser ambiciosa y egoísta. Todos opinamos que el final pudo arreglar algo en cuanto a la justicia y haciendo que el rumbo final de la película tuviera un poco más de sentido.
Conclusión
Me parece entretenida esta película la trama es rápida y la historia me parece bastante interesante, sin embargo, los giros de la trama al final me parecen un poco al borde del límite del realismo y me hubiese gustado que la segunda mitad de la película fuese ido en otro sentido pero me parece una buena película para ver en familia, seguramente muchos odiaran a Marla y preferirán estar en el bando de Roman.

A 2020 movie within the comedy genre we could say black comedy, plus, a little suspense, this time I want to tell you about I Care a Lot or Descuida Yo Te Cuido as it is known in Latin America.
This is a production that has a quite interesting cast with names like Rosamund Pike, Chris Messina, Peter Dinklage, Eiza Gonzalez and Dianne Wiest starring in the film, highlighting the performance of Rosamund Pike who for her performance was consecrated as best actress in the category of best comedy at the Golden Globes.
Synopsis:
Marla Grayson is a caregiver who is assigned by a family court judge to care for the vulnerable elderly, however, Marla makes shady transactions with the assets of her protégés by selling their property and collecting a large salary. Everything changes with her new target. Jennifer Peterson looks like a gem among other potential victims what Marla doesn't know she may have messed with the wrong person.
Attention, in the following segment I will make a small summary of the film, analyzing aspects that caught my attention, at the end of this post I will leave you as usual my personal opinion and I will give the film a score or rating according to my tastes. I must warn that there will be some spoilers about the movie I Care a Lot.
Summary
Marla Grayson is a successful woman, she describes herself as a lioness in a hostile world where the strongest or fittest survive, resigned to eat or be eaten in the business world, she chooses to hunt and eat. Her business is based on getting old people who have money and with the help of her friend in a retirement home she makes false medical indications in which her victims in this case the elderly need more care than their children or relatives can offer.
Marla takes them to a retirement home to live out their last days there, but not before auctioning and selling all their assets. The government grants her the power of attorney, a guardianship over these elders regardless of whether they have relatives or not. Marla immediately sells all of her victims' possessions until they die and the cycle begins again.
The first scene of the film is important because it affects the end of the production, the son of one of her "protégés" demands to see her, he argues before the judge that Marla has separated him from his elderly mother but not before selling her positions. Marla on the other hand perfectly manipulates the judge claiming that many of the children prefer to let their parents starve to death rather than sell a part of their inheritance to pay for the expenses of their care, a magnificent move that grants her the ruling in her favor.
Her business is prosperous, she takes care that each victim does not die before squeezing all her pocket because at death the rights to all assets become the possession of the children or according to the will, Marla has to make them live a few years in order to get good profits, however, Marla's ambition has no limits so she keeps looking for new victims with a lot of money to be her "caretaker".
A doctor friend offers her a beneficial deal for both, she shows the file of a possible victim for Marla, it is Jennifer Peterson, an old woman with a lot of money and who also has no children, no one to claim her possessions, she lives alone and goes to activities like any other senior citizen, after investigating her thoroughly Marla accepts the deal and in exchange for a manipulated medical order, along with her statement to the judge her friend will receive a stock as compensation.
The judge accepts without hesitation, trusting in Marla's good will. Marla goes directly to Jennifer's house to notify her of the judge's decision and take her to her new home, a retirement home in which Marla is in complete control. Despite the old woman's uneasiness, Marla succeeds and immediately makes an appraisal of her positions in the house in order to auction off all her assets.
Where we start to get suspicious is when a cab arrives at Jennifer's house, the cab driver looks extremely frightened by the fact that Jennifer is not at home, in the next scene we observe Roman Lunyov played by Peter Dinklage and we know that Marla has the wrong victim. Roman is a Russian mobster who thought he was dead, however, doing business in white slavery and drug trafficking, he decides to act low profile and seek mediation with Marla.
His lawyer intervenes in the matter and meets with Marla offering her a briefcase full of money in exchange for Jennifer's immediate release, however, Marla declines on the assumption that her victim is worth more than that.
Roman's henchmen try to forcibly remove Jennifer from the retirement home, an operation thwarted by Marla herself, however, Roman would not leave things like that. He orders the murder of Marla's friend who gave the false medical order to the judge to frighten Marla, but it seems that nothing works against this ambitious and very determined woman.
Roman kidnaps Marla and orders her disappearance with the typical mafioso phrase "make it look like an accident", however, Marla is a tough nut to crack and barely survives, when she arrives home her partner and partner in her company is injured with an open gas pipe which causes an explosion after they just left the place.
Faced with this situation Marla decides to fight to not be removed from the business and faces a violent group of Russian mafia with intelligence, manages to remember one of the plates of a vehicle of Roman's objective is to track it and then locate Roman, they find the house of his driver, they decide to follow him to the building where Roman works. Marla, in a cunning move, manages to neutralize Roman's driver and bodyguard, and also injects the Russian mobster with a sedative.

End of the Movie
Just when we thought the movie was over and Marla would get her way an old enemy shows up, that son whose mother was in Marla's care had died, it was the same character from the first scene of the movie. His mother had died and blamed Marla, he propitiates a deadly shot to the protagonist for which she dies.

Opinion
I think it is an entertaining movie to watch and enjoy a pleasant moment, in my case I watched it with my wife and another couple friend where we basically reached the same opinions about this production.
Morality
It is curious that of the 4 people who were watching the movie there was a feeling of hatred towards Marla, it is something quite curious that we preferred the Russian mafioso to win than Marla although the mafia obviously did much worse things than the protagonist, however, our sense of justice was inclined because the Russians won the game to Marla's freeloader. I imagine we know how bad the mafia is, however, Marla's sense of falseness in the face of the need of the elderly just to take away their possessions made this character even more detestable than the mafia.
Empowerment
It is clear that this film reflects empowerment and I really like that women take more of the lead roles and that their characters are brave and highly intelligent, however, I think that exploiting this sense too much can take away some of the reality of the film. Marla's character seems to me overexploited, I think that ambition should have a limit if it was about the Russian mafia, I think just common sense, however, she decides to face all mafia for money and that she ends them so easily seems to me something that definitely takes away a bit of realism to the film.
The Russian thugs were simply useless, no mission was successful except the assassination of Marla's doctor friend. She easily disarmed the mob by kidnapping their leader in a surprising move and with very little resistance, something I found unrealistic. At this point everyone in the room in front of my TV looked at each other's faces as if to say "they went too far".
The End
Despite the fact that Marla wins the final scene comes to somehow balance the sense of justice in the movie, Marla was a bad person who stole from the elderly, helpless people in addition to being ambitious and selfish. We all felt that the ending could have fixed something in terms of justice and made the final direction of the film make a little more sense.
Conclusion
I find this movie entertaining, the plot is fast and the story is quite interesting, however, the plot twists at the end seem to me a bit borderline realistic and I would have liked the second half of the movie to go in another direction but I think it's a good movie to watch with the family, surely many will hate Marla and prefer to be on Roman's side.
