Hola Hivers amantes de las películas y series, en esta oportunidad les comentaré sobre una película que podemos disfrutar en la plataforma de Netflix, es una película que me ha llamado la atención y que pude verla hace algunos días, La película se llama Mentiras Peligrosas.
Esta película es incluida en el catálogo de Netflix en el 2020, es dirigida por Michael Scott y cuenta con una duración de 96 minutos. Esta película es protagonizada por Camila Mendes, Jessie Usher, Jamie Chung y Cam Gigandet. Es una película que en lo particular me llamó la atención porque es del género de suspenso, he visto algunas películas en Netflix de suspenso que me han parecido bastante buenas y entretenidas, además, el argumento me pareció interesante dentro de un desarrollo en una película de suspenso.
Sinopsis:
La vida de un joven matrimonio ahogado por las deudas cambia rotundamente cuando Katie, la joven esposa empieza a trabajar cuidando a Leonard Wellesley, un anciano sin parientes ni herederos. Luego de 4 meses Leonard muere misteriosamente y aparentemente Katie es dueña de todas sus posesiones, con cada día que pasa se vuelve más complicada la vida de la pareja debido a que empiezan a descubrir lo que ocurrió en esa casa y las conspiraciones en su contra que conlleva el tener la herencia de Leonard, algo que pone en peligro su propia existencia.
Atención como es de costumbre en gran número de mis publicaciones dejo un segmento para resumir y analizar algunos aspectos en cuanto a la trama y al desarrollo de la película, en la siguiente parte de esta publicación se encontraran con algunos spoilers, sin embargo, en la parte final del post, les dejo mi clasificación según mi criterio y una opinión final de esta película.
Resumen:
Esta película tiene una trama interesante, cuenta una historia que hace pensar al espectador sobre lo que realmente está ocurriendo, incluso ponemos en duda la moralidad de alguno de los personajes por momentos, existen momentos claves en la película para poder entenderla, sin embargo, al final se esclarece todo lo sucedido.
Empezamos nombrando a Katie y a Adam, un joven matrimonio que lucha contra las deudas y el pago de la colegiatura de Adam, Katie se hace cargo de la gran mayoría de gastos cotidianos de la joven pareja. Comenzamos con una de las escenas claves para la película que es cuando Adam se vuelve un héroe al enfrentar valientemente a un asaltante que intenta robar el restaurant donde Katie trabaja, luego de ser el héroe de en ese momento notamos que en la película se nombra por primera vez el robo de diamantes, esta es mencionada justo después de hacer referencia a la gran valentía de Adam por salvar el día.
4 meses después, volvemos con Katie que ahora trabaja cuidando a Leonard Wellesley, un anciano con mucho dinero y una gran casa, sin embargo, la situación económica del joven matrimonio no es para nada buena y las deudas ahogan la relación, por esa razón Katie le pide a Leonard que contrate a su esposo Adam para trabajar como jardinero, Leonard acepta, desea ayudar a la joven pareja a salir adelante.
Poco después aparece un supuesto vendedor de bienes raíces, Mickey Hayden, uno de los personajes claves para entender todo lo sucedido dentro de la película, Hayden muestra su gran interés por la casa de Leonard, sin embargo, Katie es firme para hacer que se vaya.
Un día Katie sube al ático y encuentra a Leonard muerto. Adam que desde el principio se mostraba deslumbrado por el dinero de Leonard, comienza a revisar las cosas del ático, encuentra mucho dinero en efectivo alrededor de 100 mil dólares, en este punto la pareja comienza a tomar decisiones que los podrían llevar a la cárcel o a la tumba.
Luego de una discusión de moralidad entre Katie y Adam, deciden depositar el dinero en un banco, notamos que siempre están bajo la vigilancia de Hayden, algo que parece muy extraño si su intención es solamente comprar la vivienda de Leonard.
Poco tiempo después aparece una abogada que le da el testamento de Leonard a Katie, nombrándola heredera de todas sus posesiones, otra de las decisiones que era difícil de tomar, teniendo en cuenta lo extraño que parece el hecho de que heredaría una fortuna una cuidadora que estuvo con el difunto por solo 4 meses.
Luego de otra discusión con Adam que cada vez parece más apegado con el dinero del fallecido Leonard deciden aceptar y mudarse rápidamente a su nueva vivienda. La policía decide averiguar el asunto debido a lo extraño y curioso del caso, sospechan de alguna manera de la joven pareja de cometer un asesinato y arreglar todo para conseguir dinero. En una de las escenas se descubre que la muerte de Leonard no es natural, Katie al hacer referencia del fallecido menciona que era un hombre que no tenía muchas dolencias y que no se quejaba por ningún dolor, además, ella descubre sus medicinas y aparece un frasco con medicina completamente lleno, dando a entender que el homicida asesino a Leonard con una sobredosis e intento ocultar sus huella comprando un nuevo frasco de medicina.
Todo se va enredando debido al asedio incesante de la policía y el acoso de Hayden por su interés en la casa, sin embargo, llegamos a las secuencias que son claves para entender todo en la película.
Escena Clave:
La escena clave es donde la joven pareja descubre un cadáver dentro de la vivienda de Leonard, en lo que parece un cobertizo en el jardín, pero este no es solo un cadáver, pues tiene en sus manos una bolsa con los diamantes que habían sido robados meses atrás. En este punto ya sabemos que lo que buscan son los diamantes en lugar de la casa misma. Se descubre la razón de las conspiraciones.
La detective Chesler, confía en Katie, sin embargo, duda de Adam y le aconseja a Katie que se aleje de él lo antes posible y que opte por tomar las mejores decisiones. Esta duda es clave en la trama de la película, por un momento se acusa a Adam de tener alguna responsabilidad en el caso debido a su codicia. Esto hace que Katie llame a la abogada que le informó sobre el testamento para que le ayude a esclarecer las cosas, juntas van al banco y no encuentran el dinero, puesto que Adam ya lo retiró.
Secuencias Finales
En este punto Katie no sabe si realmente Adam es responsable de la muerte de Leonard y teme por que se escape con todo el dinero inculpándola de todo lo sucedido, sin embargo, Adam le dice que deben huir juntos, sabe que lo están siguiendo y que le pisan los talones, entiende que todo lo que esta pasando gira alrededor de los diamantes que tenía el cadáver.
Todo se complica cuando Hayden irrumpe en la casa y toma por rehén a Katie, en esta confrontación la trama tiene un giro repentino, con la muerte de Adam, el cual también logra neutralizar a Hayden el cual era el compañero de aquel ladrón de diamantes que encontraron muerto en la casa de Leonard.
El giro más sorpresivo de la película es en cuanto a la abogada Julia, la cual le dio en primer lugar el testamento a katie, ella también estaba implicada con la búsqueda de diamantes junto a Hayden dándole un testamento falso a la joven pareja para que pasaran a vivir en la casa y así actuar como escudo ante las investigaciones de la policía. Afortunadamente la detective Chesler logra llegar justo a tiempo para salvar a katie y neutralizar a Julia.
En la escena final notamos que han pasado meses de esa sangrienta confrontación, Katie está embarazada de Adam y se queda viviendo en la antigua casa de Leonard, la detective le explica que han buscado muchas veces indicios dentro de la casa sobre el paradero de los diamantes, sin embargo, no los encuentran y deciden cerrar el caso, sin embargo, en la misma escena notamos los diamantes apenas enterrados en el jardín que van apareciendo ante nuestra vista.
Análisis (Spoilers)
La película es muy previsible, a pesar de los intentos en ocultar la trama es evidente que el villano de esta película es Hayden, por un momento podemos dudar de Adam, sin embargo, Hayden, desde su primera aparición se logra convertir en el principal sospechoso. Eso es algo que a muchos espectadores no le parece atractivo de las películas lo previsible que puedan llegar a ser, en este caso yo me incluyo.
El giro más importante recae sobre Julia, la cual era un cómplice de Hayden en la búsqueda de los diamantes, este sería el aspecto más sorpresivo de la película. El rompecabezas se comienza a armar a partir del descubrimiento del cadáver con los diamantes.
El final:
Adam antes de morir claramente dijo “El Jardín”, haciendo referencia sobre el escondite de los diamantes, sin embargo, katie no los encuentra, no sé si la protagonista estaba sorda o simplemente no quería que la policía encontrara el motín, esto se pone en duda debido a que los diamantes apenas estaban enterrados en la escena final.
Otro aspecto curioso es que Katie sigue viviendo en una casa que legalmente no es suya, el testamento era falso y esto debía saberlo la policía, tal vez la detective se hizo de la vista gorda viendo la situación de katie, sin embargo, es algo que no parece tener mucho sentido, teniendo en cuenta que cierran el caso aparentemente muy fácil, dejando a Katie con una herencia y millones de dólares que en retrospectiva no merecía, sin embargo, debido a su embarazo y todo lo que vivió de alguna manera recompensaba esa gran ayuda monetaria que estaría recibiendo dentro de la trama

Opinión:
La película genera algunas expectativas que al final de cuentas no se cumplen a cabalidad, es una película con muy poco suspenso, en mi opinión lo que más entretiene de la producción es que el espectador va armando el rompecabezas en su mente de todo lo que va ocurriendo haciendo teorías sobre la complicidad de los personajes que quieren conseguir el dinero. En una opinión muy personal esperaba un poco más de suspenso y giros en la trama.
A pesar de todo es una película entretenida para actuar como detectives dentro de la película, no es una producción muy divertida para muchas personas, sin embargo, Netflix trabaja para alcanzar todos los gustos. Es por todas estas razones que le otorgo la calificación anteriormente mencionada.
Es un enorme placer escribir para todos ustedes, espero que haya sido de agrado este resumen, análisis y mi opinión personal como un espectador más dentro de esta plataforma de Netflix.

This movie is included in the Netflix catalog in 2020, it is directed by Michael Scott and has a duration of 96 minutes. This movie stars Camila Mendes, Jessie Usher, Jamie Chung and Cam Gigandet. It is a movie that in particular caught my attention because it is of the suspense genre, I have seen some movies on Netflix of suspense that I found quite good and entertaining, in addition, the plot seemed interesting within a development in a suspense movie.
Synopsis:
The life of a young married couple drowning in debt changes dramatically when Katie, the young wife starts working taking care of Leonard Wellesley, an elderly man with no relatives or heirs. After 4 months Leonard dies mysteriously and apparently Katie is the owner of all his possessions, with each passing day the couple's life becomes more complicated as they begin to discover what happened in that house and the conspiracies against them that entails having Leonard's inheritance, something that endangers their very existence.
Attention as usual in a large number of my publications I leave a segment to summarize and analyze some aspects regarding the plot and the development of the film, in the next part of this publication you will find some spoilers, however, in the final part of the post, I leave you my classification according to my criteria and a final opinion of this film.
Summary:
This movie has an interesting plot, it tells a story that makes the viewer think about what is really happening, we even question the morality of some of the characters at times, there are key moments in the film to be able to understand it, however, in the end everything that happened is clarified.
We begin with Katie and Adam, a young married couple struggling with debt and Adam's tuition, Katie takes care of the vast majority of the young couple's daily expenses. We start with one of the key scenes for the movie which is when Adam becomes a hero when he bravely confronts a mugger who tries to rob the restaurant where Katie works, after being the hero of at that moment we notice that in the movie the diamond theft is named for the first time, this is mentioned right after making reference to Adam's great bravery for saving the day.
4 months later, we return to Katie who now works taking care of Leonard Wellesley, an old man with a lot of money and a big house, however, the economic situation of the young couple is not good at all and debts drown the relationship, for that reason Katie asks Leonard to hire her husband Adam to work as a gardener, Leonard accepts, he wants to help the young couple to get ahead.
Soon after a supposed real estate salesman appears, Mickey Hayden, one of the key characters to understand everything that happens within the film, Hayden shows his great interest in Leonard's house, however, Katie is adamant to make him leave.
One day Katie goes up to the attic and finds Leonard dead. Adam who from the beginning was dazzled by Leonard's money, begins to go through the things in the attic, he finds a lot of cash around 100 thousand dollars, at this point the couple begins to make decisions that could lead them to jail or to the grave.
After a discussion of morality between Katie and Adam, they decide to deposit the money in a bank, we notice that they are always under Hayden's surveillance, something that seems very strange if their intention is only to buy Leonard's house.
Shortly after a lawyer appears and gives Leonard's will to Katie, naming her heir to all his possessions, another decision that was difficult to make, considering how strange it seems that a caregiver who was with the deceased for only 4 months would inherit a fortune.
After another argument with Adam who seems more and more attached to the money of the deceased Leonard, they decide to accept and move quickly to their new home. The police decide to look into the matter because of the strangeness and curiosity of the case, they somehow suspect the young couple of committing a murder and arranging everything to get money. In one of the scenes it is discovered that Leonard's death is not natural, Katie when making reference to the deceased mentions that he was a man who did not have many ailments and did not complain about any pain, in addition, she discovers his medicines and a completely full bottle of medicine appears, implying that the murderer killed Leonard with an overdose and tried to hide his tracks by buying a new bottle of medicine.
Everything gets tangled up due to the incessant siege of the police and the harassment of Hayden for his interest in the house, however, we get to the sequences that are key to understanding everything in the film.
Key Scene:
The key scene is where the young couple discovers a corpse inside Leonard's home, in what looks like a shed in the garden, but this is not just a corpse, as he has in his hands a bag with diamonds that had been stolen months earlier. At this point we already know that what they are looking for are the diamonds rather than the house itself. The reason for the conspiracies is discovered.
Detective Chesler, trusts Katie, however, doubts Adam and advises Katie to get away from him as soon as possible and opt to make the best decisions. This doubt is key to the plot of the film, for a moment Adam is accused of having some responsibility in the case due to his greed. This causes Katie to call the lawyer who informed her about the will to help her clarify things, together they go to the bank and do not find the money, since Adam has already withdrawn it.
Final Sequences
At this point Katie does not know if Adam is really responsible for Leonard's death and fears that he will escape with all the money, blaming her for everything that happened, however, Adam tells her that they must flee together, he knows that he is being followed and that they are on his heels, he understands that everything that is happening revolves around the diamonds that the corpse had.
Everything gets complicated when Hayden breaks into the house and takes Katie hostage, in this confrontation the plot takes a sudden turn, with the death of Adam, which also manages to neutralize Hayden who was the partner of that diamond thief who was found dead in Leonard's house.
The most surprising twist of the film is regarding the lawyer Julia, who gave the will to Katie in the first place, she was also involved with the search for diamonds with Hayden giving a false will to the young couple so that they could move into the house and thus act as a shield against police investigations. Fortunately Detective Chesler manages to arrive just in time to save Katie and neutralize Julia.
In the final scene we notice that months have passed since that bloody confrontation, Katie is pregnant with Adam and stays living in Leonard's old house, the detective explains to her that they have searched many times for clues inside the house about the whereabouts of the diamonds, however, they do not find them and decide to close the case, however, in the same scene we notice the diamonds barely buried in the garden that are appearing before our eyes.

The film is very predictable, despite attempts to hide the plot it is evident that the villain of this film is Hayden, for a moment we can doubt Adam, however, Hayden, from his first appearance manages to become the main suspect. That is something that many viewers do not find attractive about movies how predictable they can become, in this case I include myself.
The most important twist falls on Julia, which was an accomplice of Hayden in the search for diamonds, this would be the most surprising aspect of the film. The puzzle starts to come together after the discovery of the corpse with the diamonds.
The ending:
Adam before dying clearly said "The Garden", making reference about the hiding place of the diamonds, however, katie does not find them, I do not know if the protagonist was deaf or simply did not want the police to find the riot, this is put in doubt due to the fact that the diamonds were barely buried in the final scene.
Another curious aspect is that Katie is still living in a house that is legally not hers, the will was false and this should have been known to the police, perhaps the detective turned a blind eye seeing katie's situation, however, it is something that does not seem to make much sense, considering that they close the case apparently very easy, leaving Katie with an inheritance and millions of dollars that in retrospect she did not deserve, however, due to her pregnancy and everything she lived through somehow rewarded that great monetary help she would be receiving within the plot

Opinion:
The film generates some expectations that at the end of the day are not fully met, it is a film with very little suspense, in my opinion what is most entertaining about the production is that the viewer is putting together the puzzle in his mind of everything that is happening making theories about the complicity of the characters who want to get the money. In a very personal opinion I was expecting a little more suspense and plot twists.
Despite everything it is an entertaining movie to act as detectives within the movie, it is not a very funny production for many people, however, Netflix works to reach all tastes. It is for all these reasons that I give it the aforementioned rating.
